Pics of SoCal?

Post by livi2fly »

Hey guys, thinking about ordering a little bit more SoCal and I was wondering if anyone has a picture of the 250g bag. I really like the new bags but the way it doesn't open up on the bottom kind of worries me a little bit for ordering more than an oz. Thanks!

I don't have any recent, but you're right, the SoCal 250g bags I got early this year do not spread at the bottom so you can stand them up. They just lie flat.

Which is all the same to me; I tend to hold the bag at an angle in one hand and spoon out with the other hand. To me, an open bag of kratom standing up on its own is an accident waiting to happen, so I don't: even if I'm not clumsy enough to make it happen myself (and usually I am) we have cats who are happy to help redistribute -anything- temporarily balanced -anywhere-.

I've actually been thinking about getting one of those old-style stand up napkin holders to use when dosing kratom, for exactly that reason. I don't have room for jars or tupperware or I'd go that route... much more stable.

On the other hand, I recently got these -- both cheap and airtight -- so if you're limited to vendor bags but don't like flat ones, use these or something like them for daily dosing and replenish as needed. I also use them for other vendors' 500g and kilo bags -- even when they stand up, the lower in content they get the more prone they are to tipping over. So these smaller stand-up bags work well for daily dosing.

Don't let bag design keep you from good leaf. :D

I really like those little baggies on Amazon! I probably will end up ordering from SoCal again anyways. I just don't like reaching inside the 250g bags and getting kratom all over my hand. But I guess that's a little bit silly to complain about

Nah, I get it -- why would you want to waste all the kratom that sticks to your hand every time you do that?

I usually use a long handled iced tea spoon (aka dessert spoon) whenever I dose. I have them laying around anyway, they're handy and always getting used so we have a bunch of 'em, but they're cheap on Amazon too. I think these were the last ones we got. A regular spoon will do, but these are long enough to hit the bottom of even a kilo bag and not get your hands dusty, and the bowl of the spoon is a good shape and size for dosing without spilling a bunch of it on its way over to the scale.

I gotta warn you, though -- if you get these you'll probably end up getting more, heh. I couldn't give less of a crap about flatware but I'm always using these for something. We probably have a dozen or so now. :D

I use a little tiny scooper that came with some headshop kratom over a year ago. It holds about 1g so I have to scoop a few times, but I like that spoon. I might have to get a set :)
