Botanical Bunny Red Nano (Lot 18-Batch 2009)
First off I just want to say I am very new to kratom. Only been taking it for about a week so take this review with a grain of salt. This is my first order from a reputable vendor that I thank this site for helping me find. Thus far, I have only had two strains from local head shops.
I decided to place my first actual order with Botanical Bunny due to their appealing prices, selections, and good praise here. I got 5 different strains and will be reviewing them throughout the week as I try them.
To get an idea of how I dose, I typically start with 3 grams and that can get me feeling nice and sedated with the current head shop strains I have been taking.
So, the red nano. Couldn't really find anything on it here and it was the one I was the most excited to try and give you all my input. Unfortunately, I was a bit let down. Light brown powder that made the water a dark murky brown. I dosed 3 grams. Very mild taste. I felt it creeping up about 15 minutes in. That seemed like a good sign but after an hour it hadn't seemed to push much past the feeling I got while it was creeping up. I decided to top off with another gram and a half. The feelings increased slightly. I dosed another half gram to make it 5 total.
Currently I am two hours in. It is not fast, but not really slow either. I guess chill would probably be the best way to describe it. It pushed my headache I had off to the side which was nice. I wouldn't call this pain relieving but definitely helped distract me from the headache. Laying on the couch playing a game on my phone has been nice and relaxing. I feel slightly warm, calm and relaxed but definitely not feeling sedation. Taking 5 grams to start might possibly get me to where I want to be without waiting, hoping, and redosing.
Compared to the two headship strains I've been taking, this stuff is quite weak. Not full on warm, fuzzy, sedated like I was hoping for. Is it bad kratom? Absolutely not. I could see this being decent to mix or just a casual any time strain. Personally, I would not order it again though. Just is not what I am looking for.

Tbh any of those dark brown/red tarp dried or fermented "reds" I never have good effects with but they do have decent pain relief but that's it. Idk what happened in this industry but now all the reds we see lately are this super dark earthy color reds and they just don't do it for me. The last red I had that was good was Premium Red thai from a different vendor and it was dark green in color not brown. Seems like all the reds being sold nowadays are these tarp dried/fermented ones that lack potency. However I still see some people swear by them but idk maybe it's a body chemistry thing.

Does the nano grind help it dissolve in water easier? That would be my only reason for getting it.Frostyjayjay wrote:First off I just want to say I am very new to kratom. I, agree. the brown fluffy stuff is garbage. The only brown should be a bent.mitragy9 wrote:Tbh any of those dark brown/red tarp dried or fermented "reds" I never have good effects with but they do have decent pain relief but that's it. Welcome! You can get a jump start by realizing, most of what U read online about kratom is 90% pure BS lol...Frostyjayjay wrote:First off I just want to say I am very new to kratom. But, since powder color is hard to tell, by looking at a website - Your better off only buying "greens".
Also pay no attention to those who take HUGE doses to feel anything... Unless you're a heroin addict, stick with 1-2 grams!

I agree at this point when I see fermented strains I just feel like its a waste of perfectly good leaf. I know for some people it is supposed to increase pain killing effects but I feel that a strong green can be a great pain reliever toomitragy9 wrote:Tbh any of those dark brown/red tarp dried or fermented "reds" I never have good effects with but they do have decent pain relief but that's it. Re: Botanical Bunny Red Nano
there has to be some bio-chem component to the (f)utility of fermented kratom. Clearly there is a market, whether it be suckers, newbs, ex-junkies, or what, they keep sticking leaf in bags in the sun.
I personally feel bummed every time I hear someone say they get nothing from well-cured, properly done ferment. There are some I have that are almost too much and are reserved for the days I just cannot sleep. But wholly...'darker' kratom gives me that feeling akin to previously abused substances in a strange way.
I understand those who get nothing to not enjoy...but to say that ALL darker colored leaf is ALL crap is not only wrong, but its just a bad attitude to carry around in any situation. I have some slight fermented, partial ferments and full that have seemingly done expertly. D615 Red Jungle, TFH Deep Jungle Red MD, Heavenleaf Jungle Red (are we seeing a pattern here)...im just saying, theres a market and there is properly done 'red' kratom.

Re: Botanical Bunny Red Nano
Oh I am well aware of all the BS that goes on in the kratom industry. I did quite a bit of research before even trying it and this forum has been a wealth of information. The in depth post about the ins and outs of this industry was really eye opening. That said, I use "strain" mainly out of habit and ease of use. Batch makes more sense but strain just seems to have a ring to it haha.
I do find it interesting that despite the fact that most people on this forum, as well as others, are well aware that strain and color are total nonsense for the most part they still prefer a certain "color" and will claim the colors generally conform to a certain feeling. It certainly makes buying rather confusing for a new person.
Back to the batch at hand, it was definitely different than the others I have tried. Different color than the other four I received from BB as well. Maybe fermented, maybe processed different, maybe just lower quality leaf? I don't have much experience to go off of. It for sure smelled and tasted different as well. I didn't find it particularly pain relieving, stimulating, or euphoric. Somewhat sub par mid spec is how I'd classify it, though I do think others who enjoy mid spec or less in your face batches may enjoy it. I just like a potent slow, which it was not. I did sample the Red Banjar tonight and that one really hit well for me, so for that I am glad. I will be reviewing that one tomorrow. Currently enjoying my burn with it right now

That is what I have been finding through browsing this forum. Definitely have a few vendors and batches that I'd like to try!

I didn't find the grind to be any different than the few other batches I've been using. Did not mix any easier. Even if it did, I wouldn't find that reason alone to make this worth grabbing. A shaker bottle or even just a plain old water bottle makes quick work of leaf that doesn't wanna mix.

Ugh sorry for the terrible quotes. New to the forum and I'm having trouble quoting just the sections I want

to avoid the quoting issue, just head to 'post reply' as opposed to clicking quote on someone elses response.
your comment will be blank, but scrolling past the white box shows the entire thread under 'Topic Review"......highlighting any info you would like to quote in this section, and THEN hitting the 'quote' button, will pull just the section highlighted into your once-blank reply box.
this way you arent quoting 3 or 4 people and having it flub up. always start blank and quote ON the reply page
helps ya get
