Alllright Kratomites - here's your long awaited Tutorial and Guide to the Freeze, Filter, Green Vitamin Alkaloid Smoothie method!

Tired of the ol' Toss & Wash? Or wondering just how to prepare and really potentiate your kratom? Or maybe you've heard all the FDA scare stories about kratom, how it's a raw bulk product that needs to be tested? Or maybe you'd just like more Bang for your Buck in that kratom dose... ALL these points will be covered here.

I've been freezing and filtering, boiling and brewing, my kratom for around a year now. I'll take you through it step by step WITH pictures! Freezing to get that Red Bubble everyone's talking about. Filtering out anything you don't want.. And what I've found at the bottom of my stainless steel Sludge Filter! And.. Option to steep your kratom powder, in HOT or boiling water, to completely sanitize the stuff.

So, I'm gonna post Chapters here, with pictures. Please ask any questions as we move along through the process! I'm hosting photos on Imgur with Albums. You can scroll through the many photo's on each subject.

Lesson #1: Freezing. Check out my photo album: Red Bubbles

We start by mixing and freezing our kratom powder. Freezing uses a basic process, Cell Lysis, A well known laboratory procedure. Amazing how the alkaloids in kratom are released through freezing, to form a Red Bubble. There is lots of additional information on Reddit, also. Search on "Red Bubble" there. Anyway we're freezing and thawing in water to obtain an alkaloid extract or lysate.

Yes.. water. Mainly it's the force of water, crushing your powder .. A small amount of citric acid is used, to help the powder break down and release those Mitragynine goodies.. I use pure Citric Acid powder, cheap on Amazon in bulk. Often you read about "Lemon Juice" or freezing in lemon juice, a paste with lemon juice, etc.. that's missing the point really. You definitely do not need, to buy a bunch of lemons and squeeze them! NO! For an average single dose of kratom, a half cup water is fine, plus a couple Tsp pure Lemon Juice and or around 160 mg Citric Acid.

More important is the container used, to freeze! You want a hard plastic or ceramic container. Could be a small coffee cup. Or could be a small hard plastic tumbler. Don't use glass, you don't need broken glass See the Red Bubble pics above, for examples I'm now using. I DID go through some trial and error! At first I thought great I'll use these Silicon Cube trays...

Well, the silicon trays made nice large cubes, but I noticed .. Not many red bubbles! What happened there, was the silicone is too soft. I was getting bubbles on the side and the bottom of each cube. We want to CRUSH that powder.. and force that alkaloid bubble to the top! Green kratom powder turns red when frozen!

I'll discuss in further detail, each of these items. There are variations and choices for each one. Hardware (3) items total around $24 for the Frother, Filter, and Freezer Jars. If you're going to be taking kratom daily, then it's an investment just like a drip coffee maker. Aside from the tools, you'll want to try some Vitamin supplements, and additives, in liquid or powder form.. I also use powder Vitamin C and that seems to be a nice basic add-on that has synergy with kratom. Anyway let's talk about these items in our Green Vitamin Kratom Alkaloid Smoothie Kit!

Let's talk Filters.

Pre processing, or straining, your kratom powder using some kind of Sludge Filter. WHY? Because we're consuming a raw, bulk, botanical product - powdered leaf - that could possibly contain small particles or foreign objects we don't wanna eat!!

Now... I'm NOT one of the paranoid rumor mongers, who were blasting Metal Bits In Kratom! - all over Facebook last year. NO. But I remember very well the details. A processing machine broke down and left broken spring parts and some metal shavings in a couple bags from RVA. Immediately someone goes on Reddit, and the story took off... I got the real stats from Jonathan. It was quite literally 1 in a million, a super isolated incident.

Yeah its possible. A Hair is possible. I've been filtering my daily kratom for over a year. I look inside my filter and only 1 time did it catch a hair. Only a handful of times, my filter has caught anything.. A few grains of rice maybe. The point IS... anything that's not super fine powder, any chunks or tiny rocks or anything... I don't wanna swallow.

Bottom Line: Use a stainless steel Tea Infuser ( photo ) with mesh size 0.005 = 120 micron. That's about right for catching any debris, while still allowing fine grain powder into your Tea. You don't want like a Hop Strainer used for beer, those are 300 micron. And you definitely don't want a cold brew Coffee Bag < 75 micron you'd be wasting > half your kratom. This is NOT like brewing coffee!

Pina Colada .. Bodytech liquid Protein .. Tropical Oasis Mega liquid vitamin .. Kroger 100% Lemon juice .. Yo BallzDeep9! How's it going man? I ran across this the other night and I can't get that pic of the redbubble in the yellow cup out if mind. I need that in my life! I can be kind of dense sometimes (besides the many other flaws) but for real though man, please give me a step by step on how you managed to get that beautiful example of a red bubble on the top of that cup. I would be extremely greatful! Btw, thanks for all the research and hard work you put into this site and others Involving your experience with kratom. is there another chapter you will be posting regarding ingredient quantities and such? just to help some of us get a general idea and can extrapolate to our own doses, etc.

i read your post on the thread "Re: Ned a cleaner delivery method", the part about skimming off the goodies.
since we're using the tea infuser anyways, we don't filter it anymore right? or do you let the particles collect on bottom of your glass and skim/siphon off the liquid above that sludge? i'm not clear on that step.

i've been freezing 15g of a strain with 12oz water + 3 tablespoons grapefruit juice or lemon juice in Balls 16oz freezer capable jars. that's about 3 doses at~5g each per .5 cup(4.0 oz) liquid. if you could post your measurements that would be great to compare. measurements i'm using are from ppl posting on reddit.

also, reading your post i see keeping some particles/alkaloids, versus filtering too much, like with coffee filters, is preferable. i've been wondering about that & now think i've been filtering too much and its time consuming too and missing out of some alkaloids. next batch i'll just pour the thawed batch through the tea infuser and drink a .5cup that and see how that goes.

That's it really. Personal preference on how clean or strong or thick, you want your Smoothie. I do like the Coffee analogy.. some people brew it dark, others light, aside from roasting .. There are various types of filters. Using a French Press makes a cup of dark coffee with sludge at the bottom.

Right now here's my method: I thaw my 8-oz Freezer Jar, and it separates while thawing. Pour off the beer colored watery alkaloids, into a big glass. Once I hit the sludge.. I grab the Tea Infuser/ Filter and pour the rest through that. The heaviest mud needs a water rinse, to clear the freezer jar. Wash that out.. Now I've got a half glass full of goodies, plus a bunch of sludge stuck in the filter - Here's where the Sludge Bucket comes in.

It's personal taste, how much MORE to rinse with water through the stainless steel Filter.. and either 1) Rinse into your glass, 2) Rinse into a separate 3rd glass a "Sludge Bucket", 3) Rinse down your drain & discard. - Those are the choices, I use the Sludge Bucket and re-freeze that with a bit of lemon juice. It's recycling some mud that does contain "some" alkaloids..

I don't wanna waste much kratom. Each day, I'm beating my Recycle Sludge with the power Frother.. adding lemon juice.. Re-freezing & pouring off the alkaloids.. beating and freezing again.. after several days, the mud at bottom is very very thick with NO taste. There's nothing left in that... Dig it out with a spoon and toss it... yuck!

About a month and a half ago I read all BD's tutorials and tips on freezing methods as well as this smoothie and it changed everything for me!!! This method has allowed me to use less leaf and get better effects on a much more consistent basis thankfully. I recommend it to anyone and everyone I know that uses kratom at all....def give it a shot well worth it and then some.

I'm glad this was bumped, too. I'll be doing an Amazon order soon. I might pick up the tea filter. I've been making my freezies with small round containers that I got at the Dollar store. I use either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. I'be been using the ACV lately because I read that it helps with high blood pressure. It doesn't taste as good as the lemon juice but I can get it down. I stop when I start hitting the dirt so I know I'm wasting kratom. Thanks, Ballz for giving me ideas for more options!

Some still ingest the powder like myself, some filter some out, some eliminate it completely this is really just another method or took to choose from and build off of is how I look at it. I personally use the freeze method almost every single dose now, still drink the powder, and get waaaaayyy better results with almost 3/4 my old mix and chug dosage.

wOw I guess its time for an update. Check out # Views on this Thread = 2680. Always lots of lurkers it's been linked on Facebook, I hope it's helped some folks.. Prep their kratom. Gotta prep your dose, the right way! Yeah it does make a difference.

I'd say a BIG discovery is = using Acetic Acid aka Apple Cider Vinegar, to prep your kratom. Get the Bragg's kind with "The Mother". Google that.. I'm not a chemist but something IS happening w/ ACV - For 1 thing I notice, it affects the sludge.. Seems to melt or liquefy the sludge. I def notice MORE passing through my Filter, compared to Citric.. And, bottom line, I'd swear it makes the dose stronger!!

Also gives the Bubble a more brownish, brick red color.. I call it the Bronze Bubble. I'm working on a Imgur page, both for tea and ACV bubble method. So.. after MONTHS of testing & comparing, I'm now using ACV almost exclusively!

Thanks for the update Ballz, I'll definitely have to pick some up as that's one thing I have not had a chance to try yet! I have used true lemon/lime/grapefruit packets, lemon juice, and now use powdered citric acid but have noticed that the citric doesn't consistently make a super nice red bubble. Idk maybe this is the final lil missing link I have needed so thanks againnn

Mr. BallZzz, could you please give us the ratio of ACV:H2O??? I tried using white vinegar a few years back in place of lemon juice and it was like drinking acid......even after it was diluted! Obviously, I don't recommend white vinegar for this process. The brew was very effective, but DAMN it was hell on the stomach! What's worse is, we had a bottle of Bragg's buried in the cupboard!

Side note: There's quite a lot of anecdotal evidence to suggest that a mixture of vinegar, water and honey contributes to all around health. That's an added benefit for using YOUR Bragg Vinegar method!

Sure. I put 5 grams kratom powder in a coffee cup. I pour 8 oz. (1 Cup ) of boiling water into cup and stir. I shake up the bottle of ACV (those Mother strands settle down in bottle.) And I measure out 1 Teaspoon of ACV and stir that into my hot water coffee cup. Cover, allow to "steep" and cool.

After 30 min look at your kratom coffee cup. ACV and hot water, has completely separated the alkaloids!! It's a beautiful golden reddish color! Now.. Final Step before freezing.. I take a very small, < 1/8 Tsp of Baking Soda and mix that in a little cold water. Add that to my coffee cup and stir vigorously.. I am neutralizing the Acetic Acid before freezing. I usually do TWO coffee cups/ doses, together, so the 1/8 Tsp is divided between the two 8-Oz cups.

You really don't need much baking soda. Plain ol' Arm & Hammer.. This creates a little foam, or suds, which can be removed or just ignored. IF left on top, the foam will freeze and may look weird. You often get a HUGE frozen brick-red bubble. Any foam on top, will freeze on top of the bubble.

Awesome, and another BIG THANKS to ya', Mr. BallZ. I'm actually excited about using your sweet technique (that's sayin' somethin' cuz I'm really not that excitable)....I've added the entire process to my file on kratom....really don't wanna lose track of such an impressive and valuable tutorial. Because their leaf is more expensive, I would recommend buying samples and testing them out yourself for your own chemistry. That's what my wife and I did. After we tested most of the samples, we placed an order for larger quantities. Mostly of their premium leaf. Which was more expensive. I ended up spending too much, tbh, but I got more of the following: Premium Bali, Premium White, Premium Red, Premium Green, and two non-premiums - Red Borneo and Bali 24. The Premium Bali was our favorite. Red Borneo was just as good as the rest though.

Okay, I definitely did it wrong. I strained out the powder and was left with a cup of yellowish liquid - didn’t taste or smell that strong - had a hint of acv. I threw a bunch of fruit into a blender and poured in the water and went to town. Ended up with like 20oz of foul tasting fruit smoothie. Tastes like kratom and vinegar and nothing else. It’s so vile. And there’s so much of it. My wife is laughing her ass off at me. She’s in tears rn. I asked her if she wanted to share it and she said she didn’t want kratom that bad. Also said I can’t just pour it out because I used expensive blueberries. So. Ow I’ve gotta drink this. I’m in hell.

Hey. I have confirmed after some study, you really need at least 8 hours or more, for a small 8-ounce Cup! Check it out. Look at your cup after 4 hours, its frozen but there is a little dark spot right in the middle where it's NOT completely frozen solid yet.. The red bubble HAS formed, maybe, but I believe its the final hours 8, 9, or more where it really freezes totally SOLID.. and The Bubble gets a little bigger!

That's a nice pic.. Your on your way!! I DO find the bubble SIZE and color, to be an indicator of kratom potency!! That's based on my observation over a year of doing this daily. Now... using ACV the bubbles are big and bronze. And I'm getting less sludge after thawing. Yes! The ACV seems to melt or liquefy some of that sandy mud... Here are two recent ones. On the left, ceramic Coffee Cup huge bronze bubble. On the right plastic Freezer Jar.
