kava with kratom or kava without kratom
I am currently a daily kratomite and soon I am planning to stop or take a prolonged Tolerance break due to concerns about Testosterone. Experienced kava and kratomites, Is kava and kratom combined a great synergy or should I wait until I stop taking kratom daily to use kava during that time to help with the WD?

Re: kava with kratom or kava without kratom
Also I have read user reports from people saying kava is more like a mild cannabis than kratom. Can anyone elaborate on the kava - cannabis similarity. TIA

I would be interested in this information as well. I've never taken kava, but plan on getting some soon to try it out. I hope we can expand out the kava section on this site too.

I bought 4 samples of Kava, doubled up the dose because..of course I would, and it made me feel a little off for about an hour and that was it.

Kava is sorta like a mix between booze and cannabis. Very mild on the spectrum of that combo but it is relaxing/calming and can make one more sociable. I haven't been drinking so I use it for social events and also for when I am just hanging out in my hammock reading. As for not getting effects the first few times there are many reports of reverse tolerance in regards to kava. That is to say that it can take a few tries before you get the full effects.

Very interesting, thanks for the info! Sounds like it might make for a relaxing drink after dinner. Thanks for the heads up on the reverse tolerance too - always good to know things like this before trying a new product for the first time. Think I'm going to take the leap next week! What vendors do you recommend?ChristOnABiscuit wrote:Kava is sorta like a mix between booze and cannabis. Kalm with kava micronized is the one I read about. Any other good instant kava recommendations?

First post on the doublem corner of the web... Just wanted to chime in that Kava basically is useless on a full stomach. Even more so than kratom its best empty. Best way I've found is on a kava night to take an earlier lunch and then drink your kava over the course of an hour or so after work and then have dinner around 30 minutes after you stop drinking kava.e_poison wrote:Very interesting, thanks for the info! You'll defintely want to get a sampler pack as they all are pretty different. I thought I'd like the heavier ones, but turns out I like the "Heady" strains much more. Even those don't make me wired, but give me positive vibes. The heavy ones tend to depress me somehow.

Re: kava with kratom or kava without kratom
Welcome to the forum! Thanks for the heads up, that's very good information to know. I guess I won't take it around meal times then. So, it follows the general "1 hour before / 4 hours after" rule? That's what I try to stick to with kratom too.kw2292 wrote:First post on the doublem corner of the web... Just wanted to chime in that Kava basically is useless on a full stomach. Nice, I will most likely be trying a sample pack to test the different types and make sure that I like kava before I go all in.kw2292 wrote:You'll defintely want to get a sampler pack as they all are pretty different. Re: kava with kratom or kava without kratom
This is very true. I don't take kava for several hours after eating. I do exactly what kw2292 suggested and have my kava an hour or so before I plan on eating. I also completely agree on samplers. I like to blend different types anyways so a sampler is always a good way to do that. I tend towards micronized because I am a lazy shitbag.Just wanted to chime in that Kava basically is useless on a full stomach. Even more so than kratom its best empty. I recently picked up Ono, Loa Lawena, and Eva micronized from Cactus Kava. They are all good kava strains and I have been enjoying a combination of the three. I actually took too much this evening so my stomach is a tad pissed (really common side effect, usually goes away after eating for me) and I feel sorta drunk. As far as vendors go you just want to be sure it is certified noble. There are a few sites that list vendors who adhere to the noble standard. Bula Kava house is good too IF they have anything in stock. I got some of their 11 year recently and enjoyed it.Kalm with kava micronized is the one I read about. Is the cost/quanity ratio as good as it is with kratom? I looked at a couple vendors and it seemed a little spendy for how many doses you get.

Kava is much more expensive than kratom. I find 2 T to generally be a good enough dose but some nights I take much more. I am using it in place of alcohol and compared to how much I used to drink, it is quite cheap.

Michael, did you ever get to try the Micronized Kalm with Kava? If so, how do you like it compared to Kratom?michaelconstipe wrote:Kalm with kava micronized is the one I read about. Any other good instant kava recommendations?
Same question for you, E... have you tried it yet and how did you like it, especially compared to Kratom?e_poison wrote:I would be interested in this information as well. I've never taken kava, but plan on getting some soon to try it out.

Re: kava with kratom or kava without kratom
I do enjoy Kava but its honestly not worth it for the price. Ymmv but for the price of a few days worth of kava I could buy a few weeks worth of Kratom. Ime Kratom is a lot stronger in its subjective effects as well as more functional. Not to say that Kava is intoxicating to the point that you cant function. Its just Kratom gives me energy and sociability that is much more useable for me than Kava. Kava does remind me of weed in a way but the strength in the effects dont even compare. Thats just been my experience and there are plenty of people out there who love kava. Maybe I just had weak kava.
