good point. I haven't been here long enough to have a core of people whose reviews i trust. If you do, then i can see exactly what you're saying. I think (don't know for sure) that lots of people just buy 'lots of new stuff' from DTE, and then deal with it. On the other hand, there stuff seems more consistent than most.Kelleytoons wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 5:58 pmIt depends on the folks - when you've been around here long enough you'll have people whose experience you trust and who aligns with yours (we found this a lot last year with TFH testing). But your experience is exactly why I can't rely upon DTE (as someone here seems to suggest) - if "he" had been around here long enough he'd know. DTE is still too new (only a few years now) and, as I say, they sell out before people I trust can report on them. And I've found about a 50/50 hit/miss ratio with their stuff (which is not to suggest they don't try, or don't have good things, just that it's been that for MOST of the vendors I frequent - Denette is the exception that proves the rule but in his case I suspect that Chris' taste and mine align pretty closely, so if he likes/sells something I will as well).

Also..we are a kratom loving family. And we vary greatly in which batches work best for us. For ex..EVERYONE was touting heavenleaf's drhk3 so we purchased some. It seemed surefire but didn't work for all of us. (Did for me tho
I'm happy to say.)

Re: How to contact Texas Family Harvest
Yeah, I think if there's ONE thing we can all agree upon it's that no batch works for everyone.
TFH (to bring this back on point) does large scale BLIND testing to insure that their batches have the greatest chance of success. Even then there are some that do miss some folks. As I said, I rely upon hearing from people whose experience, by and by, aligns with mine. That doesn't mean I haven't also been disappointed at times (in those cases the Trading Post is a great answer IF you don't make all your stuff into capsules as I do. For me I'm kind of screwed since it's unlikely I can get people to want capsules I have made).

I’ll +1 to that, if it’s anything I don’t already have. There may be more of an interest than you expect Kelley

I keep saying I *will* give the TP a try with my capsules but right now I'm dealing with my wife's health issues (which *should* be resolved by the end of this month).
Once I get things squared away I will most likely give it a go with the expectation of, well, nothing. And that's okay, too (my only real concern is I will die and all my grandkids will throw away about ten thousand capsules thinking they are trash. One man's trash...)

Oh, and one more thing - I cannot recommend the 400 capsule machine I bought highly enough. I have four or five 100 capsule machines but this one makes making them lightning fast (I would have saved many days worth of work had I had this earlier). Now it takes me about a half hour to fill 250 grams worth of capsules (before I was looking at two hours).

which one did you get. I got one from amazon and find it taking me just as long (compared to the push the pills to ziploc method) because of the need to keep pushing down and scraping to even outKelleytoons wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 6:46 pm Oh, and one more thing - I cannot recommend the 400 capsule machine I bought highly enough. Amazon doesn't sell any capsule makers, that I know of (they stopped a few years ago. Most likely FDA pressure).
Capsule-It is the one I use, but you can't buy the 400 one anywhere but direct from their site. Note a couple of things - one (appropriate to this topic) many vendors wares are grinds MUCH fluffier than TFH, which are very compact. It's easy to put TFH powder into capsules, at least if you want to pack the most. With a fluffy powder you either have to settle for about half the amount OR you need to take the time to pack down (which can be a LOT). I go back and forth over which I do but, honestly, even with very fluffy batches I can still make 500 capsules in less than an hour. That is fairly straightforward (and you get better at it the more you do. At this point I have literally made thousands of capsules).

Legitimately have to set an alarm for the drop or else you're going to miss the most hyped stuff. Too many drops to keep up with period.Kelleytoons wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 6:07 pm Actually DTE is one of those vendors I tend to cringe when it comes to buying - again (and I've said this before) without enough reviews you never know. It's ALWAYS a crapshoot, no matter who you buy from. But by the time anyone's reviewed ANYTHING from DTE it's already sold out.
Although I bought from them once I doubt I'll ever buy again. No more fish in a barrel.

Yes and then you are just blind buying.
Again, this is why such vendors as TFH are superior in that their batches are large and there's never a need for FOMO. Some other vendors, like Denette, are also good in this respect (not as large batches, but certainly enough time to react to good reviews).
I'm at the point now where those *might* be the only two I buy from from now on, mostly due to this factor (I have so much stuff I do NOT need to take any "chances" - I only want gold :>)

The discord gives you an opportunity before the public try the samples and then go from there. I did that and then ordered what I liked the most.xymoriintus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 8:40 pmLegitimately have to set an alarm for the drop or else you're going to miss the most hyped stuff. Big fan of DTE but I do wish they’d release the samples sooner. You don’t have much time between receiving your samples & drop day.mikedjb wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 6:47 pmThe discord gives you an opportunity before the public try the samples and then go from there. Re: How to contact Texas Family Harvest
I personally never bother with the samples. I’ve been purchasing DTE since April of this year & out of the 30+ strains I purchased, 2-3 didn’t hit for me. And the ones that don’t hit I trade/sell bc they may not hit for me but they’ll hit for someone else. They’re my favorite vendor but I see why some people steer the other way, not everyone wants to gamble OR they can’t afford to purchase product that might not hit for them.

OR they just have a life and don't want to sit at their computer "waiting" for the 10 minute window to buy something. Also - I can't just take the powder, so I have to make it up into capsules which means if it doesn't hit I can't just turn around and sell it on the Trading Post. No - I'll stick with TFH and Denette and from time to time grab something like from Heavenleaf that folks I know RECOMMEND. The other way is just silly.

Yeah, MeWe isn't just something I visit regularly - unlike FB I have no real family or friends there so there isn't anything compelling to make me fire it up (I know, but what about HERE? Well, I feel very comfortable on forums, having spend many decades both as an admin and member. MeWe is just...weird).IndelibleDotInk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 8:16 am Hah, we had to drag him into signing up for MeWe, now he just needs to start talking to us there!

But I completely get where you & others come from. There are many, many solid vendors that are PUBLIC that won’t require you to play the guessing game or have to worry about purchasing at a certain time so you can get what you want. There’s a list of reasons why the way they operate might not work for some people but I just listed the first 2 that came to my head.
