I'm looking to give Kava a try. Does anyone use it during Kratom breaks? Can one still get a good Kratom tolerance "reset" when using Kava?
I looked a various sites and "Kalm with Kava" seems to be the most reasonably priced but at the same time kinda' gimmicky (but that's just my opinion.) There Concentrate looked interesting until I noticed it contains 15% alcohol! I won't be trying that!
I'm looking at trying their Micronized Kava - Vanuatu Borongoru Kava and Samoa Ava Kava are the two I think I'm most interested in.
Has anyone used anything from this site? Is the seemingly "ease of use" for a beginner too good to be true?
Edit: I could have sworn I read all the Kava posts before I fell asleep last night. Turns out there's a couple of mentions already about Kalm with Kava. Sorry for the redundancy. I must have been sleepier than I thought. Regardless, maybe someone newer to the board will see this that has experience with KWK. Thanks again.
I finally decided to place my first order with KWK. I got 2oz. each of Micronized Tonga Pouni Ono, Vanuatu Borogu, and Vanuatu Borongoru. What I was going for was one for morning / daytime use, one for mid-afternoon and one late afternoon / evening.
I'm assuming by the lack of response that not many Kratomites here use Kava. Maybe after I try it I'll discover why. Or maybe I'll fall in love with it Time will tell.

Yeah, it's kind of a ghost town. I thought people might be interested in a subforum to discuss kava here, but based on the response so far, I'm guessing not. It was worth a shot.
You never know, E, it could take off yet. Just before the Reddit ban wave in March, kava mentions were getting fairly frequent on the sub and we're still getting back to that. For myself I'm definitely reading everything posted here, just don't have anything to contribute in return... sorry 'bout that. But I'm sure they'll be along, those who do.
I'm on my 2nd full day of a Kratom break - substituting with Kava which I received from KWK yesterday. From yesterday's evening session (Vanuatu Borongoru micronized Kava) I received virtual no effects (3 cups within 2+ hours), but did sleep fairly well. This morning I started my Kava session about an hour after waking up. Used KWK's Tonga Pouni Ono micronized Kava this time which they say is more suited for daytime Kava sessions. This time I up'd my doses from 3+3+4 teaspoons for each cup to 4+4+6 teaspoons. (Seems to blend and taste much better in milk than juice.) This time the Kava hit me... pretty hard. I'm not sure if it's because I up'd the teaspoons or if because my reverse tolerance was fairly short. IF I do a late afternoon session, I'll most likely go back down to 3 teaspoons of the micronized Kava.
In short, as of right now, I enjoy Kratom much more. This morning's Kava session had sort of "drunk" (krunk??) effects on me. Maybe those are the "heady" effects Kava drinkers talk about. Me? I'm not a fan. Maybe I took too much this morning, so I shouldn't be too quick to judge. But, I haven't felt any euphoria as of yet. Mood is ok, but not much of a boost. I'm looking forward to getting back to my good 'ol Kratom. But keep in mind, I'm biased. Maybe I'm just used to the "feel" of Kratom. (I certainly didn't expect it to be the same. Two totally different herbs.)
Oh... the taste of micronized Kava? The taste while drinking it did not put me off at all. To me, it wasn't strong at all. BUT, the aftertaste, that lingers for a couple hours (IF you don't brush your teeth... and even a little bit afterward) is god awful, in my opinion. I'll be brushing my teeth after every session from now on. It's a familiar taste, but I just can't put my finger on exactly what it is.
No problems with the company Kalm with Kava whatsoever. Quick shipping and apparently good Kava, I just don't think it's for me. But, I probably shouldn't be too quick to judge. YOU be the judge, if you should desire giving it a try. And I would definitely recommend KWK to get your Kava from. In my research, they are highly touted and always within the top 2-3 vendors recommended by Kava drinkers.
I have been ordering from KWK for about a year and go through phases where I use micronized Pouni Ono multiple times per day for a month or 2 then take a month off. It eliminates the need to take benzos for anxiety. I literally have meds from last year and that was not the case before I found Kava.
I like to mix 5g KWK with 8g Kratom (a fast white). My wife and I call it the mink coat - Kratom with a mink because it makes the experience soft and luxurious!
I also have been keeping a bag of Loa Waka and use it if I am taking a break from the micronized or it I run out. I prepared with hot water and coconut or almond milk. It is a pain to make so I will make a quart or so and keep it in the fridge to use for a few days. When I prepare this way I don’t mix with Kratom but I may take them together separately.
I have tried Kava extract and tea from a few other vendors and nothing compares to KWK in my opinion.
just ordered a large, 8oz jar of the fiji loa waka or whatever the name is type kava. they say its the strongest strain, balanced heady and heavy strain. its the micronized type, i will update with a review once i try it. i guess kava attaches to your gaba receptors just like phenibut so im curious how it is. because i didnt think phenibut was all that intense to be honest, maybe since its a white powder i expected more from phenibut, but i wasnt all that impressed. phenibut wasnt good enough for me to get hooked on it like people say, so im curious how this kava will be . hopefully better than phenibut
Ordered 8oz Micronized Jiji Loa Kava from kalmwithkava.com on august 8th in the evening, arrived august 12th, would have arrived on the 11th but it was a sunday, faster shipping direct from their website than ordering it on amazon. And the cooler thing is that they sent me two 8oz containers for the price of one , lol. They packaged up two separate shipments, both with the same shipping label and same tracking number, so i think they accidentally packaged it twice. Its cool with me, two 8oz jars for 52plus8shipping.
I dosed 2 teaspoons, not much feeling, tried one more teaspoon 30 min later, waiting for feeling now. I probably have reverse tolerance so i will update when i figure out how much it takes for me to feel nice. Taken two hours after dosing morning kratom

You could very well be in the reverse tolerance stage...although not everyone experiences that...I did not. I like KWK's micronized, but you may not be taking enough. You need AT LEAST one TABLESPOON, I get best results from 2 TBLS. Also you need a COMPLETELY EMPTY stomach...If I have anything in my belly, I get little to NO results...and chug down the brew all at once...good luck, I'm re-ordering from them today....May also try Bula Kava House 7 year WAKA...I like that one a lot, but they are sold out often. Strong stuff.
I used to have Kalm with Kava’s drinks/beverages years ago. Their soda is really delicious (I do not know if they still sell it but it has a real orange flavor to it). I noticed a soothing effect when taken, a real nice warmth and just a general glow of happiness. I can vouch that this is a good brand.
I'm an on and off again customer with them and I always like their stuff. Like someone above mentioned, I actually don't mind this taste. Am I nuts for thinking it tastes like some kind of soup-y hot chocolate and marshmellow? I probably am crazy. It's a bit on the price-y side but it's consistent.
Regardless, maybe someone newer to the board will see this that has experience with KWK. Thanks again.
