Hi everyone!

I am having some major dental work next week, and they're giving me an oral sedation pill when I go in because I'm insanely nervous about it. I had been planning on taking some kratom before going in like I usually do at that time of day (and in hopes of lessening the pain that's sure to come after the work is done), but I'm wondering if it could cause any issues. It's some kind of benzodiazepine that they're giving me (I think they said triazolam but honestly I'm not 100% sure on that) - just a single dose to last for the couple of hours that I'll be there.

I've been doing some internet searching to see what I can find but surprisingly I'm not seeing a lot of people talking about this. I'm wondering if anyone here has had any similar experiences, and if so, did you skip the kratom because of a potential interaction or did you take it anyway. If so, how'd it go?

I had all of my teeth extracted two seperate times both times I took my kratom doses as usual. I had no reactions or anything like that, of course everyone is different but I was worried too and both times it was fine! So if I was you I wouldn't worry about any interactions. Some people told me to take a little less some people said it was OK to drink the tea vs. Powder ( no food or drink thing) But I did t and w both times and a couple hours before they put me to sleep and it was OK. This is anecdotal of course, but I take an occasional benzo for anxiety and never had any issue taking kratom either before or after.

On a related note, if you plan on taking kratom after dental work, I'd go the tea route. You definitely want to boil and sterilize the powder before putting it in your mouth with any kind of dental wounds. I had a wisdom tooth extraction this past winter and stuck to tea for a couple weeks just to be on the safe side.

get the nitrous gas, works way better than a benzo. goes well with kratom, but you don't need it - the gas will be def enough. just bring in your music, pop those earbuds on... feel drowsy and happy, smells like ice cream... and it's all done and you feel great! no need to feel druggy and the kratom is unnecessary.
