Europe Travel and Kratom
Has anyone had any experience traveling with kratom through countries in Europe where kratom is banned? I know overall, cops in the US don't really care about it, and don't even bother looking for it where it's banned.
Most people have never even heard of it, and I doubt anyone would even look twice at a few ounces of something that looks like matcha (especially if it's in a matcha bag). There are countries I obviously wouldn't even consider going to with it, like Turkey or Poland, because of their draconian drug laws, but places like Italy I could see them not even noticing it.
Any first or second hand stories or articles regarding this?

Re: Europe Travel and Kratom
First of all, I want to advise you against knowingly traveling with kratom to countries where it is explicitly banned.
You do not want to end up in prison abroad.
Or at the very least, you don't want to have your stuff seized.
There are many lists online about countries where kratom is banned. I have yet to find an exhaustive list, and I would be very careful to fact check this info before I went anywhere with kratom. By my count there are 7 countries in Europe where kratom is "controlled", 20 where it is outright illegal, 14 where it is legal, and 9 where there is no data (not explicitly legal or illegal).
I will say that I travel a lot within the United States and have previously carried raw kratom powder with me by the kilo and nobody has ever given me even the slightest bit of trouble. Frankly, I've been amazed at how little they've cared... That's in the US though.
Outside the US, if you were traveling to a country where kratom is LEGAL, I would still recommend capping your kratom as it would probably look a little more suspicious if you brought in raw powder.
Toss and wash is kind of a pain in the ass on the go anyway. But even if you wanted to remove the caps after you got there, I would bet that customs would be far more accepting of a supplement inside capsules than a supplement in raw powder form.
Again, this is just my opinion for traveling to countries where kratom is legal.
I'd be very curious to hear from the rest of everybody's experiences traveling internationally as well.

Re: Europe Travel and Kratom
Let's keep this thread about travel in Europe, and not veer into how to smuggle or disguise kratom. That being said, I looked into this and compiled a list based on the information I could find online. This is just what I could find, always double check the info independently.

Weird, how are you supposed to use it if you can't buy it or sell it? Travel out of the country to purchase it and then bring it home I guess is ok? It is also illegal in Australia.

I know its not Europe but what about the legal status in Mexico? Flying to Cancun and Cozumel in January. Would you take a 250g to Cancun? In checked or carry on? Thank you!

Hi guys, i am from Germany, Europe and i can confirm it's legal here.
Anyway, kratom is so unknown to authorities that they won't be amused at first when they would find a bag/ zipper with brown powder and maybe even a scale.
Same for travel via airport, although it is legal i would recommend to put it in capsules or even repack it before having a serious Discussions about somehow prooving to them that you are not handling anything illegal.
