This is sort of a prequel to the recent Dune movies and the book Dune
itself. It's about the beginning of the Bene Gesserit and is set something
like 10k years before the events of Dune. Here's a trailer

I haven't watched it yet! I've been modding my butt off on the sub. About 500 mod actions in 24 hours. 250 in one hour after the episode was done.SeventhHeaven wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:49 pmThanks H²!! And apparently the prequel IS intentionally tied to the 2021 & 2023 movies -

How was the first episode?

I'm undecided if I want to watch the first episode sometime before the second one Sunday evening or binge it all later.

I definitely prefer the binge where I can watch it all at my own pace. Having to mod the dune sub, I bet you've heard every spoiler by now lol.herbalhippie wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 1:23 amI'm undecided if I want to watch the first episode sometime before the second one Sunday evening or binge it all later.
It's not like I don't already know what's going on. Over and over and OVER. Every detail.![]()

I was once in a forum for the TV show Rome and someone posted something along the lines of how they were looking forward to seeing how the show handled the assassination of Caesar on that night's episode, and so of course they were met with an angry "No Spoilers!!!", lol.herbalhippie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 12:29 amI know plots for things that haven't even been released yet.e_poison wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 10:28 pmI definitely prefer the binge where I can watch it all at my own pace. Walken would have made a great Fenring. Kyle MacLachlan, the first Paul Atreides, would have made a great Emperor. oh well...Babel-17 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 9:29 amI was once in a forum for the TV show Rome and someone posted something along the lines of how they were looking forward to seeing how the show handled the assassination of Caesar on that night's episode, and so of course they were met with an angry "No Spoilers!!!", lol.herbalhippie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 12:29 amI know plots for things that haven't even been released yet.![]()
On a side note, I was was unable to enjoy the prequel to Battlestar Galactica because (spoiler alert), I knew that the series finale of the show made anything and everything that could happen largely irrelevant to me, at least on an emotional level. Those dummies who wrote that episode really painted themself in a corner with that ending, and I suspect it was partly the result of anger issues at the show ending much sooner than they were prepared for. They were probably hoping the show would be like the Star Trek franchise goose, and they'd be hauling in golden eggs forever, but nope.
P.S. For years and years I was posting how Christopher Walken would make a great Count Fenring because of the idiosyncratic way Fenring spoke, which Walken could match, and because he had a dancer's grace, which Fenrig as the deadliest killer of the Imperium also had. I had to laugh when it was revealed Walken would play Emperor Shaddam, Fenring's pal.
