Whatch'all doin Turkey Day, Christmas Day, and any day in the holiday season?
I'ma dabble in the pies, a trial banana cream pie went over well, and gotta buy that pecan pie from Anna Millers'. They used to be 24/hr Pennsylvania dutch with Hawaiian deli, they still haven't opened back to full speed, but man, they have like 30 types of pie.
My dad's close friends, a couple who live in Canada, usually vacay here during autumn/winter, but they haven't been here since Covid. Miss them, they're great people. We usually go to their hotel (they have the same room at the same hotel every year) and their other family come over. Or my mom's sis and some of my cousins come over when we had a larger house. My uncle makes the best smoked chicken... amazingly good. Shoot, I gotta float that idea right now.
Aloha, y'all, and how bout yourselves?

Not too much for Thanksgiving. My sister, her husband, and my nephew and niece are coming over for a few hours.
For Christmas this year, we are doing the whole big family Christmas. Gonna be a full house with lots of people! Family coming in from all around the country.

We had Friendsgiving with a good friend, her family and a Venezualan family that she invited as they are being sheltered in our town. Our friend is cool that way
.
We haven't done Christmas in ten years but I didn't even care for it then because we're not Christians and don't like the consumerist madness, Our Unitarian Universalist congregation is hosting a Winter Solstice Feast (since that's how this all started) and we have a little 'Pagan Spirit' in us. I hope the food is good. I have to bring something but I do not cook. I'll figure something out or just pick something up at a deli, lol. There's a Medieval theme, there will be singing and even Jousting! Not with horses, I hope. And it's a family event so I don't suppose there will be any actual genuine Medieval Solstice behavior (if you know what I mean). On the 24th the UU has a big evening service and on the 25th we'll just hang out and wait for the 26th to arrive. The weather should be in the low 50s this year so we're happy about that.
Evryone have a very Happy Holiday, however you observe it!
