I went to your website because I’ve recently been getting into kava, I added 1/2lb to cart before realizing the price. Is there a reason your kava is 2 times the price of most trusted vendors? I’m just curious, I order from N@H, Gourmet Hawaiian and KWK a lot and all of theirs are around $30 for half lb where yours is $60. I don’t mind paying a premium for a premium product but wanted to get some more info before I did

Hi Tcoppedge! Thank you for taking the time to look at our website and for your question. Shopping with us vs shopping with the many of the biggest sites on the web is like the difference between supporting a local store vs shopping at Wal-Mart. For our 6 years in the industry, we've been a small batch operation focusing on quality product and service over quantity. A lot of the big name brands are incredibly wealthy and can offer discounted rates for the volume they're importing. We're usually importing only 50-100 kilos of kava at a time from a small, family-operated farm in Fiji. My intention is always to offer the best teas at the lowest prices but need support to help get us there as we continue to grow. In the meantime, unlike a lot of companies out there, with Southeast Botanicals you can always reach out directly to me the owner every day to work with you directly. Southeast Botanicals also started America's first kava and kratom festival in Florida in 2018 and have been interviewed on local news and magazines promoting the positive benefits of these wonderful plants. In short, choosing to do business with us helps us spread the good word in our continued fight for spreading the truth about kava and kratom.

Hope this helps and if you need anything please feel free to reach me either here or via email at [email protected]

Is this still going on? When and where does it happen next?

I live in central Florida but wouldn't mind driving for a kratom festival (as long as it's not TOO far).

Hi Kelleytoons! It's up in the air as of now.

I called it The Kommunity Rise Up (K in Kommunity for kava and kratom) and it was held in Saint Petersburg, Florida at Jannus Live in 2018. We had 15 kava bars from all across Florida set up booths to vend kava and kratom, musical acts, guest speakers, all with the intention of teaching our guests about the positive effects of these botanicals. We had 650 people show up and it was really a special day. I don't believe anyone had ever done anything like it in America previously.

I did it again in 2019 in Tampa, Florida at Sweetwater Organic Community Farm. Again 15 kava bars but this time maybe 350 people throughout the day.

I had planned to do it a third time in Tampa in 2020 but Covid 19 had other plans, and unfortunately I haven't been able to organize another one in the time since as the economy has made running my small business incredibly difficult.

Hoping I can get some support from Double M Herbals guests as I'm really passionate about this industry, I'm good at sourcing and importing product, and I believe I'm easy to work with! :)
