I don't mind being "old" at all:Kind of like the power going out, it's a lot bigger today then it was years ago, wow and I'm starting to sound like I'm old now...
* I don't mind not needing instant gratification.
* I don't mind not caring what others think of me.
* I don't need a "safe space".
* I don't mind not being a slave to my smartphone.
* I don't mind being content with what I have.
* I don't mind having grown up in an era where everyone worked (I didn't even know what welfare was until after high school). And it wasn't because we were rich, no.... We did with what we had. I never even realized that we didn't have much money when I was young, because no one made a big deal of it.
* People interacted with actual people, not Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, MySpace, etc.
* I had to leave the house to go to a library to do my homework. It taught me to do my own work, not copy 'n paste something on a report, not even knowing what it was about.
* I worked as a teenager (started at 13), in a greenhouse, sweating my ass off to make some money. It taught me about working hard for something that you want. That lesson early in life, helped me put myself through school twice, while also working a job as I went to school. My parents offered to help me, but I never felt that it was their responsibility, as so many kids expect that nowadays.
All of you that are "older", know where I'm coming from. I'm glad that I'm at least halfway through this ride we call life.
As my usual disclaimer, I'm not trying to offend anyone with this post. If you are offended, you've just reinforced what I have said.
