Antibiotics and kratom.

Post by GoNzO87 »

I recently had a tooth pulled, and I’m on a hefty 4x a day antibiotic. I feel like my doses are not hitting like they should. Short legs and reduced affects. Has this been noticed by anyone else here by chance? Thx in advance.

Antibiotics decimate kratom effects.

I haven't noticed it, though it could depend on the antibiotic. Due to side effects from a medical condition, I'm on them several times a year (at least) and I prefer amoxicillin but have to take the more exotic stuff if I must (I avoid Cipro and Levaquin at all costs but that is another story)--anyway, the point is that maybe my body is used to a cohabitation with kratom, pills, antibiotics and probiotics (you have to take those for your gut health and I'm guessing well-balanced gut health is essential for the absorption of kratom and that without a very good probiotic maybe that is the issue? Probiotics are not all created equal and they can get expensive but if you aren't on them, you can buy ones that have millions or billions of strains of good gut gook. I take one that has 15 billion active cells but I've taken like, 42 billion while actively taking antibiotics...just a few weeks ago I finished a course.)

With the probiotics, I haven't noted a difference. I will say this though--if you are in pain that is higher than usual, or in dental pain, it might not feel like things are hitting properly. I have all kinds of pain on a regular basis but I struggle to control tooth pain with kratom. The nerves are just too raw and they go berserk and my usual dose can't deal. I have to go heaftier. So, in my experience, the probiotics have mitigated the negative effects of antibiotics on my kratom regimen. However, dental pain has made it feel like nothing is hitting right because dental pain is so acute and nervy that it requires I go way up on my doses. It's like I can take Tylenol for a headache but for a migraine, it's like I swallowed air. Or, I have surgery and painkillers that would normally knock me unconscious are suddenly like water pills and I'm putting kratom in a giant ball jar on the nightstand for any of my needs that are 'extra'. If you are not having dental pain any longer, 👍 good. Dang good. The antibiotics probably are weakening how the kratom hits just based on what they do to your stomach alone. I'm sure someone will come on here and speak in detail about alkaloids and details I know not. What I do know is that if you probiotic yourself ASAP and after, that should improve things. If you are probiotic-ing, maybe go heavier on the millions or billions of cultures.

Or, I have gotten used to taking kratom alongside giant horse pills at least every other month, and we learned to coexist. I can't say the same about NSAIDS, though.
