Double SOSA Sampler order

Post by acejestyr15 »

I absolutely cannot wait for my 2 9oz sample packs to arrive tmrw!!! I have really been loving SOSA's strains most lately and this order will pretty much catch me up on all of his green and red strains that I haven't been able to try yet minus just a small few mostly consisting of some of the Agus Bone varieties. The list of strains I'll be receiving is....
Red Thai
Red Thai
Red Banjar
Red Banjar
Red Elephant
Red Elephant
Red Kali
Super red
Red Malay

Red Jungle
Red Bali
Green Kali
Green Elephant
Green Banjar
Green Vietnam
Green Aceh
Green Riau
Green Jungle

Any opinions? Any suggestions on what to try at what times of day? Keep in mind I absolutely need my heavy strains for bedtime hence my doubling up on Red Banjar and Red Elephant based on what I've heard about them here and also the Red Thai because anywhere else I've ever tried Red Thai it's usually a standout favorite of mine. When I first started ordering my favorite strain quickly became Herbal Salvation's Red Thai from March 2018 I believe. But anyways, all other opinions on this list or experiences would be much appreciated, thanks!!

I have five of those...red banjar, red Malay, red Bali, I inquired about the best slowest reds and this is what he recommended. I'm like you, I need the heavy strains, if I wanted a daytime red I'd just take a green. Also have the green banjar and green Kali, which I picked just because I've never had either strain before and I like the names :geek:
I'll probably sample the red malay tonight for the first time.

What a coincidence! I'm also getting a red sampler from SOSA delivered tomorrow! I asked him for some reds that were especially good with pain and ordered a sampler of the seven red strains he recommended.

Red Vein Borneo
Red Bali
Red Banjar
Red Jungle
Red Indo
Red Hulu Kapuas
Red Malay

It looks like we'll both be getting Red Banjar, Red Kali, Red Jungle and Red Malay. It's going to take me at least a week to check these all out but I'll be eager to see what you think of them!

I wonder if the jungle strains are from the same supplier as RVA's jungles. Those didn't do much for me.

I believe the green kali and elephant are from march.

Yes I do believe you are correct about them being from March. I have been outta work for about 4 to 4 n a half months give or take and haven't been able to order much since around New years. So now I'm resuming my sampling and picking up where I left off since they were my most recent favorite vendor and still had a lot left I wanted to try.... Plus they mentioned when I ordered they just received multiple shipments they are in process of unpacking and will be listing by Monday night latest 8-)

I will try the red tonight most likely but won't be able to try the green until at least Thursday cuz on of my sample packs was sent all wrong so have to wait for replacement which should arrive Thursday around 11:30am est. Will make new posts or at very least edits as I try things and discover my standout favorites...

I got the Red Jungle, been already 12 hours since last dose, was going for 30 hours but so tempted to break it, shall i?

Edit: well i did it, 6grams.

Nice clean chill feel, just what i need on my day off, just kicking up my legs and watching some videos. I love clean feel kratom with a happy mood feel, I felt medium sedation and pretty mild smooth energy flow, reminds me of lizas white banja except with a kick of calm serenity to it, everything just calm. I enjoy this, its different then most kratom out there in its own way. I can see how this could be used for work on long hour shifts like last 3 hours or so. But mostly, very nice to have a dose, when you come home from work or just on a day off to hang out with your buddys. Thats just what i would use it for. I can see if you are very tired how this can be good sleeping strain. But i just woke up few hours back so i am good. I personaly enjoy it, but i would still get a sample instead going for 1 review and ending up not liking it.

edit again, been over 1 hour and iam getting slight sleepy. I think its still growing. I enjoy the feel. Starts off slow smooth but you can feel most at 1 hour mark.

I also think most sosa stuff, has some of the coolest reds, smiley has some of the best greens. Sometimes i do 50 50 mixing boths of those vendors to get the best out of it.

edit again. now i feel very sleepy, i was watching video and realized i closed my eyes. So for sure great relaxing night time strain and would not use it for work. I can see how little of red jungle and smileys #3 can be nice combo, i ll have to try that later.

edit again, i think i should of just added time stamps, been over 3 hours and still feel same, video finished and no i did not fall asleep, just washed my face and back to another video, reminds me of first time kratom use when everything stands out clean and sharp with a great mood lift. I am convinced all kratomites who order red jungle will be one happy camper. Oh and did i say, you dont even have to go to jungle to get it? :P :)

aslo before i forget, i did try the sample of green Vietnam when sosa send me, i think its a decent strain for work. it does what it suppose too, i am bad with details but it did wake me up feel to it, so far i enjoy most reds from sosa. I do have some smiley coming in, cant wait to try wild red borneo everyone raving about. I want to see if its similar to red jungle? because i always enjoyed smiley stuff. Been rotating strains with smiley and sosa with sometimes Liza's stuff. depending what i want to feel.

I also think everyone who try new strain should at least give 12 hour break from kratom, that way 4 hour or 6 hour might overlap with the new one, and can easily be mistaken how it makes you feel. 12 hours seems like i always feel a strain even considered crappy strain.

Tried the green banjar today. It was only the first time but I didn't get much. It felt fast but not in a good way. I took some red banjar not long after, also for the first time, and it smoothed it out completely. Not too sedating, but relaxing with a pronounced feeling of well being and a mood lift I really needed. I don't think I'm getting the full picture since I had taken the green prior, but it certainly has potential for when I take a full dose on it's own. I will have to revisit both because the first time isn't always definitive.

The white motan is really good. I reviewed it in the daily burn thread but to paraphrase...fast, euphoric physically and mentally, I don't have pain but it seems like it might be decent in that area, and it also had long legs. It took an hour to kick in, but it hit all at once suddenly. I went on a 3-4 mile walk and was still feeling it hours later. Definitely a standout.

Some thoughts on the red bali...
Slow and mellow. Very relaxing but not at all sedating. Effects are somewhat subtle. A bit of a creeper for me, took longer than usual to become noticeable. I had some light hip pain from sleeping weird last night, but this sorted that out. Not exactly a couchlocker but definitely didn't feel like doing anything, content to watch the game on TV. Not sure about the legs yet. Overall a good early evening strain.

Great assessment from what I have noticed this far!!! That is like right on point with my experience last few days.... I have been trying to decide how I felt about it but reading your review brought it to light for me thanks haha.

I enjoy creepers, it sounds very similar to red jungle from sosa. I wonder if its something to do with the seasons. At first you think you feel nothing then it starts to creep up and build up, its def something really cool to experience. Knowing that everything will be unwind-ed and mellowed out at the end of a busy day. Its kind of like, oh, just wait, just wait, oh nice, i like this. :P By the way, braggs apple cider to me does make it more edged. I tried many times with out and with out. I am convinced it helps a great deal.

Sosa just added a bunch of new string drieds and rack drieds. Thankfully he fixed his site so they're on different pages now, it was quite confusing before. He has stem&vein now too.

Anyway, apparently he also has a Green Thai that is unlisted on his site. I received it instead of a green vietnam, I told him it wasn't on there, but whatever. It's pretty good, its midspec. Not very heavy but not fast either. Relaxing with anxiety relief. Pretty similar to the Green Kali, except the Kali is a bit more euphoric. Both would be good midday strains, but I'd stay away from them in the morning, they're not slow but they are pretty chill, if that makes sense. I may edit this review after I try both again at a different time of day.

I like the premium better than the rack dried, from what I read here, they were all string dried but I guess there is a difference? Idk, the premiums all seem to be more of a coarse grind? They are my personal favorites right now :D

Looking for some opinions on these new SOSA red and greens. The one order I got from SOSA, the 3/1 batches were not too good. The red and green sumatra did nothing for me, the yellow md however was good, but I hear all the other batches have been fire so I am super interested in this new batch.

the red sumatra doesnt really do anything for me either, the sample i got was fire and when i got the 250g it fell flat.

the yellow md i got a month ago is great. only been using it sparingly as i only have like 80g of it left.

On the site, the rack dried are now on a separate page from the string dried, so it's easier to understand now. I'm still confused about how it was before tbh :?

I've never really had any issues at all, that's weird. I get the whole sit being tough to understand thing that's for sure!!! But any convos I've ever had with him is always great and rather easily understandable....

Re: Double SOSA Sampler order

Post by acejestyr15 »

Okay so I am finally going to lay down this huge review that has since become even bigger.... Long story short is one of the two samplers I ordered was sent entirely wrong and full of all whites fast yellow, red Maeng da, and super green all which I didn't order and honestly wouldn't have ordered except for the yellow MD cuz I do like it on my much needed energy additions to blends now and again. BUT, 2 of the whites have quickly become some fav strains of mine and the Super green as well is now ranking high for slow euphoric greens!! All in all it worked out very well, Ben at SOSA quickly sent me.out a.new sampler in which sent me an additional 100g of Red Sunda which has just arrived and he knew.i had been asking about for weeks.... Plus he doubled the amounts of almost every strain in the sampler I didn't originally receive as well which is absolutely amazing service and above and beyond an average/normal remedy if ya ask me!!!!

In order to save time and space due to this being around 20ish strains give or take I am going to make groups/categories of burn types and if anyone wants specifics on certain strains please ask away and or even shoot me a PM! Let me also start by saying for anyone who doesn't know me or my story I have multiple chronic pain issue, depression, worst insomnia ever, and trouble focusing lots of times due to prior mentioned issues lol. Because of these thing I typically prefer slower speed strains with good mood boost, pain relief, euphoria, and some relaxation of both mind and body. That being said I do try and keep a good variety of different strains from different vendors for tolerance and blending purposes still tho! That being said here's what I thought....

SLOW REDS in order from slowest gradually going up- Red Malay, Red Sunda, Red Jungle, Red Elephant, Red Kali (kinda slow-mid and bold listings we're the standouts) the standouts were incredible night time burns super strong pain relief, mood boost, greatly needed sedation/relaxation at my usual bedtime amount, heavy euphoria and really everything I want for night time burns.

MID-FAST REDS(I refer to as daytime reds)- Red Kali, Red Thai were the standout daytime reds since they were well rounded. I am still mostly undecided about the Super Red and Red MD as I have had mixed results. Red Vietnam and Red Bali had incredible analgesic qualities which totally melted way all aches and pains but they were rather bland aside from pain relief... And the Red Banjar was pretty much a dud for me.so far which I'm not totally mad about it's 1 out of 20 or so lol.

SLOW EUPHORIC GREENS- Super Green, Green Elephant, Green Kali, and Green Jungle which is little more mid spec speed wise along with Agus Green Bone F3. Anyone who is a big fan of SLOW EUPHORIC GREENS know this category doesn't need too much explaining as these strains are highly sought after by this particular group of enthusiasts!! In which case may want to also check out White Bali, White Motan, and Yellow Vietnam and I'm saying this as someone who has never enjoyed a white strain except for RVA White Bali so.....

MID SPEC GREENS- This category I have not had too much luck with in which case isn't too big of a deal for me as I usually only keep a small handful of them.in my inventory anyhow. Not too much luck only.meaning that these 2 or 3 strains we're standouts at all just good average burns in my opinion.... Green Aceh, Green Banjar, and Green Riau (listed from from most to least liked)

FAST BURNS- (listed from highest speed to lowest) White Hulu, Yellow MD, White Jungle, Green Vietnam, and I have not tried the White MD that I have as if yet. As I said before I usually don't like fast strains as they ramp up my anxiety and mostly make me quite irritable hence not like the White Hulu personally at all.... It made me extremely irritable!!! The Yellow MD is quite energetic as well so much so that I need to blend it with mid spec or slower strains to achieve burns I enjoy. And the White jungle was also write fast for me bust a usable and enjoyable energy although I felt it had very short duration to the burn. And Green Vietnam is everything that I like in an energetic strain as it still provides good analgesia, solid mood boost, and it has nice long legs to get through most of the day as needed.

I may have missed a couple strains and will add to this is I figure out which ones they are or have any other notes. I have also tried and bulk ordered many of the string dried strains previously which I enjoy the most of any Kratom I've ever had so far, and I have made reviews for them in the past so can look back at that info as well.... I fell the string dried strains stay rather consistent and batches don't stray too far if st all from the one prior to it.

"Fantanstical" reviews, ace. As you know, I had already decided on strains I wanted to
order with several other vendors. I've wrestled with this for the last two days...do I
want this strain, do I want that strain, which vendors do I pick this time around... :?
I think everybody knows how crazy difficult it is to pull the proverbial trigger!

Sadly, at least one vendor will now have to wait a week or so cuz I'm changing one
of them to SOSA. (all your fault  ) Whichever vendor I choose to forego will
get my order eventually, just not this week! Thanks to your reviews, I've been able to
easily decide which strains I'll order saving me hours of hand-wringing and order
"change-ups!" :)

Now I can go all OCD and "commodity lust" for next week's orders without stressing out
about this week's orders! Does that make me a sicko?!?!? :?

This is exactly what I go through every time I place an order. So much so that I have to place multiple orders with multiple vendors instead of just one at a time. I just can’t make up my mind. And I am also replacing one of this week’s orders with a Sosa order for this exact reason. Thanks ace and everyone here for being so helpful! I wouldn't say a huge difference in strength more like difference in quality and consistency. The string dried have almost all been winners at least what I have tried thus far and they are all ground nice and fine, smell super fresh, and like I said the consistency is the huge part for me!!! The string drieds seem to be the same from batch to batch a lot more often then what I'd imagine the rack dried strains are.

I have to say, after further testing, all the reds I got this time are subpar. Red banjar, red malay, and red bali. None of them do much for me. Same with the green Thai. The only ones I got that I really like are white motan (which is awesome), yellow Vietnam, and green Kali. The white Bali is kinda weak too imo. I'm kinda disappointed, as these were the ones that were recommended by Sosa. But that's how it goes with kratom. Their red sunda was so awesome I was hoping the other reds would be too. If there's any interest I would consider trading or selling them but I'll probably just put them away to age.

I'm kinda disappointed, as these were the ones that were recommended by Sosa. But that's how it goes with kratom. Their red sunda was so awesome I was hoping the other reds would be too. If there's any interest I would consider trading or selling them but I'll probably just put them away to age.
Thank you - I thought it was just me. Underwhelmed by everything and most were his recommendations.

I have just noticed while about to place a bulk order that there are once again a few strains that I have not tried yet that were added in last 2 to 3 weeks. Does anyone have any info/opinions on the Red Aceh, Red and Green Jong Kongs, Red Bentuangie, and or Green Horn strains?! Any and all info would be much appreciated as always! Thanks much.

I had the green Horn from march, it was a good fast morning strain, one of my favorites :D

Thank you very much CfB that is helpful and at least gets me some progress on the info I'm hunting for, much appreciated! As well as sounds like a strain I may need for my arsenal as I rarely search for faster burns but my new job is pushing me to get some more for fast paced days at work

The new string dried yellow Maeng da is a hit with me. First got a sample, then 250 grams, and now couldn’t resist but to order a kilo today. This is some strong shit. As I’ve stated before my tolerance is jacked up. I’ve actually been taking during the day and gives me excellent energy and great mood lift.

I’ve tried ordering from SOSA. I heard rumblings that communication was poor. Unfortunately that has been my experience as well. They replied quick to initial email and asked me I was ok with the international shipping timeframe (I live in Canada) and I replied that it was fine. Never heard from them again.

Just received a fresh sampler that included pretty much the last of the greens and reds that I have not tried as of yet.... Red Aceh, Red Bentuangie, and Red and Green JongKongs. I will be back to edit or bump post my feelings on these newbies as I have sample almost every strain SOSA has offered this year besides most known super fast whites as they are not my cup of tea.... Pun totally unintended but I'll roll with it

As always give a shout if anyone has any questions on any of the current SOSA offerings as I'm sure I could at very least give my personal insight and opinion on the types of burns I experienced.

Same here B, quote][/ Their red sunda was so awesome I was hoping the other reds would be too. If there's any interest I would consider trading or selling them but I'll probably just put them away to age.],I was going to sell them, but put them away, came back later they were better,,but mixing them with favorite greens seem to add to increase overall effects
