Kratom Journal

Post by LuLu »

Hi everyone!
I’m new Kratom by only a couple months. I decided that I want to keep a journal of the strains and what they do for me along with the vendors I try.

How do you suggest I go about setting it up? I want it to be organized so I can find what I need but I am honestly the most unorganized person in existence.

Has anyone else done something like this that can give me some pointers, please.

Thanks!

Welcome, LuLu!

Seems like the first question would be whether you're more comfortable with an old-school handwritten log, or a digital one. If you'd rather keep it on your computer, Excel or another spreadsheet program would work perfectly. In fact, someone created an Excel template for just that, and if I can find the link I'll give it to you.

But I'm old school, so for myself I got one of those mini $2 spiral notebooks at Staples and divided it in half -- one part for day strains, one part for night strains -- and use that.

Funny thing is that I'm crap at writing anything down or even remembering to, EXCEPT that I cannot stand unlabeled jars in the fridge, so I finally settled on using the masking tape labels I was putting on my kratom dose jars anyway and sticking those in the notebook. I do that for the blends I make, and single strain info I write on the kratom bag itself. It's convoluted, but it works for me. I don't have to remember to write anything down, and I can't forget about the label anyway because at some point I have to wash the lid it's on.

For myself, I'm not so much interested in a historical record of what I took and when, but rather a record of what blends worked for me and at what dosage. I don't recommend trying to do it alphabetically if you're going handwritten, and I -always- include the vendor name anyway because to me it's part of the strain name. I use abbreviations because I know what they mean, but if you're new to kratom you'll probably want to write it out. So an entry for me might say something like:

KOG Prem Gold MD/RVA Yellow MD 2:1 3g Nite

which translates to "K-OG Premium Gold Maeng Da blended with Herbal RVA Yellow Maeng Da in a 2:1 ratio, 3 gram dose, night use."

I'm sure a digital log would be better, but I'd never remember to use it so for me it's pointless.

Hope this helps -- I'll see if I can find that link for you.

EDITED TO ADD: The Kratom Tracker spreadsheet I have appears to be from a site that is no longer valid -- freekratom.net -- but whoever created it put a LOT of work into it, and I wish I could give attribution where it is due because it's well done and thorough. In the meantime, I uploaded it to Google Drive for anyone that wants it:
