Yesterday in the Aeropress tea making thread, Ballz made a fascinating observation. Here's a quote by Ballz from that thread
"That's IT!! Amazing difference in how easily the Aeropress works. and PROOF - that Freezing does change the plant structure/ break down cells/ to release alkaloids !! "
I was piqued and put my morning dose in the freezer, defrosted it this morning, and tossed and washed a couple of hours later. Maybe if freezing breaks down cell walls, it should make all methods of dosing more effective. Anyway, I don't have an Aeropress or like drinking anything but tea that's actually TEA.
So far my morning dose is falling flat. I almost expected that as I took a batch that hadn't been particularly effective for me in the past.
I will continue to experiment and hope that if others do, they will add to this thread.
Best wishes to all!
If I understand you correctly, you put a powder in the freezer and then defrosted it, correct?
We would not expect this to do anything - IF the freezing/defrosting thing works (and I'm not saying it does) it would be the action of the water on the plant cell walls that causes the breakdown. Just freezing the powder and unfreezing it wouldn't do anything. IOW, you need a medium to act as the "grinder".
But I would love folks to report more about their tea making experiences to confirm/deny this. Note that this has LONG been a popular method to breakdown cannabis (making extracts they ALWAYS recommend you freeze the liquid mixture first and then do what you will with it. I still haven't seen any science to support this working, but it's certainly folklore).
The other thing you might try is to add (or use) citric acid. This is also something from the cannabis world but I've seen a number of folks here say it helps with the breakdown and, in point of fact, I always take my capsules with Propel (the leading ingredient, aside from water, is citric acid). The theory would be that the acid removes more of the good stuff and in this particular case is supported by science (there is at least one scientific study that showed about 10% more active ingredients could be removed by a acidic PH). Lemon juice could also be used (you don't need a lot to raise the PH of any liquid).
So...froze my dose in 1-2 ounces of water for about 5 hours. Defrosted by pouring a bit of hot water on top, stirring and drinking down. Quick onset (about 25 minutes) and this is one excellent burn. The great burn could just be coincidental but the quick onset? I doubt it. I am one happy camper who will, in short order, be prepping and freezing tomorrow's doses.
To be continued.

Hey there, boureka, welcome to the Red Bubble team! ~ you can even Google this: "Red Bubble Kratom" and get a bunch of images.
Based on a legit science methodology called: Cell Lysis ... it's a method used in chemistry labs. There is a Wikipedia page: "Cell Lysis is used in laboratories to break open cells and purify or further study their contents." ... Mitragynine and other Kratom plant alkaloids, are stored inside cells. / https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysis
I would say... Don't expect, like night and day ? It DOES make your liquid kratom more bioavailable. It does NOT totally change things, but every little bit helps!
Banned on Reddit: KratomVendors is now on SAIDIT!
Please check out my current Auctions/ Sales on MM Trading Post! I'm also on MeWe/ Saidit/ Reddit. Thanks!

Wow..color me astounded..thinking I'd discovered something when all I was doing was making a rudimentary (and incompetent) version of red bubble. Next week I'll post a thread on my latest invention, The Wheel!!
So far, it's working rather nicely and I've yet to make it with hot water. Tomorrow's"tea" will be made with lemon juice and HOT water which will perhaps be even better.
The only drawback is I LIKE my toss and wash ritual. But hey, I'll shake off the loss for a better kràtom experience.
