UPDATE*Sittin' back ready to burn and watch this documentary
Hope it is good enough to be able to show my husband. Still trying to figure out how to tell him. It's been about 5 months. The stigma is alive, and I'm feeding it every day I don't tell him.

Re: Sittin' back ready to burn and watch this documentary
Nice, I've been meaning to watch this! Let me know how it is. I might rent it on amazon next weekend. I've been holding off as I was really hoping it would come to Netflix, but I don't think I can wait to watch it any longer lol.
Also, I hope you don't mind, I slightly edited the img tag in your post so the picture displays. Those img tags can be tricky and very picky. I'm going to have to write up a quick guide on using the img tags since it's a question I get frequently.

I liked most of it but I'm still salty about Urban Ice and his comments about the Reddit vendors.

Oh my goodness, thank-you! I did it on my phone and I just assumed it wasn't refreshing with the correct preview. I appreciate that, thank-you!e_poison wrote:Nice, I've been meaning to watch this! SO the doc is pretty good! I watched it twice, it covers a good deal of science, while covering real life people's experiences equally, and in interviewing people for the doc, Chris Bell does a magnificent job of being neutral with all parties, even the crazy mayor lady that demonizes kratom and makes you want to throat punch her. It was pretty well made, it is a great way to introduce people to kratom!

So I actually had it bookmarked on my Prime account for about a month now. I was going through the entire doc you guys compiled, (which, bravo, kudos, thank-you, bow down) and it reminded me to go watch it, so I went from your comment there to Prime to watch it. I dig dig it, and I understand their biased lean and the reasoning behind it toward Urban Ice, I was not swayed to try it, but I appreciated the guy's outlook on the regulation, and I actually agree with him completely.whiffypants wrote:Heh, yeah. Understood, but he's half right. A lot of those vendors are garbage, and have no business getting our money and selling products to people who put it in their body. I've had more bunk shit from Reddit vendors than anywhere else. But I get that the shoutout was not helpful to legit vendors. I hear DAT!herbalhippie wrote:I liked most of it but I'm still salty about Urban Ice and his comments about the Reddit vendors.

NICE How did they respond to it? Did they know you use it before you showed it to them? Did they have questions? Would either of them have any use for it? Oh tell me they tried it next!livi2fly wrote:Great movie! I showed my grandparents.

Re: Sittin' back ready to burn and watch this documentary
UPDATE!
I told the husband tonight during dinner about my kratom use. I was nervous! Anyway he nodded, and was very calm about it, chewed his dinner and listened to me ramble nervously about its affects and the stigma and the pain relief I get, almost like not as interested as I thought someone would be in that situation. I told him about "Leaf of Faith" and what it was about and that I'd like him to check it out later. He had just got off 12 straight days of 12 hour shifts (VACATION TIME!) and was so tired the poor guy nodded off a quarter of the way through it. He told me it was really interesting and he really wants to watch it but he couldn't stay awake.
BUT he isn't freaked out by kratom or my using it! (We are both in long term recovery) That stigma that I continued to feed every day by not telling him is down one less person today! He has ZERO issues with me using it for my chronic pain, was actually not all that concerned with it even a little now that I think about it. He's literally the most understanding and laid back guy I've ever met, and I shouldn't be surprised as to his reaction, but I was worried.
Anyway, WIN FOR KRATOM! Thanks guys.

Great news. He sounds like a keeper.
Glad you got it out in the open. Secrets can be toxic to a relationship. Even innocent ones.

They were aware I used it, but they see all the negative things on the news so this kind of changed their views on it. They would both benefit from it but they're on so many medications I wouldn't feel right giving it to them. But they are very accepting and supportive of it now.baglicker wrote:NICE How did they respond to it? Did they know you use it before you showed it to them? Did they have questions? What, it's on Prime? If so, excellent -- means I don't have to pay to see it!baglicker wrote:So I actually had it bookmarked on my Prime account for about a month now.
And incidentally, congratulations and best wishes to you and your husband both on your recovery. WELL DONE on keeping it as honest and open as you can.
Indeed, and well said. On -both- counts.Blends wrote:Great news. He sounds like a keeper.

Hello,
Noob here... can you guys please tell me, is this a doc about kratom? I assume it is? I have amazon prime, but when I type in 'leap of faith' I get all of these other movies, religious. Can someone please pm me more info? Thank you!

It is indeed a documentary about kratom, but it's called "Leaf of Faith" which is why you were getting all the spiritual sunshine from your search.
It's on Amazon but not on Prime, from what I can see -- rent $4.99, buy $10.99:
