AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DOUBLEM COMMUNITY
DoubleM Community:
First of all, we love every one of you. Your support has enabled us to provide for our family, and more importantly, provide high quality Kratom to our community. Please take the time to read this and think about one of the issues Kratom vendors face on a daily basis.
I have been needing to post this for a while. I know there are alot of new members here, as well as people new to Kratom in general. As a rule, please DO NOT ask your vendors about Kratom and health effects. Specifically, don't ask for recommendations for Kratom for pain relief, anxiety, depression, and opiate withdrawal mitigation, etc. We have had FOUR people contact us within a 20 minute timeframe today asking for recommendations for those specific ailments. This was very odd to me. Kratom is an HERBAL SUPPLEMENT, and it needs to be treated as one.
The FDA HATES Kratom and loves to send out warning letters to vendors / businesses who promote Kratom for medicinal purposes:
https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-a ... ted-opioid
WHY YOU SHOULDN'T ASK VENDORS ABOUT EUPHORIA:
When describing kratom as euphoric, vendors violate the FDA guidelines for the supplement industry by comparing kratom to a street drug, or street drug alternative. Please read this publication by the US Food and Drug Administration for more information:
https://www.fda.gov/media/71027/download
Specifically regarding Policy, "FDA considers any product that is promoted as a street drug alternative to be an
unapproved new drug and a misbranded drug in violation of sections 505 and 502 of the
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Such violations may result in regulatory action,
including seizure and injunction."
The best we can do is encourage people to leave us reviews, and then, of course, state that those are not our statements. It may sound like an innocent question to you, but the FDA DOES monitor social media, online conversations, and absolutely websites like these. Some vendors are backpackers, working alone, and mostly out of sight. Others are like us, and, have a more modest online presence. We rely on this business to support our family. Neither should have to suffer financial loss to appease a customer's request for medical advice.
I encourage the community to chime in on this and share your facts and opinions. With the coronavirus vaccine being made available, my opinion is that the FDA will be switching gears on Kratom this year. Please be educated and informed about what you can and cannot talk about with your vendors. I for one will not be losing my business in 2021 for giving a seemingly harmless recommendation for medicinal use.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT US (VENDORS) AT RISK BY ASKING THESE QUESTIONS.
Respectfully,
Ben at Lucky Herbals

I hope it's alright that I'm bumping this! I'd asked vendors for pain relief recs before and only belatedly realized that I shouldn't have done so. Hopefully other newbies see this info so we don't keep putting vendors in awkward positions with those types of questions.

Good call bumping that - this is 100% key. This is probably something that deserves monthly bumps!Sanbutsushin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:58 pm I hope it's alright that I'm bumping this! Re: AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DOUBLEM COMMUNITY
So what words are okay?
Are inquiries about fast and slow okay? I usually say visibly green strains work better, I don’t want visibly brown strains.
Are words like potency or moodlift okay? Or none of these? Is it okay to say I am not a pain patient but I struggled with drug addiction to the vendors?
I think you should update this with what people should say.

Re: AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DOUBLEM COMMUNITY
Questions about the batches themselves are fine, like the colors or mitra content or whether they're fermented, stuff like that. Framing questions in a way that could seem like asking for medical advice is what's frowned upon. Anything that's like "I have [insert medical condition], which strains are effective for treating that?" is a no-no because vendors can be held legally responsible if they're advising anyone in that capacity. But if you go to them saying the greenest powder tends to suit your needs then that's okay and they can point you in the right direction. I think it's alright to mention your addiction so long as you're not asking them how to treat it.Cuttlefish wrote: ↑Sat Apr 17, 2021 10:46 am So what words are okay?

I don't know about anyone else, but I just use kratom simply for candle-making, insense, and soap products.

Re: AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DOUBLEM COMMUNITY
I lost all of my kratom in a boating accident. (That's what everyone always says on 2nd Amendment and gun-grab posts on r/conspiracy about guns, just thought i'd try it on for size...)
Seriously though, do you have any kratom strong enough to act as an FDA repellant when thrown into the American Air? (as I understand it, the same air THEY breathe, oddly) If so, ill take a kilo. Haha!
What helps you helps us, and vise-versa. Thanks for this post and thanks for bumping it. Of the utmost importance.

Understood. And also understood is that the FDA uses misinformation & fake research to justify a predetermined action on their part, whether to ban a substance or to authorize it. Americans can no longer trust what they do.
