Nerdy hobbies or interests?

Post by WhiteAngelica »

When I was a little girl, I got every tornado book out of the library, no joke. Obsessed and living in upstate NY meant each time we had a thunderstorm, I'd run outside and beg the clouds for a supercell.

Over the years I went with my careers and talents and wrote, made art but lately...the tornadoes are back. I am obsessed once more. I want to chase. Badly. I know this is a mid life crisis but I am way too excited about mesocyclones and wind shear for this to be normal.

Other than that, I have a journal of every vendor and strain I want to try or wish I could buy--its a special kratom journal and is basically kratom porn. I write crappy reviews in there too, and hope to share them so others share their reviews as well. I literally depend on you guys when making my kratomite decisions!

Anyone want to storm chase? Do you have a geek interest? A hobby? Or an interest that is more like, maybe this should have been a career or something...like, something that is hitting you now or lately.

Reminded me of when I was poorer than poor and between jawbs. I sold off my 10-15 childhood pocket knives. Realized a couple of them were worth as much or more than they cost new in the 80's, and I started buying 'lots' of NSA confiscated knives to polish up and re-sell on ebay. That was a decade or so after I sold off all my childhood star wars and lego toys and crap. Oh, and bootleg concert cds, I paid rent for a few months off those. Is living off being an ebay seller a nerdy hobby ? If so, I was guilty of that for a few years ha-ha.

I dont know whether it can be called hobbies or interests. But, most of every day, i guess, i like to jerk off.
But, i do think, what i am planning for my retirement. Lately, i watch hunter x hunter anime and i idolized ging in the anime. I am thinking, maybe if i become successfull, my kids have their own business and my wife is already happy with our economy then i will try explore the world become an archaeology.

My target is Indonesia, it has many mysteries shrouded in this country; i also hope whether i can get a same hobby with me so i can explore this with him/her together to unlock the mystery of the world.

Right now, i am reading, and tik-tok ing the video/article about Indonesia mystery.

Hey Angelica, do you see many tornadoes in upstate NY? I grew up in Niagara Falls and we never had any that I remember. Then we moved to Kentucky and we get them every spring. I saw a bad one that went right over the factory I was working in and dropped softball sized hail for miles. The sound from the tornado and the hail was deafening. My friends and I were crouched down in a bathroom stall waiting for it to pass. Still gives me goosebumps.

I guess my newest nerdy hobby is finding and drinking tea. Green teas and oolongs mostly. My cupboards are stuffed full of ones I've tried. It kind of reminds me of when I first got into kratom. Lol

I think my newest nerdy hobby is going to be trying to source a Japanese sancha I like for a reasonable price. Costco quit carrying their delicious Ito En green sancha/matcha tea bags I've been buying for years
in the stores. Now you can only get it online for $6 more a box with shipping.

I don't know if it's nerdy but I started beading again and opened an Etsy shop. Actually, re-opened it after 8 or 9 years on hiatus. It used to be topical herbal remedies, now it's beaded bag charms and earrings.

Here's a shameless link lol
