Venmo. How?

Post by Greyfeather »

Hey folks!

I'm asking for your patience please. I'm a grown-a** person, but I have never had or used an i-phone, smart phone, etc. I can't justify the expense. I have an old "cell" for long distance and emergencies.

But it's almost impossible to find a kratom vendor who'll take Google pay. All you need for that is a COMPUTER, which I have. They don't all take CC or e-checks either (and f*ck Paypal). My husband has an i-phone, but he's an "old" and doesn't really use it for anything other than business. I asked him to get Venmo so that I can make kratom purchases, but neither one of us really know how the hell Venmo works. I went to Venmo's website and was appalled at how much is left out. (note: I was a college-level writing teacher, so it is disappointing how bad "instructionals" really are).

Could anyone take me through the process, step by step please? And by this, I mean, "talk to me like I am a six-year old." Please assume that I don't know ANYTHING - not even how the hell a cell phone works. I have questions like: how is the Venmo account attached to a bank account? What is the purchasing process like - will I [He] get a text that looks like a bill/invoice? So many questions.

Seriously, product websites should be embarrassed about what they leave out. "Just tap on your_______ and you're good to go!!!!!" Really? Just tap on "that" and the magic happens? And they wonder why consumers have so much trouble with their products.

If there is a tiny little teacher or 'pedant' hiding in your heart, do me a solid. I will be forever grateful. Writing out instructions takes a lot of thought, imagination and PATIENCE.

Bless you and thank you.

Venmo for Dummies

Post by Greyfeather »

Hey folks!

I originally posted this question in "Off Topic," but I thought I might get more responses here. I'll leave it to the Mods to decide if I goofed. My question isn't about KRATOM, but it is certainly kratom-related, and in order the actually get kratom, I really need some help. Thanks so much :) .

Hey Greyfeather, I would be happy to help. If you like I can give you a call and walk you through it, that way we can avoid any unexpected road blocks. Just shoot me a message of when would be a good time. ;)

Short version: Venmo is one of several P2P payment systems. Person 2 Person. 8-)

Now... I'm glad you posted, 'cuz I have a major issue regarding PayPal - and Venmo IS owned by PayPal. :?

I'm afraid this is better started in a NEW topic.. I'll call it PayPal WARNING, something like that - I'm behind on posting new topics here, because I am working on a new Vendor Blog and some things are better posted as a Blog 'Article' with links, images, etc. rather than a discussion that gets buried in a forum.

The bottom line? DO NOT trust PayPal with your money!! :o & that goes double for any vendors who SELL kratom using PayPal. Venmo is owned by PayPal and they have already sent out emails, Warning that the User Agreement and "Acceptable Use Policy", is the same for Paypal and Venmo.

Read their "Acceptable Use Policy" VERY carefully, and note that you give PayPal (and Venmo) permission to Charge a Fine of $2500 per Violation of their policy... Which says that kratom sales are prohibited using PayPal (and by extension, Venmo).

I really appreciate the replies.

Yeah, Ballz, I didn't know about that connection until last night, but after reading a slew of venmo consumer complaints, the similarity of problems with BOTH platforms was alarming. I remember reading somewhere that Venmo is run by the U.S. Treasurey - hahahahaaaaa!

If Venmo, AND co. become the preferred payment plans of the future, we are f*cked. Concerning kratom, It's a terrible mess. I get the feeling that many of the vendors who take CC and debit cards are just AKA Bagmen. I'd much rather stay with the smaller vendors, I mean for obvious reasons!! but until the Guyz in charge decide how they want to view kratom (and how they want US to moralize it)....we just have to keep getting inventive, I guess 8-) And the special cherry on the sh*t cake is Big Brother Pharma, pretending like they don't care when actually they would kill to get their filthy hands on it.

Anyway, thanks Gumby and Ace, we tried repeatedly to get an account up last night, Mr. Greyfeather actually had everything under control, but then we got locked out and couldn't get back in. So we're done with that.

Now we're looking at Zelle. I was uncertain because I didn't know if his bank does Zelle but they do. And I do understand that that doesn't mean the $$ is any safer that with Venmo.

It would be to easy to say that Kratom is a victim of its own success. Nah. As usual, something truly great comes along, then everyone wants a piece of it. I can't even begin to imagine all of the awful stuff going on behind the scenes. I don't know how Gumby and the other great vendors keep it together the way that they do  But you do - Bless y'all :)
I love Google Pay, but some vendors have to change their pay address so often, it's just ridiculous. Maybe if they have private memberships they could keep the snitch & tattle competitors OUT.
