Anyone know how much Kratom you can bring into Thailand for personal use

HI,

I am moving to Thailand with my partner and having a helluva time figuring out how much kratom we can bring into Thailand for personal use. We're not trying to import large amounts but we've both been using kratom for about a decade and will not make a 20+ flight without and then do not want to have Wds enroute or when were arriving. 100g-250g etc... We will find it when we get there and until today only found people saying that powdered was illegal but not chewing leaves or brewed tea but found some lawfirm documents saying that it was not. Or we need to know whether its considered a food or tea or supplement. Its not clear and I think it may be all 3. We translated some Thai documents but nothing so far, mostly finding legal proceedings on how to sell or import with a license. and that there is an exception for bringing in and out of the country for personal use.

The last thing I want to do is fly into Thailand where I am going to live and deal with bringing too much or not enough so that I can easily find some. Which from what I read and see is mostly brewed tea or fresh leaves. I dont even know how much I would need to equal the 3g I take every 4 hours. It works amazingly with zero sides for me and actually many pluses but, taking it so regularly means I am physiologically and psychologically "needing it". Something I plan on working on when there, hopefully after having surgery and not working 16 hours a day.

We have retired and honestly probably would have not been able to do so without kratom. We both havent touched a drop of alcohol or any other substances in almost the whole time we've had kratom.

Once I went to Taiwan (when it was still not illegal) without kratom because I couldnt find info and thought it was illegal and it was rough. I have severe ptsd (I think most of us do), bulging discs and huge growth right on top of my sciatic nerve on my calf. I have near constant pain. If you mess with your sciatic nerve, it can shoot up and down your leg, my foot gets pulses that feel like fire and electricity that cause me to scream out like I have tourettes sometimes. It seems like its very psychological also as I have been highly stressed for pretty much ever. I had the lump looked at when I had healthcare many years ago and its not cancer, its just tissue. If it even gets bumps lightly, its excruciating. Ive whacked it with a hose or dogs tail and it drops me. Anyway, part of my plan is to get it removed in Thailand and a bunch of other medical stuff that I wouldnt pay for nor trust in the US.

I feel like its one of the healthiest plants in existence (that we know about anyway), far surpassing marijuana and can be a modulator, Almost something to take the sharp edges of what our lives actually are, allowing us to not break. We got sick, probably with covid 1 time only without being "vaccinated". We were in LA when we saw it was happening in Asia and got pretty sick when we returned home for a few days and that was it. Our neighbors still seem to be sick every few months. Thats no joke, my immediate few neighbors sound like theyre going to cough to death every few months. Especially in the seasons when windows are open. And I hear from others about family members being wrecked by it.

Thanks for posting, IF you're still in L.A. this week I hope everything's OK... I'm West coast too & have friends down there. 😪 Anyway about Thailand ?

Important question so I'm not gonna "guess" at the answer! For sure, and you probably know this... Do Not go through the Malaysia airport/ Singapore/ with any type of contraband!! .... I did wanna mention that Thailand has done a huge reversal on Kratom! From being illegal many years (And sadly they cut down many Mitragyna trees!), Thailand NOW is not only Legal, but they are moving forward with growing, harvesting, processing... And especially being very creative in manufacturing NEW kratom products. Thailand is now the #1 world producer of Advanced Alkaloids = 7-Hydroxy and others. 💚 Not sure if their Labs are more modern, compared to Indonesia, but you can buy a Kilo of pure Mitragynine extract from Thailand... and from that, produce 7-Hydroxy. It appears to be, a booming business there. :ugeek:

Thanks Ballz,

Were not in LA thankfully, madness down there is very sad.

Yes we are not flying through anywhere that its illegal. best we know so far that is ok is Philippines, India, Germany, Albania, and Bejing (although this one is also unknown). I think its been used in TCM inchina but, they had a bunch of new drugs made illegal in July, I cant find a list of those. Ive tried. Our controlled internet in the US is garbage and is just ads and propaganda and really hard to get to other countries actual internet pages. We have snipets. There is a flight from SF to Bangkok direct about 21 hours>

I think its ok, we did see that personal amounts so if we cant find that we may just wing it low enough to get through. I cant imagine a 20+ hour flight ct and I have no time or will to taper right now. Its legal in Philippines and worse case, maybe we find out more, fly into there hang for a minute and then quick flight to Thailand.

I read that Indo may reverse its stance and is working on it. I saw a video from someone in gov talking about it a few months ago but, do not remember where. Its western pressure for sure and the populations suffer for those decisions economically and psychologically.

If anyone else knows or can read Thai,I would appreciate it. So many anxieties related to moving across the world without worrying about the one thing that makes your life tolerable.

You can copy/paste the text into google translate. Have fun in Thailand! it's a great country. I've been there a few times. A good buddy of mine loved it so much that he now lives there. Cost of living is cheap and they're very accepting of expats.

I used to live in Singapore many years ago. It's definitely NOT the place to mess around. It's one of the safest countries in the world for a reason. You could go anywhere at any hour of day or night and feel safe. Which is insane for a big city.

Thanks Poison. Yes we are translating but cant even find what to translate regarding Thai law. Nothing we translated specifies so far.

We did find out through translating that it has become restricted in China mid 2024, sadly it was added to a lit of 46 narcotic non-medical and psychotropic drugs, kratom as a whole, mit and 7-hydrox. I think it was previously used in TCM and Ive read that people do still use it. We werent really planning in going there but it came up in a SEA forum about china telling thailand to not bring weed and kratom in. Then the search was on.
