I tried 3 gr 1 1/2gr an hour apart. My stomach started getting upset, and the mood was different than any of the batches recommended here. I didn't like it. Should I stay away from AKA approved sites?
Thanks

Oh man...I don't want too go off topic or wade into politics..but I'll say this and then zip it. Not government takeover, but regulation. Greedy business needs to be reined in. Like the banking industry with, say, predatory loans. Like the clean air and water acts. Like monopoly busting. Like labor laws. Like the civil right act.mivanqua wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:03 pm You're probably going to say Social Security?
Agreed on that in the early days. Sadly, though, it was doomed to fail. When you take in one dollar for a program and pay out a thousand dollars, it's going to be a problem on down the line (AKA when I retire.)
What were you referring to if not that?
TR and FDR were the real thing, I think. Maybe not though.

are we really going to allow this right wing nonsense in here? ("get the government out of my .....") so much more complicated than you make it, and twist around to suit your position. If this kind of politics is allowed, then we should just go at it. i find it hard not to when this cliched garbage is allowed to stand.mivanqua wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:03 pm You're probably going to say Social Security?

Well AKA is a "Lobbying" organization representing our "Industry" = the vendors. And because of the Legal situation - I agree, it's true that AKA does also represent Consumers - But yes you are correct, Power and Money... it takes lots of money, for any effective legal / political / lobbying effort to be successful.IdiopathicPain247 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 9:36 am I am not so sure the AKA's standards are very good and they are growing in power and money to promote and Legalize Kratom.

I fucking HATE politics. Talking about Theodore Roosevelt and FDR (Franklin Delano Roosevelt) is HISTORY. man, NOT POLITICS. FDR was responsible for the New Deal which incorporated a lot of the social security programs we have today, albeit changed around a bit (to suit them more, not us)Nelson Baboon wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 7:21 pmare we really going to allow this right wing nonsense in here? I get it.. there's good and bad regulation. It's not always where and how we want it...but there's just too many of us to be without it.
Don't want to wade into hot button topics. So I'll take a bow and exit.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming and a discussion of kratom vendors....
the mods don't want us to engage, so i will respect that.mivanqua wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 6:36 amI fucking HATE politics. Generally though, like 99.99% of politicians are not Even worth talking about on any level.
I want to quote a pretty grimy fucker who had one good idea and it was :
"Those who can not remember the past are doomed to repeat it."
You know who Jim Jones is?
Yeah, nobody else really does either. Historians, I mean.
Why do you think he had that sign above his head, Nelson, as he and his stooges mass murdered everyone in sight? Serious question.
History and politics are two ENTIRELY different things. We are talking about just under 100 years ago man. Teddy Roosevelt a bit more than that, even. That's POLITICS? OK sorry I mentioned it.
By the way, Nelson, what, exactly, is my "position" that im suiting? That Social Security will be defunkt by the time I need it and they* have been literally stealing my money for absolutely nothing all of these years?
Oh yeah?
Prove me wrong then.
*Who's "they?"
George H.W. Bush
William Jefferson Clinton
George W Bush
Barack Hussein Obama
Donald J. Trump
Joseph Biden
ALL SCUM.
Who's your favorite large-scale fraudster criminal liar, bro?

And a big one at that. This is very true and regulation IS good if it isn't just a matter of money all the way around the block, which, here it absolutely is.Jfish030 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 1:13 pm The regulations are to put into place to provide safe kratom, not the best. After you heat sterilize the powder or even gamma treat ( i suspect also does some damage to the mit) the powder isn't as strong, but it is a lot safer.
I honestly think regulations are good overall. Ive seen people sell awful stuff to people who are unaware. Regulations are really just to prevent stupid people from doing stupid stuff, but without enforcement the people still do bad stuff.
Id rather kratom be a little weaker then to get blasted on national news over another salmonella outbreak. That was brutal. Most of the AKA recommended companies could care less about kratom they were CBD/Headshop companies previously. They simply will move onto the next product. Being AKA approved is just a business expense.

There was a shitload recalled from a bunch of different vendors but I don't remember reading about anyone actually getting sick. I think it was more or less a scare tactic from good old Gottlieb.

No people did get sick. I know a vendor personally who got wrapped up into it. People were ending up in the hospital. They would run test and find out you have salmonella. Then ask you questions like what have you eaten in the past 24-36 hours, to write it down. They then submit that information to that state's health agency. Once they get multiple people writing down the same thing they zero in on that common item. The FDA obtained samples and tested the kratom powder and it came back positive, i actually believe the FDA in this instance.MetalMamaRocks wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 8:40 pmThere was a shitload recalled from a bunch of different vendors but I don't remember reading about anyone actually getting sick.
