Re: Texas Family Harvest (TFH) - Open Order Event - Pre-orders Begin April 25th
I don't participate here at the forum as much as I'd like, guess I'm more of a "track down something good, buy a kilo or two and then shop again in a month or four" kind of consumer. I want to echo the sentiments of other posters here - gumbyke's videos regarding the industry were quite interesting when I watched them a few months back, really makes you appreciate the vendors who go above and beyond to secure good product. I'm running low on TFH in the cupboard right now, so I'm super excited to be able to make an order soon! Thanks for doing another event!

Re: Texas Family Harvest (TFH) - Open Order Event - Pre-orders Begin April 25th
Say you have what is labeled a white strain that is a slow and not particularly relaxing, but might be considered mid spec red,, When it is asked "what color type best represents a sample" do you answer based on the actual color or based on its attributes. Like would you answer thats its a slight energetic "red" or a slightly relaxing white. Or that even though it's labeled a white its attributes make it a red "strain type" and then leave the relaxing/energizing spectrum in the middle since it really isn't of either, or leave just leave that blank.
I'm at work and don't have the time to carefully craft my question, I know this is confusing but any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

Re: Texas Family Harvest (TFH) - Open Order Event - Pre-orders Begin April 25th
I assume this is from the TFH survey? I am answering that question as if it were sent to me without a label at all, what color assignment would I think it is. I do this by how we normally associate certain strains with certain attributes. Such as white: fast, energetic and motivating. Red: relaxing pain relief and etc. I could be doing this wrong of course but that just makes sense to me. Somebody please chime in if they have experience with the survey and are sure I am wrong, I’d like to be doing it right of course.

Re: Texas Family Harvest (TFH) - Open Order Event - Pre-orders Begin April 25th
I got 2 little samples last year with my TFH order that they asked for feedback on. Both were labelled as greens. When I did the survey I mentioned that one seemed way more like a red to me. I don't know if they have stopped *color* labeling strain/batch samples, or added a question about it, or if maybe people just say what it seemed like, as I did.

Re: Texas Family Harvest (TFH) - Open Order Event - Pre-orders Begin April 25th
I’m pretty sure if the samples are labeled with a color that they were given that name simple based on a visual inspection. I’d think the final color will be determined after the testing is complete. But as a tester we should rate the color based on effects, not appearance. I’m pretty sure that Chris has indicated that the overall speed ratings from the testing is what determines what color it’s ultimately given. You might get as a sample labeled Green that could end up on the menu as a Red if the testers generally say it was slow and relaxing. However, the last several samples I got just had numbers and letters, no colors. Earlier samples all had colors on the label from what I remember. It would seem logical that the color is determined once all the results are tabulated. Again, just guessing.

I don't believe the open order event is related to the survey/volunteer order opportunity. Unless I'm misunderstanding which is also possible of course.

You are correct I was trying to answer his question which reminded me exactly of the testing opportunity and the survey related to that.Sanbutsushin wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 1:57 pmI don't believe the open order event is related to the survey/volunteer order opportunity. Great question! We used to have a 7kg limit, but I dont think we will need to set any kind of limitations for this event. Its been a pretty long time since our last event, our inventory levels are pretty healthy (in most items). Those of you who like to stock up to last between our events may do so without any guilt.... there is plenty to go around
We do have a general policy that we do not allow bulk purchases for resale, so as long as its for personal use than you are all good!

Re: Texas Family Harvest (TFH) - Open Order Event - Pre-orders Begin April 25th
Bingo - for the most part, this is true - but there are exceptions. There is no industry standard for what constitutes red vs green, etc - so we try to align with what the customer might expect. However, personal chemistry is king when it comes to how people experience kratom, especially as it pertains to where it lands on the "spectrum".Vipercuda69 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 1:48 pm I’m pretty sure if the samples are labeled with a color that they were given that name simple based on a visual inspection. Fun Fact - When testing, the greatest predictor of where a batch will score on the spectrum is the "color" we print on the test label. We, humans, are very vulnerable to the power of suggestion

Thanks for this, your post has got me thinking about how we reply to membership inquiries. I remember your email, I wish I had answered your question directly.... I'm sorry about that!system32recov wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 3:11 pm

Whenever we get membership requests, the vast majority of them are from folks outside this community. In those requests, it's really common that people to also ask a lot of questions (how to order, what our pricing is, how we ship, etc...). We have a templated response we reply with that more or less lets them know we are not accepting new customers and then we point them to various kratom communities that might help them find a vendor (like here!). It's not a fun thing to do by any means... it really doesn't feel good to turn folks away.
Due to the volume of inquiries we get, it can be kind of a tricky thing to find the balance between politely informing them we are not accepting new customers, and also answering any curiosities they might have. I have always assumed (perhaps foolishly) that informing them that we are not accepting new customers kind of covers all of the questions they might have had (for example: why would they still be interested in our shipping options if we are not going to fulfill an order for them, etc).
Your post here has been very insightful, thank you!

Can anyone familiar with the current TFH options offer an opinion on which current green is most similar to the Jade Hulu SSV from last summer?

For me, the 30 year wild green tfh, classic green Maeng Da and old school green Bali all offered a very similar mood lift and energy for me. But hands down the Wild Green Hulu Kapuas was one of the best greens for mood and energy that I’ve had in over 5 years. So far my all time favorite TFH batch. No longer on the menu but I still have a bit left from March 2020.

I feel the same way about the Wild Green Hulu Kapuas and I use what I have left sparingly. I just wish I would have gotten the red. I bet it was fantastic alsoVipercuda69 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 4:31 pmFor me, the 30 year wild green tfh, classic green Maeng Da and old school green Bali all offered a very similar mood lift and energy for me.
