TFH Moonlight Muna or Nightcap for sleep/sedation

Post by NLK316 »

Hi yall...

It's been some time since I've posted considering I used to watch these forums like a hawk since 2018!

I've been having trouble finding a red that will offer a calming sedation at bedtime. I've read through a few posts & I'm about to put an order in w/ TFH but really unsure what reds to grab. The Moonlight Muna & Nightcap are down to 100g & I'd like to grab one before they are gone.

Can you seasoned veterans give me some suggestions?!

Both of those are good.

On the current menu my favorite reds (and I always use reds ONLY for nighttime sleep/sedation) are Jolly Red Giant, Cream de la Bali and Chef's Kiss. All I rate as a 5 (on a scale from 1-5). If I did not have those I would get those first, and in roughly that order.

I have a Bedtime blend that I made but if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep
I'll take a little Jolly Red Giant. The Nightcap is only mildly sedating for me but the Jolly Red Giant knocks me out.

I’m in agreement with the Jolly red but I don’t do well with slow Redz, I have not tried any one of the other two, but if they’re oxidized, I usually don’t do too well with those, the crème de la Bali is a mid fast red for me and so is chefs kiss, I found the 30-year-old Wiley red to be a slow read for me. Might wanna try that one.

How much vampire is left in that bedtime blend?

Baik hutan, baik bali and master crafted red are all very slow, warm and sedating for me. Jolly Red is also excellent as others have stated....a great batch for sure.
