DTE Christmas Kali

So I almost hate to review things which aren't available anymore, but perhaps some will show up on the Trading Post. In any case, took some DTE Christmas Kali a few hours ago and it's VERY nice. Exactly the effect I look for in a nighttime red.

I'm really happy with this purchase - tomorrow I'll make up the green I got from DTE that everyone was talking about, but I will try and keep my expectations reasonable because after this I'm really hopeful.

Yep, not a single disappointment with DTE, and I've tried several! Premium Red Bali this morning, in fact.

His website says they're off through January 1, as well as being out of stock anyway, but I suspect he'll have more coming soon.

Glad you like it, think he is trying to get some more Christmas Kali so it might not be gone forever. Totally agree that DTE has some top shelf leaf!

It's the 30 year Green Bakar.

I made it into capsules yesterday and I'm taking some for my tennis morning today (as a rule I normally take a white but I really want to try this one out so we'll see. Plus, the way my knee is going I'm not so sure I'll play well anyway. My replacement can't come soon enough).

It's also one I bought 500 grams of (and only made 250 into capsules - so I have 250 grams in sealed bags left. Might go on TP at some point unless this is the greatest stuff ever :>).

The other one I have from DTE is Premium Red Bali, which I'll make into capsules tomorrow (and try that night).

Ill take that Christmas kali off your hands if you want to sell. I couldnt jump on that one fast enough, sold out before I could get any.

It's a definite possibility - I need to thoroughly test it first.

Today I took the Bakar and wasn't all the impressed but I need to try it again (perhaps under less trying circumstances - my knee is just about shot and almost nothing helps with the pain. I've just got to get my pre-op done to have the surgery approved).

a circle of my dad's friends had their knees replaced and recommend doing them both at the same time; singly the memory of the pain discourages one to get the second.

Well, at the time I got my left knee replaced my right was just fine (and both me and my ortho thought for sure it wouldn't need replacement).

And most likely insurance would NOT have paid for it anyway - like I said, perfectly good knee. But the good news is that it will be a partial (compared to the full replacement of my left) so at least I get to keep my tendons and such and he said it will likely feel even better than my left (no pain in my left, but it does feel rather "dead", if you get my drift).

We all have our crosses to bear, and at least mine can be fixed. So I try not to complain TOO much. I just kinda hate surgery and all that (recovery I can deal with - the first two weeks are the worse, and you can bet I'll be hitting our favorite powder as hard as possible during that time. In the run up I'll try and take as much as a month off but we'll see when I'm scheduled).

My mom has a neighbor who needs one and isn't doing it exactly for that reason.

Really? The pain of the recovery process? Yes, the first two weeks are painful, but if you have knee issues that require a knee replacement the recovery is NOTHING compared to living with the pain 24/7.

Honestly, like women forget the pain of childbirth (or our race would have died out eons ago), you forget what it felt like during that time. And, truthfully, you can live through almost any thing when you know it will end. The great thing about the replacement surgery is that you feel better every single day and after a couple of weeks you can actually walk correctly for the first time in a long time. And after a month it doesn't hurt nearly as much as it did before the surgery.

I sort of enjoyed the physical therapy part of the recovery process, but I also did a lot of weight lifting during my younger days so "no pain, no gain". I was proud of how well and how quickly I was able to get back to full functionality (MUCH faster than most of the other patients I was with).

But - everyone is different. The pain of recovery doesn't worry me half as much as just going under the knife (being knocked out). THAT is worrisome. The rest is just part of life. But I would say that if your friend is more concerned about the pain after the surgery than he is about the pain he's experiencing now, then he isn't someone who needs the surgery (trust me - you'll KNOW when you need it).

I should also say I would NOT recommend doing both at the same time if you can avoid it - when one of your legs is out of commission you use the other quite a bit to help. In my "class" (you get together with 30 or so folks undergoing the process and kind of work through it with them) there were two who were doing both knees and they had a TERRIBLE time during recovery. They were literally in wheelchairs when the rest of us were walking - just imagine having one good leg and then having NO good legs and you can get the idea. Those folks doing both had to have home health care for weeks just to get in and out of bed (I could do it myself after one day, although my wife helped the first day).

So, no, I would NOT recommend doing both at the same time, not if you can avoid it (some folks just can't).

Give it a few more tries before giving up. I know a few people that the Bakar took 2-3 burns before hitting. Hopefully all goes smoothly with your surgery!

Yeah, I'll definitely try it a few more times, for sure - I also find that with TFH (hell, it might just be a general observation. If I was in a position to keep more detailed notes I could find out, but I could only do that when I had, like, 12 or so batches. Now with mine in the hundreds there's no freaking way I can manage that short of an inch thick journal :>).

And, thanks - I haven't got a date yet but this week I'm going for the pre-op exam so I can get scheduled. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to... well, not the surgery, but the afterwards <g>.

So I purchased some California Kali from DTE round Christmas time … And I got one word about it … In my top 3 favorites ( I meant 5 words ) !! Seriously, for me anyhowz, this is a great burn an lasted 5-6 hours !! I seen tonight that they have some more in stock an I definitely plan on purchasing some more.

Hey Kelleytoons! I cant find my other post to comment back to you..so I will do this one Sorry, covid hit my house and just now getting to feeling better! I was MIA. lol. Anyways...I'm so glad you are liking the Christmas Kali!!! Its such a great work strain for me! Glad he has more now! Hope you are doing well

Yeah, it's good - I'm just sorry the Green Bakar that everyone raved about didn't hit me - but I will try it again sometime.

Sorry about your illness but hopefully everyone is doing better. Remember to take plenty of Zinc with Quercetin (Zinc is the bullet and Quercetin is the gun which delivers it). Should make everyone feel better quickly and is a GREAT deterrent.
