FIGHT BACK!

Post by Adrumaddict »

For now I'll be posting the latest kratom advocacy required on this thread, but a new thread might be created later once we've solidified a permanent leader/organizer for our movement.

LATEST ACTION NEEDED!!

Kentucky has mirrored the Kansas legislators and slipped kratom into a non-related bill. If we don't react swiftly and with sufficient numbers this tactic will become the blueprint to end kratom in the US which has already begun. This action will take some work but if we want to keep kratom legal it's going to require sacrifices. We must not allow them one more stinking inch from here on out. We must create reactions that make them pause and think twice, and we do this with numbers, and with incredibly fast response times. They propose a ban bill, we overwhelm their email addresses and phone numbers the very next day. We need them to say "WTF!".
Latest advocacy below:

Email and call each legislator as soon as you can. I've copied and pasted this from the Kratom Coalition. This was originally created for Kentucky constituents so you'll have to insert your state where it says "Kentucky". Please act ASAP. Remember these turds work for us, but always remain professional and never disrespectful as that would embolden them to ignore us which they will if we give them a reason to. Let's put the fear of God in these bastards. If we create a big enough response it will scare the crap out of them, and I don't know about you all but the thought of that puts a big old smile on my face :P

1. Call Each Senator & Representative
Call the legislators listed below. Politely state you are a Kentucky resident and strongly urge them to oppose HB 757.

2. Email Each Senator Individually
Follow up every call with an individual email. Do not mass-copy everyone.

Suggested Subject - Kentucky Voter Opposes Kratom Ban in HB 757 — Enforce Existing Laws
Salutation "Dear Senator [Last Name],"

Statement of Intent - "I am a Kentucky resident writing/calling to respectfully ask you to oppose the last-minute blanket ban on kratom slipped into HB 757. Public comment has been completely bypassed and this bill should be voted against."

Enforce Existing Law - "The legislature already thoughtfully adjudicated this issue by passing the Kentucky Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) in 2024. If there are concerns, the state must focus on improving enforcement of the existing law, not abandoning it to criminalize responsible consumers."

The Real Threat - "If lawmakers are seeing harm in the state, it is likely stemming from highly concentrated, synthetic 7-OH products. Please target those dangerous synthetics, not the natural botanical plant that has a demonstrated history of safe use."

Science & Federal Alignment - "A sudden blanket ban on natural kratom runs directly counter to recent actions and evaluations by the Federal Government, and it is not backed by current science."

The Request & Personal Story - "I urge you to explicitly exclude natural kratom leaf products from being banned. Prohibition punishes responsible adults. [Insert your personal experience here.]"

Closing - "Thank you for your time and for considering the importance of regulation and enforcement over prohibition for the citizens of Kentucky. Sincerely, [Your Name], [Your Kentucky Address/Zip Code]"

Thank you for your help fighting this.

Sincerely,

MitraMan

Fucking pathetic scumbags.

They have no case, so now they want to use their power to cheat. Gee I wonder who is behind this mass-fucking over of America?

It's clear they don't give a fuck about anything except money and they WANT the blood on their hands.

We just have to prepare for the worst because that's what they are serving up.

Here's our next move:

We need to expose these tricky dicks to the public. Let's all start contacting some "watchdog" journalists and see if they'll jump on exposing these tactics. One, it might deter them from continuing this type of backdoor tactic for future kratom legislation. Two, it exposes how they don't posses a justified and provable reason for a ban, otherwise they wouldn't fear public scrutiny or comments. Listed below are some KY networks that might love a juicy story about how legislators are passing bills without notifying their constituents. Let's bombard them with calls and emails until one of them takes the story. Tell them how house bill 757 had kratom added to it last minute without alerting their constituents because these legislators can't pass a kratom ban on its own merits, they have to rely on stealth amendments instead.

Beshear had said back in November when they pulled 7oh from the SS shelves that he would not ban plain leaf. Then a Republican sneakily added the ban to the budget bill last minute. What the hell does this have to do with the budget???

The governor is aware that this is in the bill and hopefully will line item veto it. However, with Republicans having a super majority they might be able to override his veto. I spent yesterday emailing and will be calling today.

The overdose rate has been going down in Kentucky but if they take away everything that can help people we'll go right back to being the meth capital of the world. Yay.

Looks like I'm cooked down here in Tennessee, bill to schedule kratom heading to the Governors desk to get signed. Any help contacting Governor Bill Lee would be appreciated.
