The Truth about "strain" Colors and Indo drying process.

Post by BallzDeep9 »

Topic for Discussion - What makes Red, Green, White, "strains", are they different colored leaves? Are different colors separated at harvest?

Answer: NO, and NO... It's all the same stuff, 90% of Indonesian kratom leaves are Red Vein, and different leaves are not separated anyway.. The few green leaves are picked and mixed in with reds. All leaves are picked from the tree, go into the same pile. No such thing as "strains", and vein colors, that's all fake marketing stuff.

Colors are produced by the Indo's using a drying process, and blending, to make Red, Green, White, products.. There is no such thing as "white vein" leaves. A few "horned" leaves are rare, and those get mixed in with everything else anyway :)

This Information was revealed on Reddit, by an Indonesian in a recent series of Question/ Answers LINK

If it's all the same big pile of leaves and the drying process is what creates colors, do the drying processes have any bearing on the effects the kratom produces in the user?
I'm curious about this because so many people have a very strong preference for certain colors. For example, some people claim that only reds help with their pain or only whites give them energy etc.

OK here's another BIG, long, novel on Reddit for anyone who wants some Good Info. Read and Learn!

Kratom Strain and Color Education: <-- that's a Link. you Click on it. :D

QUOTE: BadgerSilver - I estimate that ~98% of kratom comes from Borneo and ~2% comes from Sumatra. Regardless of that exact ratio, practically 100% comes from these two Indonesian Islands. There have been very very small amounts of Javanese and Thai kratom exported to the US, but they are negligible ... I have yet to get ahold of a single gram of true Thai. Emphatically, Borneo has the best kratom on earth. The kratom forests are vast and healthy, the leaves get as bigger than a baby. What about vein colors? ~99.99% of kratom is red-veined. Grind up a red-veined leaf and it will end up matcha-green, not red or tan. The end color of kratom comes from the drying and oxidation process.

Badger is the proprietor of Acadica, a U.S. Vendor based in Utah, (Yes, we can talk about vendors Here on MM!), he's also a decent guy who knows a lot about the Leaf... maybe he'll stop by MM to pontificate a bit. Since he's actually been to Pontianak, Borneo, and I have seen his photos .. My question for Badger is, why were the batches he sold following his trip, so average in quality.. compared to some of his outstanding Leaf in 2017?

What does that say, about the ability of vendors OR Indo suppliers to select strong, potent kratom... Is quality just random then? Was that a seasonal thing? Then, how is it that a few boutique vendors seem to consistently stock high quality kratom. And knowing many good Indo's.. What would happen if you advertised a Reward $ for the strongest powder?

Totally. There is no Cambodian, Vietnamese, Sulawasi, Papua, Thai or Indian. Almost all kratom comes from Borneo & Sumatra. Some kratom from malaysia is sent out, but not much, it's mostly from Indonesia. And these guys aren't growing phenotypes from these areas either, that is BS. But the "color" of kratom is determined by the drying process.

ahh you beat me 2 it! Yes I believe Badger wrote this on Reddit, maybe 5 months ago, around the same time K-OG was getting his 1st load of real Thailand. The laws did change, as reported in Forbes article - K-OG jumped on it right away. 8-)

Alkaloid profile of any botanical, including Kratom, depends mostly on the soil in which it is grown and the fertilizers used (none in kratom, too expensive). Most of farmed Kratom comes from large farms which have been constantly farming the soil for generations, depleting it of nutrients, hence the quality variation from farmer to farmer.....
