Starshine, that is an awesome display! I love the labeling and neatness of it. When I live on my own, I aspire to have a setup similar. Right now I use a plastic drawer, and all the bags are stacked according to color. But you go it going on right there!
Great job!

thanks! it really does make it easy and, bonus, it's cute! working on increasing my vendor selection so I can come up with a solid plan for rotating. up soon (got alarms set for restocks lol)... denette, lucky, rhino (tried from trading post and loved), benni's,..... ok... that's a good start ;)

It is cute!! I agree. I like to doodle and design so maybe that would vibe with me to decorate jars for my collection. I too am trying to expand my vendors too. I have TFH, mitraman, and smiley time. I have like 15 TFH strains so those stay rotating. I almost have to make a chart for when I take what haha

I had that kind of setup when I first started, but I've been using bags for the last 5-6 years. I just rotate each color separately, so I'm always taking something new.

Besides, I can't let my husband know how many different strains we have. They'd all disappear! As far as he knows, we've got a few basic strains.

Hey Jestrice,

It was one of the 30 Year Wild TFH batches. I had a lot of faith in it. I haven't had any for maybe 9 months? I just hope it continues to work for me. The funny thing is that Chris had SO MUCH of it. He was selling it to his regulars AND it was still there even after two open events . He noted right here on Double M that it was one of his own favorites, and yet there it sat on his shelves. "Well, more for me!!"  .His Red Sunda was also way above average. But just to prove that old saying that "what works for You may not work for me," The Red Muna had a lot of fans but when I tested it I was not feeling it at all. I really like TFH reds, but they don't all hit the same. That's good really, I think. I bought a sample pack from SOSA - 9 strains - last year. And although I'd give those reds a solid 7/10, I could not tell the slightest difference between any of them. Taste, fragrance, effects, timing - all exactly the same. Could they have - maybe - all come from the same batch?

OK, I'm not accusing anyone of anything (and putting sample orders together isn't profitable), but it does make me think twice about what I'm ordering these days :? I will probably always be devoted to TFH because, even if a 'strain' doesn't work for me, I still know what Chris&Fam are doing in terms of creating a product with the consumer's NEEDS first and foremost.. With or without degrees in science or chemistry, they are Kratom Science Pioneers, imo :D

Hey Greyfeather, could you reccomend some strains for me to try? I have never tried TFH. How long does it typically take to receive your order durring one of these events? Just curious I'm fine with the wait

Hi Corde!

The 30 Year Wild Red and the Wild Red TFH have both been on the menu for some time, so I'm sure that they would be good. I have ordered the Wild Red TFH and I found it a bit less potent than my favorite but still a good 8/10. Both of these strains are only available in 100g bags. That's something to keep in mind. This might be best if you just want to experiment :D .I wish I could give you more info., but so many of the current RED offerings are brand new (at least to me), and I love the reds.

I can assure you, however, that the Wild Crafted Rocket Red has gotten a LOT of love here on MM and you can get as much as you want if you are first in line ;)  . It really all depends on what you want. I go for reds for pain management and TFH seldom disappoints. MANY folks love their greens for the same reason - pain management. I just don't need the extra 'energy' that others love. I have found that TFH Whites are good for pain too. If you need a mood lift, all of their whites are getting great reviews.

How soon will you get your order? Chris usually announces the time frame for shipping. Since this is only a 14(???) day event, shipment will depend on how the vendor is setting up their cadence. I hope to see more information about shipping in the days to come. During the last pre-order shipment went out as early as 6 days after ordering. It seems a bit long, but TFH is absolutely slammed during these events while only TWO people have to do every last bit of work. It's worth the wait ;)

I hope this has been some help. If I can be of more help, just give me a shout out :D

Oh dear. Nothing lasts forever I guess.. What happens to Supply & Demand :? when Chris get hit with 1000 orders, from n00bs wanting multiple kilo's and many 1st time posters on MM?

Some hard choices, probably? What should TFH do:
  • Increase Quantity, to satisfy new demand, EVEN if Indo suppliers cannot maintain same Quality?
  • Limit Demand (quantity) with Max orders, 100g bags, higher prices, or Closed to new members?
Those are your two BASIC choices. 8-) Of course, many variations on both of those... I'm not even addressing his capacity to process orders, answer Emails, organize packing & shipping. All take time and affect operations... Is everyone on MM, OK with Max orders of 1 Kilo? maybe ~ In order to spread the goodies to more people? OR, has the Community decided that TFH kratom is definitely, better and worth more $ than other vendors ~ In that case, should TFH raise prices? Just throwing out some ideas to help Chris & Angie here... Suggestion Box!

We're in the middle of a Pandemic, too, and there are reports of USPS Mail slowing down.
Banned on Reddit: KratomVendors is now on SAIDIT!
Please check out my current Auctions/ Sales on MM Trading Post! I'm also on MeWe/ Saidit/ Reddit. Thanks!

If that facebook spread is true, that company adage of 'for connoisseurs by connoisseurs' no longer remains. personally, a 1k max for us seems not only fair but plenty for something like this that they choose to do, out of kindness, for those who aren't 'established members'. that said, that really hurts the folks here who go nuts and keep doomsday boxes etc etc, but the quality remaining is what i think they would obviously always go with. I hope they don't get smashed beyond belief come 8/16

also, Conde....you should soon be able to join the trading post, and there is often samplers up either entirely comprised of TFH leaf, or containing at least some. You should scroll through and see the stuff that is offered up and allows for a great way to try vendors or strains you're unable to.

Id like to join this event. I've never tried TFH before but what are the prices? I may have missed it but I assume it's $25 per 250 gram bags like other popular vendors?

But yes, if I were TFH and orders are too much, I'd impose a 1Kilo limit.thats very faur and understandable

All the information you need is on the first page of this post, how to order, etc. There's a link to his stock list and the prices are on the top.

I can't find anything public. Does this mean we'll be overrun? I've already seen a bunch of duplicate questions. I don't want it to turn into just another Facebook group. This are crazy.

Hey gang - I was logging in to update our ordering instructions and thought I would chime in here on a few of the comments I have seen in this thread ;) . Sorry I've been somewhat of a lurker on the forum lately - we have been working like crazy trying to get ready for this next event ;) Some topics I have been meaning to add to the "Behind the Scenes of the Kratom Industry" are long overdue- I might do some "addendum" type entries here in the next day or so if I can squeeze in the time.

Before replying to some of the comments I have read in this thread, I want to thank everyone for their continued support, despite us not being able to hold to the dates on our previous event. I know that with the event ending early, it totally threw a wrench in some people's plans. Angie and I are eager to "finish what we started" and we appreciate your patience while we took some much needed time to regroup. I also wanted to give a big thank you to all of the forum vets here who have been so helpful in giving other folks guidance on how we (TFH) operates. We always see the helpful responses given when somebody asks "can anyone tell me how to order from TFH" - please note that it does not go unnoticed. In general, none of the kind and supportive comments go unnoticed - in fact we read them over and over ;)

Speaking of how we operate - we are going to try and made the ordering process for this event a little less cumbersome. I know that sometimes ordering from us during these events might feel like you are prepping for the SAT's  . We are trying to find the balance between providing the information you need upfront without being too complex... it's a challenging task. The thing is the way we operate is WONDERFUL for the type of service we normally provide our private members, but it really works against us when we open up to a high volume of customers. Since we accept orders via email - we are much more accessible than vendors who fill orders from a website. As a result, some folks leverage the opportunity to ask all kinds of questions, request recommendations, or just fulfill general curiosities about kratom (everything from helping to craft a personalized serving schedule, giving advice on various kratom preparations, providing a breakdown of the effects of each item on our menu... pretty much anything you can imagine). All of these things we would love to do under normal circumstances, but they all take a great deal of time and we are simply unable to do so during events. With that said, we have to put some kind of guardrails in place to keep things as efficient as possible. We had a LOT of success with how the last event went in terms of ordering efficiency, but we also understand its a huge pain in the rear to have to follow all of those directions! At any rate, we appreciate everyone reading our lengthy "how-to guide" on placing orders. We will try to trim down the directions to see how this event goes. If we dont find a good balance, we might just switch to using our website for future events. By the way - suggestions on how to balance it are welcome!

**After publishing this comment - I saw all of the facebook comments so I figured I should edit this post to add my two cents ;)

The fears about Facebook traffic are not needed! We are not new to the Facebook groups, our brand has been circulating in the private groups for a long time. We dont participate on Facebook, but we have plenty of our members that do and we get tons of membership requests every day in our inbox (emails from facebookers are easy to spot a mile away... one of the giveaways is they always use the word "tea" because of how Facebook censors talk about kratom  ). At any rate, we've been getting traffic from those groups for a long time, I dont see that anything with that has changed. I know imagine that with us selling through our product early during the last event there might be the reason for concern, but after review of our penetration, I can assure you that around 85-90% of our sell-through was to established members on this forum (meaning folks who have been members for a while or are new but active). I do know that some Facebook folks have probably migrated over here because we only serve members of this community - but I view that as a positive thing! As a matter of fact, whenever we decline service, I usually suggest that they visit Double M to find an alternative vendor. I really do think that some of the best vendors out there are those who are popular here - the folks of this community know good kratom! I think the culture of this community is well-established enough that folks adapt to it... I dont see folks coming here in mass and changing how we roll over here. ;) If you guys think I am wrong, by all means, I will stop, lol. Either way, for reasons I won't get in to, we are pretty particular with who we prefer to serve. If we feel its necessary, we will adjust how we operate our events if needed so that we may serve our intended target.

Ballz had a great point about supply and demand that I want to touch on also. To do so, I want to first give some context as to how we operate.
I know that many folks are baffled by the way we operate (as a private membership, only hold events for this community, etc..).... trust me, I get it. What kind of business regularly turns away customers, lol  .? For the sake of time, I'm going to that answer that by linking to another post. You can read some through some of what I wrote on the topic in the post below (scroll down about half-way through the page to my long comment).

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3957&p=54275#p54275

IMO, the situation of supply and demand Ballz mentioned is SPOT ON. I can't count how many rockstar vendors have fallen from grace as a result of this simple rule of economics. For brevity's sake, I won't go into the detail of how the way the industry is structure it works against quality control - but the very short version is that some vendors eventually make the decision to go with quantity instead of quality whenever the demand for their products increases. Even those with the best of intentions can get tempted into compromising their quality because the kratom industry is so incredibly volatile, you just never know what is around the corner (your supply could dry up, major financial setbacks, lost shipments, legal issues, regulation, etc..). This all makes the temptation to make money whenever you can very difficult to turn away from. As we speak, there are some smaller vendors who are currently sourcing from domestic wholesalers to supplement their stock since it has become increasingly difficult to import kratom. Ive been around long enough to see this repeat itself over and over... many of the old shoolers here know exactly what I am talking about. :ugeek:

With all of that said - we have already committed to our members (and will do the same to this community) that we will NEVER compromise our quality to meet an increased demand. I think that is evident in the sheer number of customers we regularly decline to serve if we were going to bend on our standards it would have already happened a long time ago. Its been our mission from day 1 to stick to our guns and thankfully we dont have the financial pressures to tempt us otherwise. In my opinion - all we (TFH) have is our quality and service. Without it, we really dont have much to stand on, and I predict if we went away with that standard we would disappear accordingly. We dont have flashy marketing, private vendor groups, email marketing campaigns, investments in SEO, etc... we dont even have an active website, lol. 100% of the demand for our products is by word of mouth from the fans of this leaf. Ive been around long enough to know how this community works... word of mouth will only exist if we have the quality that warrants it. We will never change our menu standard or take shortcuts with our sourcing practices. As a matter of fact, I think as the years go by we will only improve our product as we further improve our understanding of what makes quality kratom!

Over the last year and a half, we have been maniacally focused on increasing our capacity and I am happy to report we have been pretty successful in doing so. Regarding capacity, I feel as though we have already done a lot of the "hard work" in establishing the appropriate partnerships and supply chain - now it's more about us taking a gradual and slow and steady approach to our growth to ensure we can stick to our standard. In some of our batches, we already have the ability to get an insanely large amount of product... more than we would ever need (30 Year Wild Super Green anyone?). Some of you may have already noticed this, but some of our most popular batches have been on the menu for over a year! Because of how we source products, we uniquely positioned to test some products before we even commit to milling the leaves into powder. This allows us to "go big" on items that test particularly well. However, we do not have this ability for everything... yet ;) I think that this community will start to see the fruits of our later in the latter half of 2020 and early half of 2021. We are currently investing heavily in products and the results have never been better. If things keep up - you will certainly see us accepting more members and possibly even more frequent events!

Regarding operational capacity - that isnt really a challenge for us. Well, technically it is a huge obstacle right this minute because of COVID (we are self-quarantining, so no employees), but the minute things get back to normal we can do virtually anything we need to (supply will be our only limiting factor). Both Angie and I are well versed in running complex, multi-store operations from our previous careers. We know how to build a team and establish solid SOP's to ensure operational excellence.... well maybe its just Angie who has that last part down

Okay - time to walk away from the keyboard before I write another book!

Many of us are not happy with these drive-by buyers who clog up the system and wipe out the stock. The Double M long time members are the ones who participate in the process. We hype up your leaf. We write the reviews. We read the reviews and compare notes. And when it’s time for us to place a re-order we sit in a queue and hope our favorite strain is still available.

I can relate to what you are saying, its a completely justifiable position. I also have regret if that is a wide-felt sentiment. However, I think perspective is important... you're not the only group that feels this way. I hear plenty of "grumblings" from our existing members whenever announce we are doing an open order event for this community  (they dont all like sharing either). I think it's completely natural for the folks who contribute or "have access" to keep those who "dont have access" or dont contribute out.

The reason I think perspective matters is there is a bit of a "silent majority" that exists among this community that has contributed greatly to our research - at least from my point of view it appears that way. I obviously have no idea what the forum stats are, but I would imagine for every member that regularly posts on the forum, there are at least 4-6 who folks who are just regular lurkers. The reason I say this is that when we publically ask for product testers, we get far more "lurkers" who volunteer than those who regularly comment - and its not even close. Not surprisingly, these former testers are also the largest purchasing group during these events. I dont know if them not being regular participants on the forum makes them less valuable to the community - there is certainly an argument for that. However, they they are the largest segment of folks who contribute to our survey research... it doesn't feel right to me to exclude them. :?

As a matter of fact, our initial plan to sell extra inventory was to hold special events just for those volunteer testers who completed all of their surveys in a timely manner (basically in relation to just our research, the folks who have contributed the most). However, somebody left a right place/ right time comment on the forum that inspired an even better idea - to have an open event specifically for our favorite community! I'm personally very glad we went the route we did because its been a pure joy to get to know a lot of the folks of this community better. I have to think that had we gone the other way, we would not have met many of the fine folks reading this thread right now.

It's really tough to determine what the "right" solution is, but I think we will continue on with our current format for the foreseeable future. For me, the decision boils down to the fact that we would prefer to leave it open to anyone in this community who is interested, and if a few "outsiders" sneak in we prefer that than to leave part of this community out.

I understand the concerns of long wait times or the fear of missing out on some items that sell through quickly... trust me... I am the same way with waiting on my leaf from Indonesia! However, it's worthy to note that the vast majority of event purchases are existing members of this community - only about 10-15% of purchasers are "new" to the forum (meaning they created a login within a few days of placing an order from us). That obviously could change -but its something we pay attention to. If we feel like our events are not reaching our intended target, we will do something to change them.

Speaking of FOMO, If need be, we will hold another event. Importing lately has been a real headache full of delays - we had hoped to have a much wider selection available prior to this event. We have a lot of inventory currently in testing - I am just not sure how much of it will make the menu by the time the event starts (unfortunately, we can't really expedite our menu process). In the event we sell through most of our available products in this event, we will still have PLENTY of product to come back for another "make-up" event in the near future (otherwise our plan is to hold the next event around Thanksgiving).

Our hope is that these events are a net positive for the community, and we will absolutely continue to look for opportunities that might serve the community better! ;) Thanks everyone for your thoughtful feedback and words of support!

This may have been addressed here already but I can't seem to find the number used for the raffle. Or, for that matter, if I even received a number! It may have been in the bag with the order but because I'm a big dummy, I didn't look at the invoice. I still have my original order e-mails but can't seem to find any info outside of the tracking number provided.

I probably didn't win but I'd be pretty bummed if I had a winning number and didn't realize it!

I have been using kratom for a long time now and have tried so many vendors and strains over the years that I always joke that I'm a kratom connoisseur so I have been reading this forum and the ilovekratom forum and I see so much about this TFH place and I see people say it in connoisseur grade leaf so I have been dying to try some of your kratom. Thank you so much for the opportunity gumbyke1!!!

I can see it from members perspective as well and I know that these events probably cause some delays for them when trying to order durring these times, but for the ones that have been waiting to try TFH kratom for years it is a great thing. I'm very excited to order!

the_spookiest wrote:If that facebook spread is true, that company adage of 'for connoisseurs by connoisseurs' no longer remains. personally, a 1k max for us seems not only fair but plenty for something like this that they choose to do, out of kindness, for those who aren't 'established members'. that said, that really hurts the folks here who go nuts and keep doomsday boxes etc etc, but the quality remaining is what i think they would obviously always go with.

I will definitely check out the trading post thank you for the tip!

Many of us lurkers just want good stuff. Some have been around for years. Some have even sworn off basically all of the various forums due to all the insider baseball. And yet, we're all subject to the same supply and demand game.

Everyone just wants "good stuff." But it would be nice if you joined in on the conversation. It's hard to tell how many people are going to participate in something. If we've got 200 other people who have been here for a month and not been active, then they all jump in on something, the people who HAVE been active and participating may miss out. It happened a lot in the beginning of this event. And I recently made the mistake of saying something, then someone got bombarded. I'm hesitant to share again.

I'm not saying you're not wanted here - not at all! But it would be nice if the lurkers gave a little back. At least let us know you're here.
