Is Indonesia Still Weighing 2024 Kratom Ban?

Is anyone aware of the latest developments on this front? The NNA (Indo DEA) declared its intent to ban Kratom a few years ago, but postponed it to 2024 due to pushback and to allegedly give farmers time to prepare. Well here we are in current year and it seems like everything’s BAU in Q1.
Is this just a case of politicians making empty threats or is there something to genuinely be concerned about? I am starting this thread not to fear monger but so anyone can share facts about the situation and we can plan accordingly.

Big no. The amount of money being invested into kratom has jumped significantly in the past year or two over there. Many years prior a lot of Indonesians did not want to invest due to risk of it getting banned.

That's good to hear. I assumed more people would be talking about this if it's an imminent threat, but still when it comes to politics, you don't want to rely on too many assumptions

On the USA side. The fda couldnt tell a California judge anything about why kratom could be bad, which upset the judge. For usa importing it seems importing has gotten better. I just looked at import records and seen a few names who previously got busted in 2016/17 back at it using the same names without hiding who they are. Which could mean its wide open or about to get some heat brought to it. In general kratom importing has been consolidated to a good 10-12 people who import 90% of the powdered used in the USA.

LOL - sorry, but that was a nice smile to my day (and of course WE all know the FDA couldn't because, well, it isn't :>).

The recent presidential election there had very good results for the Kratom industry. Prabowo won outright and has vowed to keep all of the previous presidents policies (previous president was very pro Kratom).
