On another post Roofdog highly recommends Get er Done green, not sure if you saw it. I had just finalized an order and wanted to add that and Afterburner Bali, especially with $14 shipping, but it was too late. I know we all love fast shipping but dam!

I was curious about the Gajah as well! Seems to have tested on the lower end of the spectrum (you know im not a fan of slower, lol.) but I may decide to give it a try down the line. I went on a limb and grabbed 500g each of the new greens. Without how good their leaf has been recently, I think it’s worth the risk.

Living within 30m of them has its perks! Shipping is overnight.

thanks! one of my absolute favorite games ever, it's right up there with ocarina of time for me. I was listening to some of the earthbound soundtrack yesterday, it's got the best music on any SNES game I think. have you played the sequel, mother 3?

wish there was a date on the menu so you know when it changes. you must have it memorized

I'm trying out my order now. got here lightning fast...went out Wednesday evening and arrived Friday morning. afterburner is pretty great. I'm liking the forest borneo right now too. and I also got a few red samples to try too!

Yeah man, it’s a classic! I’ve beaten it countless times.

Man, I started it years ago but never finished. I need to go back and start over again.

Oh, and on the menu, In the lower Right hand corner, it shows the last day it was updated.

thanks, I didn't notice that

I played through it several times on an emulator right when they got done with the fan translation. few video games are able to write a powerful story like that that makes people actually care about the characters. everything about it is so unique...the simple graphics, the enemies, the music/sound effects, obviously the writing, the fighting system, I could go on. it's such a suitable sequel to earthbound. I'm glad it didn't come out on the 64, idk if you've seen some of the screenshots of the demo they had at spaceword 99, but they're... interesting.

It was tested as a green, which I identified it as such. It's very good - I did order a lot of it.

Samarinda or Master or both? I use kratom mainly to function during the day to give me energy and motivation to get things done. Today I'm trying the get er done green. Actually pain relief is my number one reason and how I found it by researching pain, but I've still needed to take prednisone to keep pain at bay although I've tried lowering several times and am still lowering it. I ordered some of the test strains by number so I have to check and see if I already have what I just ordered! It'd be nice if he put on his menu the original test numbers with each strain.

Samarinda was labeled as green 525. I did like it (as a rule I don't like greens). It was a good thing others here told me or I'd have ordered it again under that name.

(I did ask if Get er done was something I tested and Chris said no).

The Master Crafted Red has gotten some good feedback, even from Chris, but I've tried it a couple times and it hasn't been anything special for me so far. I hesitate to tell people that they will love something just because I do. Personal chemistry is always the deciding factor. Best to just speak about your own experience, in my opinion.
I got to agree with you on this one. I bought the MCR based on the massive praise its gotten as well. Taken it 3 times now and gotten nothing at all. I usually dose between 3-5 grams, and I've tried that, less, and more. It's a bummer because I was really excited for this one, I could use a good relaxing red.

The 30 year Jade on the other hand... holy smokes! That is some spectacular stuff!

Hang in there bud.......might be one of those strains that won’t work for a year, who knows.

Was EXACTLY the same for me with red elephant Kali v2. Was ok for 9 months and I rarely reached for it due to mediocre results but kept hearing all this praise.

Tried it again two weeks ago and it was insanely good and Now I am glad I got a bunch of it......

Thanks and just checked and I DO already have an opened 100g bag of Green 525 in addition to the 500g I just bought! I think I'll probably want to trade. Oh wait I'm confused, 525 is Samarinda, not MCR? I also just got 250g of that not knowing I already have it.

MCR is an excellent red for us green people. Its not slow like a traditional red. I used it all day at work and was fine. The samarinda (for me) was not slow either. I like both of these.

Yep, took me awhile to figure that out, wish I knew that before ordering 250g cuz I still have 100g of green 525! Could've used it more to see how I really like it. Wish they put the test name next to the strain name on the menu.

I would have at least liked to know if what I tested ended up on the menu and the name it did. I recently ordered the best red I've ever had and I'm pretty sure at some point it will be on their menu so I need to be *careful* I don't order it again.

This time around I asked if Get er Done green was anything I tested and it was not, so I went ahead and ordered it.

I tested a great red recently as well. Red 709 and Red 711 I believe (I think those are the right batch id numbers but I need to check as I'm going off memory). Wonder what you tested Kelly to see if we tested the same red samples. Both the reds I tested were energetic to me. One of them was the most energetic red I've tested in a while so I put on the survey that I actually thought it was a "white" but I haven't asked about the samples yet. I'll have to find the samples to see if those are the correct numbers though

Are the test batch numbers and their strain names when they make the menu ever posted anywhere, or do you just have to email Chris and ask? I asked about some of the batches I tested, and the only one that will be on the menu at some point in the future is White 649, however he didn't say what it will be called on the menu.

I forgot to get the Wild Green Hulu in my order  But I have an excuse for another order. I got the Wild Mature Green MD, the new Wild Golden Gajah: BTA-41C and got more Baik Bali Red Especial: I-KUN11 because that strain has grown on me and become one of my very favorites!

How's the new wild green hulu compared to past versions of that strain/batch? You get any new samples too? Jealous you live so close to TFH! I'd offer to work for them haha

This new Wild Green Hulu is probably the best I’ve had in a few batches. Maybe since ir-25 (and that’s saying something.) Now, that could be fresh alks talking, but this one looks amazing, tastes amazing, smells amazing, and most of all, hits amazing.

Energetic (but not overly so,) mood boost with some relief. Pretty much has it all for me. Happy leaf at its finest. Somewhat reminiscent of the 30 year Jade Hulu.

The Wild Mature GMD is special. You can tell this is from special leaf. Has a littler tanner color than the Wild Green Hulu Kapuas (but is still very much green in color.) It’s hard to describe, but it “looks” mature. High quality leaf.

These both fall in line with the quality I’ve come to expect from TFH, especially the amazing run they are on this year.

I have 3 Reds to test, 707, 709 and 711. I think best time to test is starting fresh in the AM and would hate to be too relaxed when I have to wake up and work so hoping they're energetic!

707 is still in consumer testing. Its likely going to make the menu, but there is no ETA on when that might be. Something to consider is that batches dont always appear on the menu quickly once testing is complete. They could be menu ‘ed right away, or 6-8 months down the road. We stock up on batches when the harvesting conditions are ideal so that we have a consistent quality menu year-round...there is no "wet season" slumps with menu. BTW - the dry and wet season thing is something I plan to do a write up on sometime in the future, if I do it will be added to the "Behind the Scenes of the Kratom Industry" post that I wrote.

I wanted to chime in here because this thread is touching on a topic that Angie and I have been kicking around amongst ourselves for a couple of months now. We have been considering for a while now the possibility of not allowing test samples to be purchased until they make the menu. The reason for this is we simply want to make sure that folks are not unknowingly purchasing items twice (once as a tester, and then down the road as a menu item). This used to be a somewhat rare possibility as the requests to purchase test samples were somewhat low in volume, but in the past year its becoming much more common. Today we find there is a lot of "cross-talk and sharing of notes" between testers, resulting in large volumes of orders for products before they are even qualified for the menu. In fact, it’s not uncommon at all now for people to submit an entire order of items that are currently in testing despite the fact that they have never tested any of them themselves. As a fan of the leaf myself - I totally get it... word spread and you got to get it, lol. However, this is a problem for us because

1. It corrupts the integrity of our testing process via response bias. This may seem like not a big deal, but this is the kind of thing I lose sleep over....its a big deal to me, lol.
2. It has created an increasingly growing amount of workload for us in packaging up test products and reviewing testing history, survey data, and order history to ensure people are not unknowingly ordering something a 2nd time.

We currently do a really good job of cross-referencing survey data and order history with incoming orders from testers...its not something that members currently need to worry about. I'm sure that some folks here can testify to us having "stepped in" on an order and letting them know that they had already ordered something before when it was in testing. I don’t know that we catch them 100% of the time, but Id say we are pretty close to 100%. However, it's honestly such a huge time eater and sometimes it feels like we just don't have the time to do it (we still do it, it just can delay orders sometimes). Even when people are proactive when placing orders by asking us about their past samples and orders, it still takes time for us to fish through the multiple excel sheets to reference survey and order history....its not really any faster than when we do it ourselves. By design/choice, Angie and I operate the whole business ourselves, and let's just say that with 2 little ones it's a delicate balance!

As many of you know, we haven’t had a community event for a looong time, and that is primarily due to our limited bandwidth. Over the last year we have quietly expanded our consumer testing process both in the number of samples we are testing, but also the layers of complexity we have added to achieve better data. So much more time has been invested into product research this past year. It's a monster to manage in itself (which I am not complaining about... I love this stuff!), but having to cross-check incoming orders against survey submissions and order history is a bite more than I can chew. Before somebody points out that we could automate our ordering process through our website, Id share that we actually already do have a working website, but we intentionally choose not to use it. Doing so would take away our ability to engage directly with our customers, which is something Angie and I both really value (when I was a consumer, I absolutely loved the vendors who were "accessible"). One day we might be forced to move there, but as of now we have intentionally limited our customer base to avoid having to do so.

We have been discussing different options with members privately and have gotten a variety of suggestions (using our website - see above, hiring somebody to manage it, writing a computer program that could analyze it, etc) We thank everyone for the ideas! Right now we are in the frame of mind of "simplifying things", we really do not want to add complexity to our process right now. Almost unanimously, people are in agreement that they really value the opportunity to purchase items they test, especially because sometimes the batch they fall in love with never makes it to the menu. With that, a lot of people have suggested we continue to allow sample purchases with the understanding that those who wish to orders testers know that they run the risk of unintentionally ordering it again sometime in the future. The rationale is if its a batch that they loved enough to order it during consumer trials that it wouldn’t be the worst thing to wind up with some "extra" of said batch. If we went this route, we would have to politely decline individual requests for testing information or the various tester IDs a batch has had…something Im not sure about.

Some of you may wonder why its so hard to keep up with, and the answer is there is a lot more going on in our testing process than what it appears on the surface. In addition to different testing groups, we also put controls and blinds in to help us overcome some obstacles with bias submissions. Unfortunately, we have found that just giving everyone the same samples labeled the same thing doesn’t provide us with the best data. That means sometimes people get the same sample sent to them as different testing ID's, colors, etc, and sometimes they even receive the same sample 2-3 times under different names (sometimes in a single round of testing, and sometimes they unknowingly test a sample they have previously scored). Also, sometimes batches on the current menu are sent out for more testing as a comparison against a different batch (sometimes we are concerned that a new batch may be too similar to a batch already on the menu, if its too similar we have to make sure we dont also add that batch to the menu). The different situations and scenarios we implement are long. I know some people have asked if all of that is really necessary and I would say yes...it’s absolutely necessary. With how much time and monetary investment goes into our testing process and procurement of products, we cannot afford to use data that is "kind of useful". Also, the perceived quality of our menu is everything to me. Using the example I mentioned above - if one batch is too similar to another batch that means there will likely be some cross-tolerance between them. This could cause somebody to perceive a batch as "meh" simply because its too similar to something they regularly consume. Our process is something that has been morphed and refined over years, and we clearly get much better data now than when we first started, the layers of complexity do have a big payoff - its definitely worth it.

I'll have to do some digging, but I know at one point I wrote a post that gave a small taste of how things score differently when the only thing different about the samples was the "color" assigned to it in testing. If I find it, Ill re-post is here or on a new thread, but even in that small snapshot, I provided its easy to see how tester bias affects survey data. At any rate, the solution is not as simple as just writing on the menu what test sample something was and even if it were, I wouldn’t do that anyways for the sake of data integrity and protecting our methods.

I know we have a lot of TFH members who support our testing process and would happily complete our surveys regardless if they are able to order test samples or not. I think most people recognize that in the end, they only stand to benefit from helping make sure our menu is comprised of quality options (which is exactly one of the things consumer survey data accomplishes). However, Im also aware that some of our members only like to provide survey data because in return they are able to order the samples they test....its kind of like a free sample pack if you will. I totally understand that - its certainly something we are weighing in to whatever we decide moving forward. And yes.... I know some members are tired us constantly asking for test volunteers... surveys are annoying. I get it! (In my defense though we do make them pretty painless and quick.... besides - you can't love the product but hate the process, lol!)

Anyways, I thought I would ask the community real quick which of the below options would be preferred:

1. We do not allow the purchase of test samples, any requests to do so are politely declined.
2. We allow the purchase of test samples, but that comes with the understanding that the item you are purchasing might appear on the menu one day. When asked, we will politely decline requests to "confirm" what sample IDs it was tested as.

If anyone else has other suggestions that you want to share, we would love to hear them! Keep in mind we are looking for something low-tech, easy to implement, and does not compromise our testing methods (revealing the various testing IDs for each batch in testing). If you have an idea, we would just kindly ask that you email us directly and not post your suggestions here. We know there are probably some other alternatives and we want to hear about them, however, not in a public forum, please. Thanks!

Re: TFH green recommendations?

And let me say that I am COMPLETELY sorry for any causing of this issue.

It was tough for me because, honestly, the sample I tested was the best of any kratom I've ever had. But, as we all know, SO many factors enter into that that it would have been best not to mention it at all. I promise I will not, in the future, ever do that (assuming Chris trusts me enough again :>).

Because I feel like I'm fairly objective I really don't think my experience with the sample (which I did twice) was in any way erroneous or had any placebo or "expectation" bias. In fact, because three or four previous kratom doses (after my reset) had been such duds I think my expectation could not have been any lower. The surprise at getting such a hit, under the same conditions I did not previous, caught me by surprise.

In any case, is it any wonder TFH is such an amazing experience. I wish Chris and Angie the best and let's hope they can manager the issues they are facing (some of them because they ARE the best).

(And my vote is for possible ordering something twice. In this case I actually think I should do that but I'll wait until it makes the menu).

Hey Kellytunes - thanks as always for the kind words! No need for an apology, as you didnt cause any issues, lol. Im 100% honest in saying Angie and I have been discussing ways to manage this long before this or any post by you were made. It actually has nothing to do with any posts - its just we are finally realizing we have a growing monster that needs to be tamed. If anything, I could say thank you for the comments that allowed me to chime in to share what we have been wrestling with!

Kellytunes - I was just giving the forum a look over to see what you were talking about because I didnt understand how anythign you posted was taken that way. Lol, I just now saw the new thread you made specifically about this situation. I had NO IDEA you posted that when I wrote the comments above, I literally just saw it. No worries on the post, this is exactly what this forum is for! You cant share ideas like this on SOME popular forums (who will remane nameless), which is why Double M is King!

With that said - I would prefer that members email us directly to share their thoughts if they are not the two I listed in my previous comments. Sometimes things can seem much easier to execute than they really are, and I want to avoid a lot of steam getting behind an idea that is unrealistic and/or I know will never happen.

Thanks for caring to share!
