I would probably choose underground depending on how I could do it. A really nice bunker with a source of electricity, plenty of food, and tons of books. If I couldn’t have electricity I could do with just books. What underground conditions would said person be living in?

IDK, just imagine that you will be provided for similarly either way. Hole in the ground vs little raft. Underground bunker vs yacht. That kind of thing.
I'm more focused on the types of challenges you'd have to overcome with each. Like, I know I couldn't handle living on a boat because like Silphium22 I get seasick easily. But I might put up with it if the alternative is never going above ground to see the open sky and sun again. Then again, a boat can sink. A bunker probably won't collapse if it's built right. But you might run out of food in a bunker and have to grow your own. Maybe it would be better to go fishing every day? "But I'm a vegetarian and I never liked seafood anyway," you say... well....
I can go on lol. I think there are a lot of reasons why someone might pick one or the other.

The vitamin D deficiency would kill me from living underground. And the dingy boat would not have room for books, drinking water, and kratom.

What a perfect life, stop by Indonesia, fill up with goody's and keep on sailing while laying in hammock munching on the leafs staring into the bliss. All I would need on the ship is one off world replicator that has DNA of everything that ever was on earth. If want none GMO Clean PIZZA, There it is! If i want a kitty with blue eyes, there it is! And of course top notch A++ kratom batch. Perhaps full spectrum leaning on slow red more for a start. I would replicate a small sweet looking monkey with pirate eye patch to be my captain of the ship with my own clothing design, very intelligent one which can communicate telepathically. Replicate me a cloud 9 sauna in the open best view to look at while my captain takes my breath away with beautiful scenes...WhiteAngelica wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 10:55 pm The vitamin D deficiency would kill me from living underground. I have deep concerns because a typhoon hit Malaysia and chances are, various other indonesian locations. Also, I watched a report about how Jakarta is SINKING. I am going to climb up a kratom tree, try to find a reasonable perch, and if we sink, I will livestream, my mouth stuffed with leaves like an acorn hoarding chipmunk.brave777 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 12:01 amWhat a perfect life, stop by Indonesia, fill up with goody's and keep on sailing while laying in hammock munching on the leafs staring into the bliss. I have tried to think about how much the leaking dingy sucks, but the claustrophobia and sunlight ban would make me bonkers. If the leaking dingy had access to drinking water or a good seasalt filter, and I had books and music, I could swing a life of leaky solitude & ideally find an island that isn't radioactive to settle upon.
I am a poor candidate for the end of the world.

It be cool to land on a tropical island with kratom trees. If I had an axe, hammer and some tools to build with a box of hairloom seeds, i would get busy right away, build my self a small hut and start on food right away. Did you know people living in mountains easily live over 100 years some 120 and still alive, fresh air is number one. I really hope Malaysian and indonesian people can live trough the typhoons and flooding. After all thats where we get kratom from... Got my fingers crossed for them..

Alright I would choose underground because first I would be terrified of a rouge wave taking me out. Not to mention maintaining a good secure underground bunk is a much easier way to live in my opinion. I would have it wired up to solar panels, and a backup generator ran on gas. I would have a bunker minimum a 3000sq foot. One that size is easy to power, and keep up. Plus you could store enough kratom in your bunker to last a lifetime or just grow it above ground. I would have a ventilation system that had failsafes. I would have a small heater, and maybe air for a small room to keep it comfortable while the rest were kept cool by just being underground. I might have a small set of led lights in 4*4 grow tent with plenty of weed seeds to grow my own maybe. I would have a tv in the one room kept completely temperature controlled. Than I would have a movies, and other collections in various forms to keep me entertained. I would have enough books to read forever. I would have plenty of water stored, or collect rain water. If that was insufficient I would live near a running river that way I could set up a way to filter it which is actually really easy if the water is moving, and not stagnant. I’m a Eagle Scout so I know many easy ways to filter dirt water that I have used personally. I would have a shower system set up taking a small amount of space in my bunker. I would have safes keeping a ton of illegal drugs including all my favorites to last forever. I would have the very best supplements, and vitamins to avoid insufficient amounts. I would have a music system, and plenty of non perishable food to last indefinitely. My bedroom would be the one with tv,air, heat, and a nice comfy mattress. I would have a washer, and dryer with losts of soap, or at least a basin with soap to wash my clothes , and sheets. Finally I would have some a space specific for exercise. I hope that’s everything if not I might be editing.
