I always associate smoking with Tool. Spent many a late summer night with my friend - her and I smoking ourselves stupid while Tool played in the background lol. That band was the official soundtrack to my late teens and early 20s, and remains my favorite band of all time with Undertow being my absolute favorite album of all time.

Some of my favorite Tool tracks:

Forty Six & 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm38Ojh61lY
jimmy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uc9r1uf5ms
Prison Sex - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrpIJFm9JTE

Thank you for posting those. I like Tool, but the only one I'm familiar with is Lateralus. Yes, Tool would be another great band to smoke yourself stupid to.

Tool is and will always be my favorite band. Lateralus might be my favorite song, that breakdown part with the crazy bass “with my feet upon the ground...” straight fire.

Also undertow is my least favorite of their albums but I think I’m younger so that might have something to do with it. After undertow which in my opinion was more straightup rock they got really crazy on Aenima and more so on lateralus.

I don’t know how many of you guys like singer songwriter music, but I am a Singer songwriter who wrote a lot about using drugs/that lifestyle. I no longer can sing those songs for obvious reasons they make me feel uncomfortable, so I have been working on making a new ep. I have the songs just haven’t had the time to record them yet.(one day hopefully i can share a song with yall) Anywho one of my favorite singer songwriters Simone Felice wrote a song about addiction and redemption that I thought atleast someone here could relate to. It’s called To be you, to be me—by Simone Felice on his new album the projector I’m gonna try to include link but if you YouTube that you’ll find it. https://youtu.be/wDa_-0af41w

I spent half the day trying to remember the name of this group. I remembered that the name of one of their songs was Redemption, but did it come up in a Youtube search. Hell no. Got Bob Marley and a bunch of other stuff though. I finally had to go downstairs to storage, move a bunch of boxes off the top of a very large box full of CDs and start digging. Of course it was at the very bottom.

Just saw this thread and as some others have said it’d probably take a few days to list all of my favorite songs. But a few are:

Neil Young: “Long May You Run” and “Powderfinger”
Pink Floyd: “Time”’ “Fearless”’ and “One of these Days”
Fleetwood Mac: “Albatross”
Government Mule: “Almost Cut My Hair Today”
Dylan: “Knocking on Heavens Door”
Willie Nelson: “Pancho and Lefty”
Morphine: “Cure for Pain”
Blind Melon: “Change”
Bob Marley: “No Woman No Cry”, “Stir It Up”, and “Trenchtown Rock”
Grateful Dead: “Fire On the Mountain”, “Ripple”, and “Franklin’s Tower”

Gotta stop. This could go on awile.

Boston, "Peace of Mind".... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edwk-8KJ1Js

In the 90's, there was a radio show named, "Rockline". It was a weekly show where bands would be on the radio, and answer questions from fans (on the phone (pre-internet)). I was working in a shop and heard that Boston would be that week's band. I had this uber phone that would auto-dial numbers if they were busy. I rushed home from work and used the phone to dial Rockline... and got through! I got to talk to Tom Scholz. See, you had to ask an original question, or they wouldn't air it. I knew that Tom Scholz had made, "Cool the Engines" from Third Stage out of a classical piece in C sharp, but when I spoke to him, he corrected me and told me that it was in C natural. Anyway, he told me that it was a great question and he'd tell me why. When he was a child, his grandma would make him sit in a corner and listen to classical music. So, he thought it would be a great revenge on ol' grandma to take a classical piece and turn it into a rock song. He asked me if I'd like an autographed CD, and of course, I said yes. It was a CD of, "Walk On". It has all of the signatures of Boston. Even though it's worth a pretty penny, I'll never sell it.

As a kid, I liked Boston so much that I used a bunch of these for my guitar tone. https://www.rockman.fr/Story/Modules.htm

The other kids made fun of me because I played an Ibanez Rocket Roll2 Flying V through an original Sunn stack with Rockman effects. Metal was popular at the time. I wish I still had all of it! The Sunn amp would probably be worth thousands now.

Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon! I remember playing that 8 track over and over while we were in the back of my boyfriend's Chevy van doing Lord knows what! Then we would throw in Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs.

I don't remember much from the seventies (hee hee) but I damn sure remember the music!

Tool is my favorite band also, more of a lateralus/ænima/10k days fan but their first two are awesome too. I just like the more produced sound of the last three. Looking forward to new album hopefully this summer, never thought we'd be approaching 10,000 days from the time of that album to the follow up.

Was driving home from work today and decided to put on and justice for all. The song one is up there on my list, the part right before the solo is so brutally awesome, been some years since I've heard it so it hit the right spot for me today

Could you imagine being blind and deaf with no arms and legs. Especially if it happened while fighting in a war you may or may not agree with. So terrifying, that video made me tell the wife to kill me if that ever happened.

Civilian by Wye Oak has been absolutely stuck in my head all week since I've been rewatching The Walking Dead. It plays during Season 2 when Rick and Shane are driving in the car after their infamous "heart to heart" scene.

Killer Bud by Snow Bud and The Flower People

Got me a Lid of some pretty good grass
Got some hash that'll kick your ass
My buddy offered me, I had to pass
'Cuz the Killer Bud, may be my last.

I smoked Alaskan Thunder Fuck... Acapulco Gold
Panama Red, was the best, I was told
Smoked Maui Wowee...
'Til my eyes turned red
But the Killer Bud
Really knocked me dead

Killer Bud
Stoned To The Bone

I'm on a 60s kick tonight and this came up

Pictures of Matchstick Men - Status Quo

It's live and I mean REALLY live. There are a couple times when he breaks out in a big smile, almost laughter, while he's singing and you can hear the smile in his voice. I love it!
