Re: Hobbies
Reading, writing, walking, and deep thinking to name a few. I tend to walk too much though. Some days I walk 20000 steps, or more. I like to walk cause it helps me think. Writing I use as a release for my feelings. Reading I do pure out of joy, and a thirst for knowledge. I also love growing plants, and taking care of them. I love tea, and consider collecting it, and consuming it a hobby. I have a passion for many things but these are just to name a few off the top of my head.

Re: Hobbies
Reading, walks in the woods, collecting pretty wood and rocks, making jewelry.
I was making jewelry in the mid-late 90s and really slowed down, ended up putting all my beads and stuff in boxes, taping
them up and they've been in the back of a closet since I moved in here 13 years ago. On the 1st I got them out and started
sorting and organizing, taking apart old pieces I didn't finish or didn't like. It took me 3 full weeks. I've been ordering in
some supplies like antique bronze spacers and bead caps (I used to work only i antiqued silver) and I'm going to get
going next week after a few more things come in (soft wire for wrapping, a few other things.)
I am going to make myself a bag charm for my purse and my oldest daughter has ordered one too. They've gotten
popular in the last couple years and most of them are either leather flowers and stuff or stuffies. Not too many
nice beaded ones.

Re: Hobbies
I collect sunglasses, but the hobby's on hold, I have tons. Some are pretty expensive, others are cheap. I find I have only four or five pairs I use often. My dad once gave me a pair of Maui Jims made of glass, but I had to give them back because of how heavy they were, they'd slip down. I have several pairs of MJs, pricy but quailty. I also have two-dollar specials from Temu.
I try to avoid pairs from brands which are owned by Luxottica, they have a virtual monopoly on sunglasses, making the shades for practically all medium to high end brands and expanded again when they purchased Oakley, which had been holding out, but they finally cashed out. Pretty much Maui Jim, Zenni, Warby Parker, and Shady Rays are the only quality glasses.
I have a medium-sized assortment of hats/caps/beanies. I have my faves, but I rotate them, and coordinate with my pants and shirt. The stash has taken up enough room, and I don't need anymore atm.
I would collect knives, but quality knives are expensive... like more than high end sunglasses. I have a great every day carry, and that's all that I need. I have a nice balisong (Filipino butterfly knife) with a tanto blade (type/shape of Japanese knife) made of Damascus steel, originated in the Middle East, beautiful swirls like cream poured into coffee, but I don't use it. I would love to own top tier knives like Benchmades, high quality like Vosteed, moderately costing Kershaw, custom like Ken Onion makes, but I can't justify it. I would just open the case, look at them and go 'yeah...!' then put them away, lol.
I did also bought, I dunno if it qualifies as a hobby, but I had a large collection of Star Trek novels.
I had some baseball cards, a few which were worth minor $, and Marvel comic cards, which I really liked, but sold. Wish I still had the comics cards and some really great comic books my cousin gave me, stupid me.
Oh, when pogs aka milk caps were popular, I had a rather large cache. They were a blast from the past fad for awhile when I was in middle school, and like a generation or two before that. They were the cardboard seal on the tops of milk jugs back when milk was delivered every morning. People collected them and would challenge each other by stacking them and then using a 'hitter,' a cap thrown down on top of the stack. Any caps that fell off the stack or flipped were taken by the person whose turn it was. During this modern fad period, all the caps were not actually from milk jugs, they were advertising or knick knacks. Pogs were called that because Passion Orange Guava aka POGs, were one of the first brands to make them. I dunno what I did with mine, but some are worth a bit of cash today.
I used to hike with several groups and my service dog. She put a huge number of miles on her beautiful paws. My favorite hobby/activity. When I lived in Honolulu near the YMCA, I'd go work out for a few hours while she snoozed near me.

sort of solar system on it. Really pretty. I tossed it into the thrift store bag, along with about 2 pounds of beads I didn't want anymore.

I used to write. A lot. I still have stuff I've written from I think 2004 or 2005 that's all in a binder. Same with coloring books. The majority of stuff I've colored is also in a binder. I don't know how far into making stuff to sell I'm going to get. All my beads (and I have a TON of them) are all considered vintage now and aren't easily procured. I have half a mind to just hoard them.
This is one of four parts of the charm I'm making for myself. It's a little longer than the one I'm going to make for my daughter, my purse is taller.

I've ALWAYS been big into "hobbies" and creative pursuits... Musician, played guitar on a bunch of records, had 1 very minor hit record myself (you'll never find it!
) .. But even more interesting... I once HAD, around 6,000 comic books. Back around 50 years ago. Even had my own Dealer Table at Comic Con's!
NOW - I'm embarrassed to admit. Yes, I DID have, a Spider Man #1 comic book (Amazing Fantasy #15). And... I SOLD it.
For like: $500 bucks... yes. That's what is WAS worth... back then

Re: Hobbies
I was weak and got sucked into a knife hobby. So far just folding knives that are quality and that I like the look and feel of.
Perhaps I will go on to fixed blade knives, but there are so many beautiful folders out there... I have a lot of budget knives, the medium-high ones cost hundreds.
I'm particularly drawn to gravity knives. Wikipedia it, lol.
Have a great day y'all, all the way from Hawaii nei.

So far I've made two bag charms, four pairs of earrings and am just now finishing a bracelet.
I'm in the flow zone. I woke up at 4:00 am this morning with an idea so I just had to get up and get to work on it.

Finally got my Etsy shop open! Definitely not asking for sales here, but I would appreciate
any eyes on it because that will move me up in the search. And I'm far, far behind, the
market is absolutely saturated. Click on a listing, look through the pics. Thank you!

Do you like Charlie Turner? Brit who got his American citizenship and has a gig in NYC doing freestyle raps with audience selected topics. He's all over youtube.
If you haven't had experience with Korean cooking, it's fairly easy and I recommend https://www.maangchi.com/. Korean cooking is highly adaptable to vegetarian diet, but you'll miss out on some great dishes.
My knife collection has grown and I am a full-fledged knife collector now; promised my dad I would make no more purchases (of anything except for my dog) from Sept. until Dec. Fortunately, I have points and credits on various sites which sated my knife-buying habit. And also my dad approved me putting down $5 to reserve a specialty Chaves Redencion knife and $80 when the production was complete.. that knife came yesterday, and it's a beaut. My plan is to join a monthly knife club at a rate I can sustain.

Hobbies are a must! I swim most days at the Y. Somedays I do walk my neighborhood. I also sew and have been sewing since I was 7ish? My mom was an incredible seamstress, so I learned at her feet and sewing table. I also play the piano. I used to paint on porcelain, called China Painting. I still have all my supplies and would love to do that but finding a group or teacher or a kiln is a bit more work than I want. We are finishing the basement. I want to take a wine and paint class?? Most recently, I took 2 pairs of jeans, cut the legs, and widened them for my oldest grandson lol. The main legs were gray, the inset wide parts were blue denim. They came out pretty cool.

I make glitch art. I'm obsessed with it, and not as good as the really good people, but follow them and try to learn from them. I'm completely honored when I make a breakthrough and post to see that others in the glitch arts actually see me. That is my #1 hobby now, but besides this, poetry: reading, writing, and writing creatively across the board. I used to teach it, but I became too sick to work but dream of getting better and returning to the classroom. In the meantime, I'm expressing myself in a type of visual poetry. It makes me happy during a very, very hard time.
