AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DOUBLEM COMMUNITY

DoubleM Community:
First of all, we love every one of you. Your support has enabled us to provide for our family, and more importantly, provide high quality Kratom to our community. Please take the time to read this and think about one of the issues Kratom vendors face on a daily basis.
I have been needing to post this for a while. I know there are alot of new members here, as well as people new to Kratom in general. As a rule, please DO NOT ask your vendors about Kratom and health effects. Specifically, don't ask for recommendations for Kratom for pain relief, anxiety, depression, and opiate withdrawal mitigation, etc. We have had FOUR people contact us within a 20 minute timeframe today asking for recommendations for those specific ailments. This was very odd to me. Kratom is an HERBAL SUPPLEMENT, and it needs to be treated as one.
The FDA HATES Kratom and loves to send out warning letters to vendors / businesses who promote Kratom for medicinal purposes:
https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-a ... ted-opioid
WHY YOU SHOULDN'T ASK VENDORS ABOUT EUPHORIA:
When describing kratom as euphoric, vendors violate the FDA guidelines for the supplement industry by comparing kratom to a street drug, or street drug alternative. Please read this publication by the US Food and Drug Administration for more information:
https://www.fda.gov/media/71027/download
Specifically regarding Policy, "FDA considers any product that is promoted as a street drug alternative to be an
unapproved new drug and a misbranded drug in violation of sections 505 and 502 of the
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Such violations may result in regulatory action,
including seizure and injunction."
The best we can do is encourage people to leave us reviews, and then, of course, state that those are not our statements. It may sound like an innocent question to you, but the FDA DOES monitor social media, online conversations, and absolutely websites like these. Some vendors are backpackers, working alone, and mostly out of sight. Others are like us, and, have a more modest online presence. We rely on this business to support our family. Neither should have to suffer financial loss to appease a customer's request for medical advice.
I encourage the community to chime in on this and share your facts and opinions. With the coronavirus vaccine being made available, my opinion is that the FDA will be switching gears on Kratom this year. Please be educated and informed about what you can and cannot talk about with your vendors. I for one will not be losing my business in 2021 for giving a seemingly harmless recommendation for medicinal use.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT US (VENDORS) AT RISK BY ASKING THESE QUESTIONS.
Respectfully,
Ben at Lucky Herbals
