sorry if this is easy, and i missed it....

is it possible to receive email notifications of responses, and private messages (haven't gotten one yet, so maybe that is implemented).

Yes there is a user control panel where you can change all your personalized settings and even get notifications via email if you want.

Click the user icon in the top right of the site (it’s in the same location for both desktop and mobile versions) and then select ‘user control panel’ from the drop-down. You’ll find a bunch of settings there.
