Improving Burns
Just a friendly reminder, when all else fails aside from eating well (good quality proteins are important, I supplement a grass fed protein powder --> "Nor-Cal"), taking magnesium, drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep:
EXERCISE! Staying sedentary for too long makes the magic wear off. Pushing your body to the limits with a good workout, even if it's just playing sports for an hour or two, kicks your metabolism into gear and provides burns post workout like it's your first time again. Cheers.

That's the coolest thing about kratom. It FORCES you to take better care of yourself.

Exercise is definitely a potentiator. Taking it after a workout is chefs kiss.
I don’t think any of the normally recommended methods to potentiate like freezing have ever done much for me tbh.

I so love that about kratom too, you choose your own adventure a lot of times. If you wanna sit and enjoy, it's nice, but if you get up and start doing stuff....POW! Lasts for hours AND all of your shit gets done also.

The past couple months almost nothing has been hitting for me. I cut back my dose from 5-6 grams to now 3 grams over the course of a week and since then I feel better in general but the effects of kratom are now mild. I've been rotating batches often and switching vendors but can't really discern the differences between batches anymore, even by color. A brand new batch sometimes has different qualities I can notice but it's very subtle compared to the past.
These recent months also coincide with my taking a break from exercising and I started back up a couple weeks ago. I do a half hour of moderate intensity exercise on an elliptical plus I get some outdoor exercise when weather permits. Tonight I finally got a good burn for the first time in awhile. I didn't get immediate improvement when I resumed exercising so it may be that the benefits are more cumulative by consistently working out.
It might also just be that I needed a while to get used to a lower dose. I came to kratom from Suboxone so at first I was taking nearly 10 grams per dose. I cut back by a gram or a half gram at a time and still got good burns but this latest reduction was more sudden.
I kind of wish I had approached this more scientifically and only changed one variable at a time, but I really wanted to recapture the magic so I'm just tinkering with whatever I can think of: diet, exercise, new batches, rotations, blends, dose size/frequency. I'm finally seeing improvement so hopefully I can pinpoint what's making a difference

Even 3 grams is too much - I would DEFINITELY try a gram (or at the most 1.5 grams). Truly, less is more and the difference can be stunning.
(Also the usual suspects - make sure your bowels are open, empty stomach, getting exercise, taking with an acidic drink and mixing more batches together).

I'll plan on another sizeable reduction. For me cutting back (from over 3 grams - let's say 3.5) to 1-1.5 grams was an immediate improvement but there are so many other variables (like batch and physical condition) it's hard to get substantive facts. What I always recommend is to greatly reduce AND reduce your expectations. Sometimes we just expect too much and then become disappointed. When I cut back I truly think it's best to think of it as almost the same as going cold turkey (except that you are not doing so). If it works for you then you'll be pleasantly surprised, but if it doesn't no harm no foul.
And I do think there is great benefit in varying your doses. I routinely go down to 1 gram and then slowly bounce back up to just under 3 grams and start the process all over again and this seems to keep everything working. But as always with kratom you have to find what works for your own situation. The only thing I'm sure of is that routinely taking more than 3 grams is just counter-productive.

Lowering dose, does have effect of lower Tolerance as body adjusts to new lower GPD... Takes a few days.
