I really enjoyed the novel, but I feel like no movie will ever do it justice. Plus, Sting won't be in this one, so there's that.

Looks cool and it's Warner Bros which means it should also be available on release to stream on HBOmax. Can watch it from the comfort of my own couch (I hate movie theaters).

HBOmax is great because you can stream Warner Bros theatrical releases the same day they're available in theaters.

Also my favorite book(s), along with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I've read the first three Dune books like five
or six times...it's that good. Can't wait for new movie to arrive!

Have had my eye on the documentary, giving it a rental now.

You gotta read all the original books by Frank Herbert, to me they are canon, but his son Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson wrote many books, most of them prequels, which have great information and ideas, but are very poorly written. I haven't read all of them.

I'm getting out an N95 mask and going sometime during the week, early. I can't remember the
last time I was excited to see a movie in the theater.

My wife got me a projector and screen for my birthday in January because I love to go to the theater, but there's a pandemic, so...

Decent ones can be had for around $200. They're fast enough that I can play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe without any noticeable lag.

My son and I went and saw it in the theatre tonight and I think its superb !
we went to the theatre to see it on the big screen and make sure it has the financial success so they give part 2 the green light.

Very good adaptation of the first half of the book! Movie ran 3 hours cause they liked to put in long shots of ships and organized soldiers, get all the atmosphere and grandiosity in. Killer score by Hans Zimmer, really should be watched in a theater. I only wish when Lady Jessica is waiting for Paul to take the test of the gom jabbar and recites the Litany Against Fear, you can't hear her say the whole thing. Hope Paul recites it in part 2.

This is going to be very bittersweet. Their dad was a HUGE Dune fan and passed before he could see the movie.

The director is a big fan of the story and tried to make the movie a 'love letter to the book.' I think he succeeded, at least so far! Can't wait for the second half.

I already had Dune but not the other five written by Frank Herbert (nor had I read them) so I ordered them all about a month ago. I had been looking at this

And Sisterhood of Dune seemed interesting, that's one of my favorite things in that Universe. But when all the books came I had ordered Navigators of Dune by mistake. So I read through
all the original books, then read Sisterhood and I was sorely disappointed. Navigators was somewhat better.

I also just ordered Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune since they're supposed to be directly after the original Chapterhouse: Dune but that's as far as I'm willing to
go with the son's books.

I made a spice melange essential oil blend to wear in a diffuser necklace. I love the smell of cinnamon but by itself it's kind of linear. So I added some
things to round it out, make it richer smelling.

The majority of the base is three kinds of cinnamon (bark, leaf and cassia) and then there's a drop or two of ginger, cardamom, clove, black pepper,
nutmeg, benzoin, tunisian frankincense and my 22 year old aged patchouli I've been hoarding. Opened the bottle for the first time just for this
occasion and almost couldn't get it open. Patchouli this old is very thick and sticky, like molasses, the bottle was glued shut. This patchouli smells
heavenly, nothing like a new bottle of the cheap stuff. Much softer and richer. Patchouli is one of the few oils that improves with age, I believe
sandalwood is another.

Patchouli? is the smell funeral homes use? I like it but its a bit to strong for my taste. I dont even know how to describe it.

Ha! Years ago I said he'd make a perfect Count Fenrig. He has the smooth moves of a dancer/expert swordsman, and he could easily mimic Fenrig's infuriating talent for drawing out his words, and putting odd emphases on them.

With Shaddam he could just play him as an older version of Max Zorin.
