[ANNOUNCEMENT] Site update Sunday (2/7/21)

In order to utilize the newest version of PHP, we will be upgrading the forum software for this website on Sunday, February 7th @ 6pm CST. During the update, the website will be offline and inaccessible. As long as everything goes according to plan, the site should again be available later that same night.

The site will look slightly different after the update + have several new features people have been asking for. This update also lays the groundwork for even more features to be added in the coming weeks.

Apologies for the downtime, and thanks for your patience while we conduct this update!

Also, some new features in the latest version of the software:

- Notifications on the bell icon in the upper right corner when someone quotes and replies to your comments!
- Can use actual emojis now instead of the just the site emojis
- Avatars now show up on mobile, along with many other mobile improvements

The "New Posts" link, works different than previous script "Unread" and "Active" links

Seems like, it sets a cookie every time I click on New Posts, ... appears all my viewing is now cleared, i.e. the script assumes I have actually read all those New Posts, when I only viewed a List... New posts are still Unread, however I can no longer see them. There could be 10 New posts, but after reading 1... the entire List disappears. I can't go Back? to see/ read the other 9?

IS there any way to restore the "Unread/ Active" behavior? - Or maybe it's just me?

Hmm... I'm unable to reproduce this. When I click 'new posts', it displays a list of all unread posts but only marks them as I read them. Are you using desktop/mobile version of site? What browser and version are you using? I can look into it.

Also, can you clear all site related cookies, and try again to see if happens? There might be some from the old version of the forum stored on your device.

Glad everyone is liking the redesign so far! Personally, I think the site looks much better on mobile than the previous mobile version.

I haven't gotten to some of the color changes yet, but it's on my to-do list for the near future.
