HI,
I am moving to Thailand with my partner and having a helluva time figuring out how much kratom we can bring into Thailand for personal use. We're not trying to import large amounts but we've both been using kratom for about a decade and will not make a 20+ flight without and then do not want to have Wds enroute or when were arriving. 100g-250g etc... We will find it when we get there and until today only found people saying that powdered was illegal but not chewing leaves or brewed tea but found some lawfirm documents saying that it was not. Or we need to know whether its considered a food or tea or supplement. Its not clear and I think it may be all 3. We translated some Thai documents but nothing so far, mostly finding legal proceedings on how to sell or import with a license. and that there is an exception for bringing in and out of the country for personal use.
The last thing I want to do is fly into Thailand where I am going to live and deal with bringing too much or not enough so that I can easily find some. Which from what I read and see is mostly brewed tea or fresh leaves. I dont even know how much I would need to equal the 3g I take every 4 hours. It works amazingly with zero sides for me and actually many pluses but, taking it so regularly means I am physiologically and psychologically "needing it". Something I plan on working on when there, hopefully after having surgery and not working 16 hours a day.
We have retired and honestly probably would have not been able to do so without kratom. We both havent touched a drop of alcohol or any other substances in almost the whole time we've had kratom.
Once I went to Taiwan (when it was still not illegal) without kratom because I couldnt find info and thought it was illegal and it was rough. I have severe ptsd (I think most of us do), bulging discs and huge growth right on top of my sciatic nerve on my calf. I have near constant pain. If you mess with your sciatic nerve, it can shoot up and down your leg, my foot gets pulses that feel like fire and electricity that cause me to scream out like I have tourettes sometimes. It seems like its very psychological also as I have been highly stressed for pretty much ever. I had the lump looked at when I had healthcare many years ago and its not cancer, its just tissue. If it even gets bumps lightly, its excruciating. Ive whacked it with a hose or dogs tail and it drops me. Anyway, part of my plan is to get it removed in Thailand and a bunch of other medical stuff that I wouldnt pay for nor trust in the US.
I feel like its one of the healthiest plants in existence (that we know about anyway), far surpassing marijuana and can be a modulator, Almost something to take the sharp edges of what our lives actually are, allowing us to not break. We got sick, probably with covid 1 time only without being "vaccinated". We were in LA when we saw it was happening in Asia and got pretty sick when we returned home for a few days and that was it. Our neighbors still seem to be sick every few months. Thats no joke, my immediate few neighbors sound like theyre going to cough to death every few months. Especially in the seasons when windows are open. And I hear from others about family members being wrecked by it.
