“You can’t view a message that’s on hold”

anyone know what’s up with this? someone I was pming with received this and was unable to view the last two messages I sent to him.

very odd, never encountered this issue/error before. hopefully someone can shed some light

It means their mailbox is full, they need to delete some old messages before the new ones can come through.
