What RVA Strain is Like Gaia's Red Bali?

Gaia's Red Bali is one of my all time favorites, but I really don't want to deal with them anymore. I tried a [purchase method] which they just set up recently, but it's funneled through some Chinese company & my bank went completely ballistic when I tried to complete the purchase, which my bank strongly advised against. So here I am. I've tried RVA's Red Jong Kong, Red Ketapang, Red Bali, Red Borneo,
& none of them are what I'm looking for. I don't want any stimulation - my body can't take that. Just the sedation/warm smoothie, pain killing kratom. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure if you've ever used Botanical Bunny but they have their Chocolate Jong Kong in stock and that has the sedative, pain killing qualities that you've mentioned.

I always use it before bed because it knocks me out. I have a review for it in the review section.

I went to order a sample of the Chocolate and place my first order with BB and when I got to check out they wanted to put an additional fee on top of my order. I didn't like that so I didn't place the order.

Yup, I placed an order recently and there was a $3+ fee on top of the Botanical Bunny total. I was -none- too pleased.

The shipping was also quite high, $13.95 for just over a kilo. By way of contrast, last week another vendor sent me more than that by both volume and weight -- close to 2 kilos -- for the actual cost of the USPS Priority Flat Rate Box they used (just under $7).

I haven't gotten the BB order yet, so I don't know what shipping they're actually using that would justify the high fee, but the site said USPS Priority. They're in Houston and I'm in South Carolina. So... what gives???

The 25% off is only for this week, going by the post they made in the vendor section that Beat linked above. Without that temporary promo discount, they're at $100 a kilo for any size pack -- and that's BEFORE shipping and BEFORE the additional $3+ checkout fee.

I have my eye on this. I like their leaf and their customer service very much, and I do respect that they need to make a living, but... I ain't feelin the love right now.

EDITED TO ADD: I got the box, and it was a commercial USPS priority mail regional flat rate box A, zone 5, costing $8.15 retail to ship according to USPS. There was no additional packaging or wrapping, just the box and the kratom, and USPS provides the boxes free. So that’s a $5.80 surcharge on shipping.

The Payment Processor situation is so screwed up right now - It almost decides WHO to order from!

Kats Botanicals has a new website with HUGE selection. He's got amazing stuff ... But same ol' Payment issues - However I think they just fixed that ? 8000 members in his Facebook group I have tried his Red Batak and it's a strong Red, but he stocks "Wild Red Bali" and Dark Elephant and Chocolate strains.. definitely Sample a few ounces.

SoCal Herbal Remedies is known for having good Red Bali - and big variety - Last month there was a crazy RUN on their Red Bali when word got around it was very, very, strong .. He sold out 200 kilos within 3 days. He even posted on their FB Group "Something is going on with our Red Bali" .. haha. I grabbed a kilo it's very nice. They have a Code: SAMPLE9 at Checkout to sample 9 ounces Mix & Match for around $30 bucks.

Yeah they seem to be out right now. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on some of that Chocolate from BB. We'll see how well it does.

Strange. I literally just ordered from them 2 seconds ago and there was no $3 charge and shipping was $4 but free with the SHIPFREE coupon....

I didn't use the 25OFF coupon. I always just use the SHIPFREE coupon for free shipping. They've had the shipping coupon for as long as I've been ordering from them. I'll pm you.

Sorry to threadjack, but has anyone tried the white bali at RVA?

I haven't, but I've only heard good things about RVA Balis, both white and red, and last year's white was said to be very smooth, a steady energy that doesn't smack you upside the head. It sounded great and I was interested in getting some, but at the time I was hesitant to try whites at all (I tend to be jittery anyway) so I didn't.

Isn't harvest season coming up? That's when I -really- want to try a bunch of strains, because we'll be getting the best of the year's offerings.

Sorry to threadjack, but has anyone tried the white bali at RVA?

I have the June batch. It's an atypical white not as speedy as his other whites, and has some relaxing and euphoric properties but it's a light mellow feeling, not heavy. It goes okay by itself but I prefer to use it in blends, with gold Bali or super green it's terrific. For me, it's not stimulating enough by itself to take it by itself in the morning, I need more of a jolt.

I am still in the process of pinning it down, I need to take something more than a few times to really notice all the subtleties.
