So after being unable to keep a month off, I had a problem with a dose not hitting, then trying to add more, and again, resulting in a stupid amount of kratom and not getting anything from it, even though I know better, applying an addict's model of use instead of using simple logic.

I started by cutting my dose a little more than half, and gradually lowered a few grams to 2-3.5g. I feel it every time now, sometimes 3.5g is a little too much, mildly just not liking that much stimulation. Mostly I get a relaxing buzz.

Due to Ballz and Kelley, I've worked out how I do my doses, 1 or 2 times a day, using oblates for now cause of some coughing.

Dth k 2-3g on empty stomach, with some citric acid (I have a bag of it) or an acidic beverage.

15-30min later dth 0.5-1g kratom. (Kelley says lower quality kratom can be used here to no harm.)

30-60min later few bites food (have not experimented with whole meal).

Congratulations. Same here. My dose is now between 1.75 & 2.0. It's so much better.

I should note that if you DO stick to the lower doses you don't seem to need to do a reset - or at least not very often (I'm in about eight months deep without needing one).

What I've done in the past (and I recommend) is if you are finding the lower doses aren't working and think you DO need a reset, instead of stopping completely for three days just try a single dose a day. For one or two days this seems to work just as well for me, at least, as going cold turkey for three of four days.

It's certainly true for Kratom, because seems like the #1 Negative you hear about Kratom = "Addictive" . but that's a slippery slope & does not apply to all people and all cases equally. IF someone uses Kratom, only on weekends then that's OK ? And why is Daily use bad ? Don't people use Coffee, alcohol, and foods like ice cream... daily ??

Should we DEMONIZE ice cream then, because there's so many fuckin' fat people around in the summer, eatin' too much ice cream ? NO!! And it's recognized that eating too much Fat, calories, is bad for your health. But being overweight can be fixed, too... Recovery. it's called dieting. Big business.

I mean isn't everything GOOD... addictive then ? People are SEX addicts. There are 12-step Recovery groups for that, too! It's getting late here... thanks again

I have heard of people taking it for years without a break. I don't want to keep increasing the dose, so I guess mixing up the "kind", by trial and error is the way to proceed?

After using Kratom to stop taking Suboxone, which I used to stop 25 years of pain meds (not of my own volition - I was in treatment for alcoholism) I have used Kratom for one year now to manage serious chronic pain, and generally help with the brain stabilization that I seem to need after decades of anti depressants, severe alcoholism, and heavy doses of painkillers. '

I take Kratom 5 times per day, every day, at doses of between 2 - 3 grams, with 2.5 to 2.75 grams being my sweet spot. My daily consumption is around 12.5 -14 grams,

I was able to take the same dose of painkillers every day for decades with no loss in efficacy because I didn't up my dose ever under any circumstances. That's the way I use Kratom now. Sometimes I get a recreational "feel" from it, and sometimes a purely medicinal feel, but it just about always works. The idea of going on a "tolerance break" is totally off the table for me, just as it would have been with any of the other meds I've taken in the past.

No doubt I am physically dependent on Kratom, but it is not "addictive" in my case, in the sense that I do not experience cravings for ever higher doses in order to attain some higher high. But then I never ran out of my pain pills a week early as a result of gobbling down handfuls of them on a bad pain day.

Yep me too. I am afraid she will not approve of it...then where will I be? I tell her I am using Medical Marijuana to help manage my pain.

hey Thanks for posting. Chronic Pain patients aka CPP, are in a different boat from many, like me, who use kratom to help with depression & as a "daily tonic"... I think your method is best. Considering all the unknowns we deal with, "strains", vendors, batches, etc.

Some day... Kratom WILL be recognized, and fully Legal - and then packaged & sold just like ALL other Legal herbs: Standardized medicine with a guaranteed potency. . Yes. Buy any herbal product, raw and for sure extract, will have a Quality rating/ active ingredient, and Recommended Serving - listed right on the bottle or package... The ONLY reason we don't have that now - Is the FDA issue: Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act -DSHEA- of 1994.

WHEN that happens... We will see all 200+ "Online Vendors" disappear, almost overnight. Within a month or so. All the "Big Supplement" companies, like Now Foods etc. would take over. They would have products on Amazon - quality Kratom - in Tea, gummies, and herbal extract's in Caps or softgels. But mainly a lower Price and higher quality.

You're most likely right Ballz, but that would take away most of the fun (and frustration we have a little pride about) of searching for the hottest fire from the hottest vendors and friendships we've made, a little enclave of counterculture underground thrown in the mix due to various circumstances. Enjoy it while it lasts, I guess... and I am secure in my stash, lol.
