Feeling Low?

Post by froggy33 »

Feeling low? Your not alone, its that time of year again. SAD also known as seasonal affective disorder pops up around this time of year. Happens to me like clockwork. Just know if you are suffering that you are not alone. If we were perfect we wouldn't need to take Kratom to mask some sort of pain.. physical or emotional.. or to enhance our well-being..or stay sober..Keep your heads up.

Incidentally, SAD lights DO help!

I live in the Pacific Northwest these days, and the never-ending cold, gray days (today was sunny!) grind on you over time. A few years ago I bought an LED SAD light and used it while I drank coffee every morning for 15-30 minutes.

It made a noticeable difference :D

They aren't expensive - if you suffer from SAD give one a try!

I've lived in the PNW all my life and I get irritable if it doesn't rain or if it's not at least grey most of the time.

Not a fan of lots of sun and hot weather. I'm definitely in the wrong place.

I actually love this time of year and hate summer. Not a fan of hot weather at all. The only exception to that is if I'm on a beautiful ocean beach somewhere with my toes in the sand and a cold beer in my hand. Otherwise, I prefer colder climates, especially the mountains. Not a fan of rain though. I do prefer sunny days.

But I know many people do get depressed this time of year, especially around the holidays. The "Holiday Season" Thanksgiving through New Years can be rough, for plenty of reasons.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I always try and come from a place of love, and compassion. Trying to lift up others even when im sad. I too suffer. I try and stay upbeat and spread love and kindness. But I am human, and hurt like all of us.

Peace N Love Everyone

Along with a happy light, vitamin D and magnesium can be helpful as well. I started taking magnesium citrate for kratom
constipation during the winter and my mood improved so much within a couple weeks. I hadn't even realized I was a bit depressed.

Yep, and most people are running short on Vitamin D, especially during the winter months due to the lack of sunshine in places like the PNW. I don't like it too hot either, but we really do need sunshine for our bodies to make their own Vitamin D, and supplementing it is something I've been doing for a while.

It also helps against viruses during the winter, as do zinc and plenty of Vitamin C. Also my personal fave, Sambucol (elderberry extract), which I've been using for over 25 years. Good stuff!

Since both HH and I mentioned "Happy Lights" for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), imagine my shock when I got an email from Verilux (dot com) this morning about their Black Friday Happy Lights sale :D

Verilux makes great quality stuff - use code BFCM22 for the sale, and click the HappyLights tab at the top! They really do help with SAD.

And no, I have no affiliation - I'm just a happy customer :)
