Has Kratom kept anyone else from ever getting sick?

I don’t know if Kratom is to thank or I’ve just gotten lucky—knock on wood—but I never ever get sick. Which is especially surprising since my partner is always getting sick. More than anyone else I know. Does Kratom actually affect your immune system? I know greens do so it could stand to reason, I’m just not sure how much nutrients/antioxidants/etc. Kratom has.

No. But, I feel like maybe it helps somehow. If only to keep common illnesses to a minimum. Purely anecdotal though. I do not believe it is some kind of actual medicine, it's herbal, and the effects of those kinds of 'remedies' or whatever, are usually pretty minimal. That said, I still think it maybe helps a little extra, unlike those pressed-pellet grocery store vitamin c pills.

This post got me thinking, since it's been a few years since the last time I was sick.. however I just started coming down with a sore throat, cough and aches this morning. So I would say no

I used to feel like it helped but the older I get, the easier it is to get sick. I tend to catch every single cold that goes around these days lol. Especially if I’m around my nieces and nephew. Little kids are germ factories. Plus all the allergens and humidity where I live do not help matters.

I’ve been sick since I started using kratom, including COVID, but here’s the strange thing, I haven’t had a fever since I started using kratom, including when I had COVID. I only get sinus or bronchial inflammation/irritation.

I have been pretty healthy in my kratom journey and I have kids in school who get sick and haven’t really gotten too sick this school year and cold and flu season. Thankfully

On Reddit I often see this supposition that kratom prevents getting sick but I'm skeptical, I think it's one of those things they latch on to because of confirmation bias.

For me personally, I don't think so. The last time I was sick was maybe 8 months ago. I remember feeling absolutely nothing from kratom while I was sick and the following couple weeks. If it's ever prevented me from getting sick, I have no way of knowing.

True! I feel the same. Sometimes these ideas take hold and they become accepted as facts when there's no real evidence.

I believe for me it has almost 6 yrs and I haven't been sick since starting even while taking care of sick people around me.Im not certain if it's the kratom or just gaining better knowledge of how to live and eat healthier and better gut health

I am a school teacher that has moved through all grade levels in the past 6 years. No illness.

My wife has an auto-immune, she is sick all of the fucking time. Nothing!

I truly believe the hype on this one! In fact, I turned 46 and feel pretty damn good!

Does Kratom actually affect your immune system ??

I think it falls under the "Plant Medicine" concept, where the plant contains this whole "Symphony" of alkaloids ... responsible for ALL the effects. Both good desirable effects, and some negative Not-So good ones. Yes there is a general consensus in the Community of an immuno protective action where people notice they don't seem to catch bugs/ colds/ Flu or whatever. At least not as often as they did, before a long period of daily kratom consumption.

IMO - Yes there's obviously MANY "effects" and the Symphony description is used by Dr McCurdy and the scientists who study kratom - To suggest there's many alkaloids at play, in small trace amounts (besides the Primary ones, Mitragynine, & 7-Hydroxy etc.) - the Secondary and minor alks really haven't been studied in detail... I agree with the OVERALL concept, that alkaloids are powerful, and your body can have reaction to consuming - 1 example "Hair Loss" a common side effect. and, the MORE raw kratom consumed in Grams Per Day - the MORE a person will experience negatives, like Hair, addiction, constipation, RLS.

I remember doing a deep dive back in the day. And there were over 40 alkaloids in the leaf. I remember seeing at least 4 or 5 that were immunostimulants. So it makes sense some people are less prone to getting sick.

How common is it? Are there any good studies you know of? I’ve been starting to thin on top and been taking kratom for like 8 years. I don’t know if it’s just normal male pattern baldness setting in due to age or something else.

I haven't been sick often, so I think it does help a little bit with not catching a serious cold. However, I have caught covid twice while using kratom, so I wouldn't say it prevents sickness 100%.
