Opioids after kratom

Yea, get that ache. I have ointment, cream, gel, and ice packs. There's a spot in the middle of my spine that gets extremely sore and muscles in the shoulders that knot up. I got that ache from working for 1 hour. When my chronic pain is unmanaged it's in the neck, shoulders, back, hips, thighs and groin. Prednisone helps but I know it's "bad for the bones" - reminded me of that song! Ba bababababababa baaaaad to the bone

don't want to get political, but i'll just say that different people have different kinds of relationships with doctors. I haven't needed opioids, but i don't think that i should have to create a years long meaningful relationship with a doctor to easily get needed pain medication.

And I would agree with you IF there weren't a lot of very unscrupulous folks who are willing to do or say ANYTHING in order to get those same medications not for pain relief, but to get high and/or get others high (the latter in particular is very pernicious. I honestly don't mind what anyone does to his or her own body, but folks obtaining drugs illegally to sell to others are not scrupulous about who they sell to or even what the consequences might be of abuse).

So any doctor is put into a difficult position and I don't blame them for not handing out drugs indiscriminately to folks they don't know. And, honestly, you really OUGHT to have a long term relationship to a general health person for a wide variety of reasons. It's in your own best interests and I would advise anyone who doesn't to start now.

i understand that position, but i think that in a humane world (which should be the starting point of policy) you first make sure that people can get their necessary medication, and then you work on trying to fix the other stuff. I think also that medication should be free, etc, etc. so i think that also this comes down to a somewhat political issue in that these kinds of restrictions negatively affect poor people more than rich people, who can usually get around this stuff. so it's complicated in that doctors can get in trouble, etc, but i don't think that drug companies are hurting for money, and i don't think it's realistic to tell many people that they should go to doctors and pay them lots of money just to find a good one that will give them needed medication. But yeah - not like in this society there wouldn't be problems with that. I just think that the biggest one is our medical system and the fact that people go bankrupt from paying for necessary care.

There's no question our medical "system" is in need of repair - but making it "free" isn't the answer (because NSTAAFL).

Coming down on Big Pharma would go a LONG way towards solving the problems but it's only a start and one that neither side of the political aisle will ever do (because they ALL line their pockets with that money).

Kelley in Portugal they have legalized all drugs and the crime rate and overdose rate has dropped practically to zero and the use of drugs in general seems to be dropping. Turns out the stigma is the salesman on this one. Same with Amsterdam. They give out heroin laced cigarettes to people who need them. It's not the drugs that cause the crime rate, it's the black market. This has been proven with real world numbers.
I was one of those people in your post that went to ERs to get some opioids in my earlier days. Usually got them too. Near the end I was getting more tramadol than anything, but that stuff works too. They are sick. Kratom is suppressed to say the least. If kratom was around in 1999, I would have quit then.
About ten years ago I got a kidney stone and had insurance. My daughter's mother got it for me as a gift because I was unemployed so she found out where to call to get Medicaid. So I got referred to a urologist. The urologist was giving me 30 percoset 7.5s A WEEK. Keep in mind I hadn't really been messing with it at all. POP there it was. And it was cool, but honestly, it wasn't really working. I got hooked again so I had a relapse for about a year or so but then I met an old friend after years one night and she said "you look like you could use some kratom. I could. She gave me a ziplock bag with about.....90 grams in it. Heroin and pills were history. And fent these days.
It's not our fault I guess is my point in this. You shouldn't see it as "unscrupulous" as much as horrible. They are victims of a system just trying to make a buck. When you are dopesick ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS HEROIN. I used to have dreams when I was dope sick where I would.get a nice bag of dope but I could never find a place to do it. Strange thing is, that seems to be a common dream amongst the dope sick. Isn't that weird? It messes with EVERY PART OF YOU when you're sick.
Anyway, just to say, from the other side you're not taking advantage because let's face it, it's not the doctors stash he's giving you.


Oh, and then they wanna prescribe you Acetaminophen 600 and tome Toradol and then a few days later, you get a bill for 1,277. I mean, really? Like...WHAT? Hahaha!

And it's amazing hearing your story. The thing I do love is that kratom helps you (and could have helped you sooner). It only strengthens our fight to keep it legal - and makes me SO mad that Big Pharma fights against that.
