I was looking for a new vendor to try out & read some interesting reviews on another forum, so I gave them a try.

- Maha Kali Red Vein: very pricey stuff & only sold in 250g bags. Supposed to be powerful from what I read. I was surprised at the "feel" of this. If you've ever chewed fresh kratom leaves, this is very similar in effect only much stronger. It's very, very, very stimulating. Some folks like that. Not me. I started sweating profusely & wishing I had an antidote. I purposely only used a 1g dose, too! I repeated the dose the next day & got the same result. No euphoria, no pain relief, no calming, no pleasant feelings of any kind. Well, these things happen. Onward to the next test.

- Red Vein Borneo: my readings said this was a calming strain. Actually it was the opposite. It was exactly like the Maha Kali Red Vein only not quite as strong. I'd rate it same as the Maha.

- Red Maeng Da: I was expecting something strong & it was. I couldn't tell any difference from the Maha. Rated the same.

I've never bought 3 strains from a vendor that were all exactly the same with the same overpowering stimilating effects. Not my bag, but I have no doubts they have many fans. I was disappointed, to be sure, but this is a fact of life in kratom world.

I haven’t tried them yet, but I’ve only heard good things about Maha Kali. I mainly got it for the pain relieving effects. I was able to get a 100g bag though and it was 25 which is a few dollars more than my fav vendor’s 100-125mg bags. After seeing this post, I will take only a tiny bit lol.

Something told me not to pull the trigger with this vendor. I love vendors that take updated pictures of their leaf, instead of using the same exact pics for multiple varieties and batches. Mitraman is always quality but I'm not sure why he doesn't do this. I know it's extra work, and even more so with vendors that turn over multiple batches a week, but hats off to DTE for almost always providing new pics of the batches.

I haven't bought anything since they were Herbal Salvation, but when they were that, they were my go-to. They had COD, which was perfect for me because I didn't (and still don't) have a credit card. I believe they still do that, but don't quote me on that.

I might try the Maha Kali one of these days, it used to be smokin' though. The one thing I don't like (but I respect the motive of consistency) is the addition of extract to bring up the mit percent.

I tried some Viable a while back and it was pretty bland and average. Definitely didn’t blow my socks off. But wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had. This was probably about 2 years ago though so not sure how valuable my input is lol. There are certainly other small batch vendors with better quality imho.

And I don't know why the first post said it only comes in 250g - I always buy 100g, and it's also available in 25g and 250g.

Hi, I did. It is good for pain but has no bells and whistles. I think that when a strain doesn’t provide euphoria/energy/sedation/mood lift, a lot of people are unimpressed. I primarily take kratom for pain so it was good to me (although I do like the extras lol). I don’t regret buying it and with try mixing it next time

Well, kratom is one strange leaf, as we all know! I'm glad it helps with your pain, at least - that's the main reason I started using kratom 3+ years ago (osteoarthritis), but I do love the bells and whistles that we sometimes get too
For some reason, Viable's Maha Kali gives me quite a bit of those too!

Have you had a chance to try TFH's Crown Jewel Sempur yet? For several of us it was kind of "TFH Average Good" the first time, but then it gets better with every burn! My third try a week or so ago was absolutely awesome, including great pain relief PLUS all the bells and whistles!

Well, kratom is one strange leaf, as we all know! I'm glad it helps with your pain, at least - that's the main reason I started using kratom 3+ years ago (osteoarthritis), but I do love the bells and whistles that we sometimes get too

Have you had a chance to try TFH's Crown Jewel Sempur yet? For several of us it was kind of "TFH Average Good" the first time, but then it gets better with every burn! My third try a week or so ago was absolutely awesome, including great pain relief PLUS all the bells and whistles!

Kratom is indeed a fickle leaf! I’m glad the Maha Kali gives you pain relief and the bells and whistles! I have tried the Crown Jewel and it’s a particularly unique batch. It didn’t do *anything* for me the first time- third time was amazing! Looking forward to the fourth burn. Definitely getting more, especially because I only got 100g.

Yeah, I shoulda proofread my post before sending. What I meant to say was the largest bag was 250g. My bad. I've been around kratom long enough to understand that it affects everyone differently. I've bought kratom that I hated, stashed away, tried 4 years later & liked it. All 3 of these strains made me feel really bad. I had my son try them & he said he didn't get any effects from them at all, but they didn't give him any negative feelings either.

You mentioned pain relief with the Maha. I wish! Pain relief is why I started kratom in the first place. I'm in my 70s & have chronic pain from being a trades worker my whole life. My doctor had me on dilaudid every day & vicodin before that. 6 years of that & I hated it. Told my doc I wasn't going to take that anymore. Looked for something else, found kratom, & I can function again.

Sorry.... when you get old, your mind wanders. So I'll add these to my collection & try them again in a couple months.

I have had exactly the same experience with crown jewel: the first two times didn't hit and the third time was golden.
