Need help from anyone with experience …

I was on Hydrocodone for 10 year then suboxone for 3 years, I quit cold turkey and started using Kratom about 6 years ago it’s worked great. Here’s my question… has anyone ever switched back from kratom to Vicodin? I have an upcoming knee surgery and they are wanting to put me on opiates after and even before the surgery. Is there any kind of danger in doing so? Should I pass on the opiates and just continue using kratom. If it’s painful I would like to have the pain meds on stand by but I’m worried about mixing from kratom to opiates. Anyone have any experience doing this? Thanks in advance

From my experience many years ago, it’s fine as long as you don’t mix them at the same time. No issues switching from one to the other and back

From my personal experience: I was given prescription painkillers after a dental procedure. I had no problems with it. Just don't take both at the same time.

Yep, as the admin reminds us, we ain't no medical site.

But from personal experience I mix them all the time (just not AT the same time). Right now I need a shoulder replacement, so anytime I play tennis I take Vicodin (or even Oxy) - even on the days I also take kratom at night. Everything works fine.

I know this is not a medical forum but has anyone gone under anesthesia using kratom daily?
I read kratom is a mild blood thinner, don’t know if that’s true? Anyone ever have surgery under anesthesia? Thanks again

I have a couple times for sinus surgery and didn't have any issues.

Personally, I would have NO qualms or hesitation, about staying on Kratom EXTRACT -vs- Hydrocodone - POST surgery. Modern 7-Hydroxy is better, and safer ! with MUCH stronger Pain Relief... for any recovery period, to follow AFTER surgery !!

Your main issue ? seems to be BEFORE and during the surgery - They will probably give you an opioid, likely Fentanyl during the surgery ? (possibly a combo Benzo & opioid together!) ~ OK Fine. Let the doctors control this!! In my opinion, I would taper my kratom usage DOWN... Way down! in days or weeks before the surgery.

So BUY your 7OH!! and have it ready.... assume you have SELF CONTROL, to keep a substance on hand! (Sorry, gotta say that... we do have many addictive folks in the Kratom community who are, uhh, "Drug fiend" types, & I don't know you so... 7OH is "addictive" and a problem for some people!) I had a medical procedure done in October and they gave me fentanyl and versed. It helped me relax but I was 100% aware of what was going on around me. I remember laying on the table being completely at ease with the universe and totally apathetic to the doctors prodding me. Strangest feeling. Then I went home and slept 14 hours without even moving a muscle lol.

I would buy some quality 7OH tablets. I have taken 5-7.5mg percocets in the past and the 15-20mg 7OH tabs have almost the same effect. I've had a bad tooth ache the past couple days and the 7oh tab knocks it right out.

I was surprised at how well kratom actually worked for tooth pain. Way better than I expected tbh.

I would not mix the two, or even use them in the same week. In my experience, the two mixed can exacerbate effects or weaken an expected relief.

I’ve used them on alternating days. Def don’t mix them. Not only dangerous but you’ll destroy your tolerance.

I had a double mastectomy and never took the pain pills they gave me, only kratom. It worked great for me.
