Re: Coronavirus discussion
Hi. Everyone. I’m so sorry for your son Hippie. I hope your still negative. Y’all are in my prayers.
My husband got vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine on Monday. He hasn’t had any side effects and believe me I watched him like a hawk. His scheduled days off were Monday and Tuesday so that made monitoring him easy. No problems at all to report.
He is a healthcare worker at a long term care facility, which is why he got vaccinated. All of the Residents were vaccinated but oddly enough he was one of only a few employees who took the vaccine. He wasn’t going to get it but I talked him into it. I just pray that I don’t regret it !

Re: Coronavirus discussion
A lot of healthcare workers, mostly nurses I think, are passing on the vaccine. I'm very undecided myself. A huge range of vaccine side effects too, from nothing to omg I'm dying. Like I said, I read too much at r/medicine.
A strong response to a vaccine is your body gearing up to fight, so it's good. The only vaccine I've ever had a reaction to was the second Shingrix booster. It was like a mild case of the flu for 3 days.
I don't know, if I come out the other side of this scare, maybe I will get it.

Wishing you well Hippie. This is all so scary! One of our best friends tested positive about 9 days ago and yesterday was admitted to the hospital with difficulty breathing. My husband (well, I call him my husband, we've been living in sin for 38 years. Lol) was at his house 4 days before he tested positive. Ugh. You just never know anymore who might have it.

Oh no, I hope friend is ok. Yeah, you never know. 4 days before symptoms, he might be good. I hope so.
I woke up about 5:15 this morning and my mouth was so dry (not unusual, I sleep with a fan aimed at my face) so I popped a peppermint in my mouth. I'm sucking away on it and I'm thinking "I can't taste this", start to freak out and fall back asleep.
I can smell incense, the first thing I did when I got up was lit a stick. I can taste my tea.
From today to Sunday or so, I'm going to be a wreck.

I can't take zinc and I don't remember what it did to me the one time I tried it. It was not good though.IndelibleDotInk wrote:Make sure you get enough zinc, vitas C and E, lots of clear fluids.

I'm taking Nature's Way System Well Ultimate Immunity (have been taking it for over a year straight, usually only during cold & flu season) and there's lot of C and some Zinc in that. Vit K2 and D3 (5,000 iu). Um.....(I'm so spaced out lol) Alaska Wild Salmon Oil softgels from Costco, famotidine. Anyway, I'm taking stuff. Elderberry syrup and I've got some Sauvie Shrub fire cider out for delivery.
Yesterday I felt pretty bad, a headache that just got worse and worse and would not go away. Body aches. Sinuses kinda messed up and I was so.spaced.out. Covid fog? I went to bed about 7:30 and read until about 10:00 when all of a sudden, every symptom I had went away. Just like magic.
I just got up and only have a mild sinus type headache. Gonna finish this cup of tea and go get tested again. Let the kiddo come over and take a shower while I'm gone. We have a protocol for that too. Protocols for everything!
edit: Rapid test is negative. I should get the other test back within a few days but I am surprised as hell, I felt SO BAD yesterday! I have zero sense of taste. This has to be Covid. Son and I were so careful, maybe I got a really light viral load.

well, hang in there!! I know you'll continue taking all precautions.herbalhippie wrote: .... other than that I feel completely normal. I GOT LUCKY YOU GUYS.
I doubled my Fish Oil, Omega-3 intake this past week... after doing some research. Probably the #1 supplement? I remember reading that, years ago from some Fitness guru somewhere "What would be your most important Supplement" etc... Also awhile back reviewed the Zinc thing about colds & Flu... it's Zinc Acetate lozenges under the tongue. Ordinary zinc pills do nothing apparently?
Also starting another cycle of Sam-E ... expensive stuff, but I got some more as a Xmas gift. Also got some Alpha-GPC from Nootropics Depot, it's a choline supplement. Many types of medication are anti-cholinergic ? Benadryl for one example (which I used to love, no longer take!) .. anyway it's a brain booster. Also found in eggs, you get choline by eating regular fried eggs. But the extra booster is good I guess... I'm going to the Chinese Herbal Shop to pickup some more raw Korean Ginseng root. I like the strongest sliced red, "Panax" ginseng.

Yes it does. He is the third employee to get it. He is going back to work Thursday, the same day I get off quarantine. I just got the call from the clinic, my PCR test came back positive. I think she was a bit surprised after asking me about my symptoms that I wasn't more ill. I'm high risk for a few reasons. I was SO SCARED. The day I knew I was getting sick, I put my affairs in order in record time. Luckily, I didn't have a whole lot of affairs.Greyfeather wrote:herbalhippie wrote:I don't want to jinx myself, but I think I might just survive this one. We do have such a good protocol for his work exposures. I feel really good about the medication and supplements I was taking too. I was going to drop a couple things yesterday but then remembered how some people can have a mild case and then crash a week later. So I'll keep going for a few more days. Another bottle of Sambucol.
Today I just feel a bit run down. I'll probably take a shower and lay down and read for the rest of the day.

I got the antibody test when it was first available at Fred Meyer. Negative.
btw, when the nurse called me this morning she said "You can't have the vaccine until you're 3 months post-Covid, but luckily your antibodies will give you some protection for those 3 months." SOME, not complete.

Yes, but I think they're finding that antibodies don't last as long as would be good, unfortunately.
Covid gives some really strange symptoms. I developed a red spot about the size of a dime on one knee and now occasionally it itches like mad. I have this localized cold chill from one side to the other around my back just above my waistline. It comes and goes within a few seconds and tonight this has been going on for almost 2 hours. It feels as if I had put on a strong menthol rub and then set a fan blowing on it. It's a band of cold maybe 6-8" wide. I had this earlier and then it went away until tonight. I'm also running a degree of fever tonight. It's a strange virus.

Oh goodness, so you are positive? Hopefully you'll have a mild case. You're right, it is a strange virus. I figure I'll eventually get it since I work with anti-masker idiots. One guys mother got it, he took her to the hospital and when in the room with her would take off his mask. He did not quarantine, didn't tell anybody, and just kept coming to work. We do the same jobs but on different shifts. I was sharing a keyboard and tools with him. His mother wound up dying, and this dummy still doesn't believe in masks.herbalhippie wrote:Yes, but I think they're finding that antibodies don't last as long as would be good, unfortunately.

I am not elderly, but I live in an apartment building where there are many elderly people. They offered me the shot, so I took it. Figured I might as well get it now, for myself and for others. Also, I think that they are now doing 65 and up, I think they changed very recently, like in the past week .. might need a fact check on that though.

Got the vaccine this morning. The shot itself was painless. It's been five hours now, and no noticeable side effects at all. I got several sheets of information on it, like a FAQ. if anyone has specific questions about it I may be able to help out. I'd take a picture of it but I doubt it would come out very good on my phone.

I got my regular flu shot. Pharmacist made it painless, though the area is now a bit tender.
Tuesday had my monthly blood draw and damn, the guy hit the vein in such a way as to has been the most painful tapping of a vein I have ever had, my whole arm twitched, there was that zinging feeling (normal if they are a bit off) which was ten times more intense than ever. There is residual pain, which is not normal.

It's now been 13 hours since the shot. The only side effect is very mild soreness at the injection site, normal for an intramuscular shot. Site looks normal, no swelling, not even any slight bleeding on the bandage. No malaise, cough, fever or anything. I feel like if there's nothing bad right now, there probably won't be any.

Yesterday my arm injection site was pretty sore. Nothing too bad, but it was kind of uncomfortable to lay on that side, but no bruise or anythjng. Other than that very mild symptom, I felt totally fine, most of the time I really forgot that I got it. I get the booster in about four weeks, so we'll see if I develop any symptoms then.

Kratom use removes my smell all the time, i dont understand why you guys think its something else. Honestly, who here have a smell using kratom? NOT ME. Take few days a break and you start to smell little things. You could smell stuff on kratom like strong colon sprays, or like cinnamon spice or other strong smells but little smells, forget about them. Oh and you could also smell smokers. No matter what when i am around smokers and they speak, i smell that shit. If want to restore really really fast your smells and other issues, i already talked about Haritaki power. It takes one full day no kratom and just haritaki powder and you start to smell little things. Haritaki powder is under rated. I tested like 20+ times and Haritaki always brings the smell out after you stop or take a break from kratom. Just heads up, not sure why no one talks about that kratom kills your smell senses. Especially if you are a heavy dose'r.
On a warning note, Haritaki is way more bitter then kratom and you might puke takin it raw powder. So if you got a cap making machine i would highly advice. It does work for a lot of issues humans have, from my personal experience and hope you guys look more into it.
Some peoples opinion on Haritaki
I get mine from here, https://haritaki-yogic-super-brain-food.myshopify.com/ . they also have other products and they all help with health very well especially if you want to make sure to prevent from future sickness there might be.
Most people wearing masks have low oxygen levels, Haritaki increases Oxygen levels 300% . I am glad to read some of you had no side effects from the vaccine shot. Hope it stays like that, but if it gets worse, Haritaki might helps with the symptoms i think. Hope everyone here having a good day.

I had symptoms start 16th March. I’ve been ill for 4.5 months. I’ve been taking Haritaki over a week now and all of my covid symptoms have gone. I am actually writing to thank you for your follow up emails! I just finished the second one and added a few new items to my shopping list! I ate these foods all the time when I was younger! Thank you for reminding me!
I'm not ready to move on quite yet. I'm still excited about this lifetime. I am doing yoga again, a little painfully, but I can still do it! And now Haritaki and your advice and help are making this so much easier!!
Thank you so very much!!!

Tooth Help
I escaped extracting a tooth by using it as a toothpaste for 7 days. My toothache gone n my tooth saved. SomanMost people wearing masks have low oxygen levels, Haritaki increases Oxygen levels 300% . I am glad to read some of you had no side effects from the vaccine shot. Hope it stays like that, but if it gets worse, Haritaki might helps with the symptoms i think. Hope everyone here having a good day.

Re: Coronavirus discussion
What are they saying about it? I'll have to check it out. I know a lot of nurses and doctors aren't getting it. Which, I understand because of the unknown risk of side effects, but it really doesn't look good when the medical professionals are not taking the thing everyone is supposed to get. Doesn't inspire confidenceherbalhippie wrote:I hope you sail through the two vaccines with no major side effects. I have scared the crap out of myself reading about them at r/medicine. Bad idea.
Here is what I want to know: will the vaccine be effective against mutated covid strains and also how long does immunity last for the current vaccines? Like the UK strain, and South Africa variant, and any other potential covid-19 variants? I think I read the Moderna CEO said their vaccine would be effective for a year (have to double check this to see if this is correct info)... I mean, how long is the immunity going to last for these current vaccines? Is this is going to be a yearly thing like a flu shot? Imagine if this is a yearly thing

Re: Coronavirus discussion
There's just been a lot of discussion between them about side effects and how bad they can get. And then some people sail through with nothing more than a sore arm.
I don't think they know yet if the vaccine will protect against the new mutations popping up. I don't know if my brand spanking new antibodies will protect again the new mutations.
It makes me tired.

Re: Coronavirus discussion
Yeah everyone I know is eager to get it. I think places like reddit and social media are perpetuating misinformation, or just giving too much oxygen to people's unsubstantiated worries, and it's negatively impacting everyone. I trust the science and the medical professionals over someone's conjecture on the internet. It's like an anti-vaxxer's fantasy...makes one wonder what would have happened if there was similar sentiment with penicillin or the measles vaccineIndelibleDotInk wrote:All the Dr.s, nurses, politicians here are baring their arms for the vaccine.
