Wild White Hulu Kapuas AIR-12 is my favorite. Genuinely PRIMO! It's breathtakingly invigorating for me. I also find it to be a synergetic strain. everything I have blended with it produces some lovely and beautiful burns

After more time to review/experiment with the three splits I bought from TFH, my favorite are:
1a. Wild Harvest Indo
1b. Wild Green Elephant
2. Super Red Sunda
3. Choco Bentaungie
4. Classic MD
5. 30yr Wild TFH (red)
Honorable mention to Rustic Bentaungie, Wild Premium Kali, Super Green Supreme.
Everything was good though, to be honest.

I’ve never seen wild green elephant when I bought for both of his recent sales. I’ve seen a few people mention it, is that another name he had for his green elephant Hulu? Because that is probably my favorite.Celestial-Oceanic wrote:After more time to review/experiment with the three splits I bought from TFH, my favorite are:

Re: What's your favorite TFH strain
My favorite has been the Red Maeng Da, but I've only tried a few of them so far. I mostly use kratom to help with anxiety, and that strain works fantastic for me. It was like a warm wave of calmness. I have also liked Wild Red Sumpur. The 24k Bali wasn't working for me as well, but tonight I tried blending it with the Wild Red Sumpur and got a great result. My other favorite is the coarse Slow Green. That one felt like the perfect mix of a green/red, with a great mood lift and motivation, but also some calmness.

When Gumbyke needs new testers for his new batches, just reply to the thread...you'll need to review each free sample he sends you via "study link" he uses to tweak product quality...hopefully soon he'll allow double m'ers to by product when he opens the business to members for a short period, until then...he has his own private members.

30 Year Wild TFH (Red) so far. There's nothing like it for pain relief.
In fact, I love it so much that I took too much on Wednesday and had my first Wobbles and Vomit. Guess I'm a proper kratomite now

Re: What's your favorite TFH strain
A few questions for you gumby, if you're able to disclose details.
Do you name/number any of the specific trees, or areas?
How do you refer to them when talking with your indo contact?
Do you have to specify between canopy, root, etc?
Do all the strain colors come from the same trees, or are there particular ones for whites/reds etc?
Do they keep a schedule of the last harvest so they don't pick the leaves too soon, or do they just go by look/feel?
If those are secrets of the trade, that's ok.
I'm just wondering because It seems like it would be very difficult to essentially farm remotely, from another country (whose native languages and measuring system are different) and do location planning and other very specific details over the internet. Sorry I kinda got carried away with questions once I started to think about it

Beat - you are correct in your thinking that I prefer not to share the details on our production. I'm very much an advocate of transparency in the industry, but some of the questions you ask hone in on some of the techniques that literally cost me substantial life savings and my sanity to develop. Something I will share is some of the things we have learned about kratom production are incredibly surprising... even sometimes counter-intuitive. Some of the things that might seem like it would obviously make better kratom, in fact, do not. I'll just say it's an interesting perspective and sometimes very difficult to keep to myself whenever I read/hear some things I know not to be true (at least not true in my experience). There might be a time in the future where we might share more about what we have learned - but for now, we are going to some of our learnings to ourselves.beathappening wrote:A few questions for you gumby, if you're able to disclose details.

The majority (not all) of our product comes from 1 source, and its the only place I have full influence over the product. What I will share is that it's incredibly challenging and its something I wouldnt be able to do without the close partnership of somebody over there who I knew before I ever got into the industry. The problem is you cannot trust anything any supplier tells/shows you - they know what you want to hear/see and will go to great lengths to deceive you. Some of them are incredibly skilled at it too... they will manipulate you with friendship and goodwill and will make you feel like you could trust them more than your grandmother. I'm not joking when I say that it can be emotionally taxing... it's really crushing to learn that somebody you have grown to trust is not at all trustworthy. Even a small operation I personally helped fund and develop deceived me ... it's really maddening. I am a bit conflicted sharing stuff like this because it makes it sound like everyone is a liar and cheater, but I have to say the Indonesian people are an amazing people... this is not a depiction of them as a whole. It's just the way the industry is set up - the suppliers know that if they dont feed you the fairy tales and sprinkles they dont stand a chance of keeping you as a buyer because all of their competitors will.
It's kind of like my old career in retail. Whenever we would travel to visit stores, the store leadership would spend days/weeks working around the clock to make their store looked amazing for the visit. When we got to a store, everyone in the room knew it was just a big dog and pony show - and yet every single store did it anyways. The goal of the store's leadership was to impress the visitors and trick them into believing all is well. The reason stores did this is because every other store did it. If you wanted to act with integrity and be the one store that didnt - well it wouldnt bode well for you!
However, I have to say that years of that really honed my ability to manage from far away and cut through the BS. I've worked through every store position in retail and during that time I never understood/appreciated what was required of a District/Regional Manager to lead/manage a business remotely until I became one. The success of my job (and ability to keep my job) was dependent on me being able to see through the store's deception to diagnose what is really going on in stores - even though I may only physically visit them once or twice a year. Surprisingly, all of that experience has proven to be extremely helpful in my kratom journey, I can't imagine where I would be if I hadn't had it! Just curious - are there any retail folks here who can relate to the insanity of "store visits"?
Sorry for the tangent - I got a little carried away there. Anyways, most (not all) of the suppliers in Indonesia do not actually have a hand in production (although they all will do anything to convince you they do) and many of them do not know anything about where the leaves come from (even when they think they do). Some suppliers that do have a hand in production have no accountability in playing by the rules you layout... even when you try just about every incentive structure you can imagine.
I mostly work overnights to be on Indonesian time in order to do a lot of checking of the checkers (this is why you can catch me on discord at 4am
Sorry, I couldn't share more, but I appreciate the curiosity!

Yeah I kinda figured. That's too bad, but understandable. I guess I thought some of the answers would result in being generalized enough to where absolute secrecy wasn't quite required. The technical details just intrigue me and I have a million esoteric questions. Perhaps you'll update your behind the scenes kratom thread at some point when you have some free time?

We've discussed it in the past, but yes you hit the nail on the head..."a dog and pony show.". It is indeed a role that depends on how well you can see through BS on a daily basis. And it pains me to see the times when those who can verbally express BS in a well spoken manner succeed ahead of those that are true leaders and the real winners. Anyway, thanks for the perfect analogy and the candidness.gumbyke1 wrote:Just curious - are there any retail folks here who can relate to the insanity of "store visits"?![]()

Ha, it’s the same song in the healthcare/treatment space. In my last job of 7 years, each time upper management was due for a visit, local management would become anxious. The tension they carried would definitely trickle down to the entire staff. I found that patients could pick up on the staff’s anxiety, and even use it to their advantage, picking on them during visits.gumbyke1 wrote: It's kind of like my old career in retail. The goal of the visitors was to asses the store's condition, provide recognition and encouragement for what they were doing well and coaching/support for the areas they needed to improve. Of course, the dog and pony show just made it more difficult for the visitors to provide the proper support.

Same thing would happen before visits from the state licensing board & prior to joint commission audits. There would be tireless preparation months in advance, with management losing their minds shooting for perfection. There’d even be “cheat sheets” given out to nurses, techs, counselors…just in case they were called upon during the audits.

Re: What's your favorite TFH strain
I worked in grocery stores and not 1 before. When the boss comes to check on their, everything done to the max to make it look well and good. They try to pick days where boss wont see the 7 area's of roof leaking water from ceiling and big buckets placed around the stores. All the problems in stock rooms are hidden as much as possible. Everything has to fly smooth like a rainbow colors. As soon the boss leaves everything back to normal how it use to be be. some employee's treated like shit, some leave new come once come in, bad communications between employment and management. Roofs still leaking, stock room is still a mess and does not look as good as the boss days. It a wild west. And i can totally understand what gumby has to go trough. I just had wild green 2g and red maeng 2g, All i can say you doing stuff right, i really cant wait till you open up again. the packages tightly sealed is just beyond beautiful and amazing, i can tell a lot of time has been put into. No fluff, the real deal, i am patiently waiting to try the new stuff soon. Hope you weed out the trouble makers and keep the legit sources around. And i am glad you got some boots on the ground to see whats going on.

Can anyone post a review or give an opinion on TFH “True Malaysian” wild green or wild elephant? Chris was asking $45 for 250 grams and I was wondering if anyone felt the extra cost was worth it, and would buy it again.

Re: What's your favorite TFH strain
I got the Malaysian elephant. Honestly, I think it is one of my favorites from this last year (If not all time). The first time I took it I didn't get much. The second time knocked me on my ass! And loved it since. It's definitely on the slower side, I would say. It's the sweetest smelling kratom I have ever smelled. I would totally buy again!RumRunner wrote:Can anyone post a review or give an opinion on TFH “True Malaysian” wild green or wild elephant? Chris was asking $45 for 250 grams and I was wondering if anyone felt the extra cost was worth it, and would buy it again.

Man, that’s good to know. Does it have a different alkaloid profile? When your regular rotation isn’t quite working, does the Mayalsian break through a bit better?JHole wrote:I got the Malaysian elephant. "Just curious - are there any retail folks here who can relate to the insanity of "store visits"?"
Gumbyke... I know exactly what you are talking about. I work as a Server for The Cheesecake Factory, which is one of the countries most popular restaurants. It just so happened that we put on this same exact "show" last week. Last week we had a "NewMenu Roll-out" which occurs every six months where we had some new items to our menu. Corporate always comes when we have these roll-outs, and for about 2 weeks prior to Corporate coming, management actually, well, manages LOL. The store I work at is terrible as far as management and staff doing their jobs. Nobody cares and our General Manager is barely there (despite supposed to work 50-60 hours). It's insane how little they care about staff doing their side-work and what they are supposed to do to keep the store running in top safe.
Anyways, for the past two weeks, and this happens like you said before every corporate visit, Management is very strict about people cleaning and looking sharp and doing things the right way in general. The General Manager actually works during this time. We label the entire store, do extra cleaning to get the place looking like its brand new. Corporate comes, the store looks great and is runs great. And then Corporate leaves and I haven't seen the General Manager since they left Haha!! And now its back to business as usual, where staff and management doesn't care about doing their jobs properly. They all just want to leave as fast as possible. It's pretty annoying for me, as I transferred to the Raleigh location from South Florida and the Cheesecake Factory I worked at in Florida was run in top condition every single day.
So yeah I absolutely can relate to the dog-n-pony show. I just went through it again a week ago

Oh gumby I forgot to say thank you for all the information that you gave me. Even though it wasn't everything I wanted to know it was still very insightful and I appreciate it all the all the same. Any insider information into the world of kratom growing and cultivating is endlessly interesting to me. So anytime you can share bits of information here and there it definitely doesn't go unappreciated and I'm sure most people here feel the same way.
