Nostogia and Green Malay
I dont know if this is worthy of an actual post but I just came across a kilo i stashed away in 2016. It was a last minute purchase before they turned out the lights. Vendors were giving away there stock. Its "Green Malay" from a now defunct HB&M. Any old timers remember them?
In those days "Green Malay" was accompanied by a charming marketing mythology as to its criminalization in its country of origin and the illicit border smuggling that was necessary to get it to your living room. Totally fictitious in retrospect.
from the point of view of our current market of strain name proliferation.
As a strain, back then, it was hard to classify. It wasn't a typical "green" which was usually a GMD. I think it was the precursor of some of the modern greens which combine a balanced alkaloid profile that we've come to love. Anyway this batch of green malay turned out to be a very good burn. Moderately energetic, good day time strain. And an 8/9 in the euphoria/mood category. I'm not much in rating the pain killing effects but i feel pretty detached from my body. You'd love it HerbalHippie! Anyone remember "Green Malay"? What would you say it approximates in the current market? This is a useless post but I'll submit it anyway.

lol, that's hilarious.swablero wrote:In those days "Green Malay" was accompanied by a charming marketing mythology as to its criminalization in its country of origin and the illicit border smuggling that was necessary to get it to your living room. Totally fictitious in retrospect.
I'm not sure if I've heard of this particular HB&M "green malay of legend", but I've had green malay from other vendors. I find it to be a really balanced strain, and it is a great mixer since it doesn't overpower other strains. Interesting find. Got any other vintage strains?

I went with mmmspeciosa once upon a time, before I knew their prices were exorbitant
. They had really excellent red Thai and red Indo. I don't see either of those around anymore, though they still have them (and a green Malay) but I will not buy at those prices ever again. They have one strain that's $99 for a quarter kilo!
Sacred plant life's red Bali halus was fire..literally every dose was hit perfect, euphoric af and energy...not a typical red.
K warehouse had some good stuff back in the day but I don't remember what strains I had now. We're talking 4, 5 years ago.

Thats funny beathappening i had a similar experience with mmm. Didn't realize I was getting ripped off. Their plantation blew the pants off the head shop golden Bali that introduced me to the leaf. e_poison I actually did find some other unlabeled jars in the back of a closet, Probably hiding them from my wife, Looks in fine condition with a strong aroma, I cant really identify the strains yet That will be a fun exercise. Im amazed at how well they kept. The leaf does not seem to easily lose potency. And I have a vacuum sealed crushed leaf foil bag from Artisan, handwritten "Bali".

I could have used some detachment from my body the last few days. Never put heavy boxes away when you're pissed that someone else didn't do it on their shift.

MMM was my first vendor. I remember the first time i took kratom, their tawa tua indo, and instantly fell in love. I could afford them back when i only used 10-15 grams a week lol. Now i do that daily, it's gotten out of hand
