My son swears by Gaia Bali Gold to help keep him off opiates. I'm not going to order from them anymore, anyone know of a vendor with a comparable strain?

I don't feel golds and yellows so I can't really help him out.

Gold Banjo from KOG and Gold Bali from Canopy are both good golds.

edit: Gold Banjar from Be Natural Candles was probably my favorite gold, but I'm not sure if they are still in business.

I had SoCal Gold Bali from a batch last fall and it seemed pretty good for pain and relaxation, but I don't know how it would do for opiate addiction/wd's. The great thing about SoCal is they have good sample deals, so if you want to try some you won't be too far out of pocket if it's not what you want.

I know occasionally on the sub I have said harsh things about addicts (mainly because I have had harsh experiences with them) but knowing that y'all are here and actively trying to do your best with someone you love in the throes of a life-endangering problem has caused me to pull back and regret my prior tone. This may not be necessary, but it's been on my mind for a while now and I'd like to apologize for it, just in case I happened to offend you or anyone else here trying to do your best for a loved one who is also an addict. I wish the very best of luck to you and your son!

I'm glad your son is going for kratom, MetalMama, my daughter is still on Suboxone and in
no hurry to get off. Although she is on a slow taper. A very slow taper. I guess that's
the best way to come off, but it will be over a year until she's there.

I'm ashamed to say I have been meaning to apologize for that for a couple weeks.

My very best wishes to you and your daughter, and -- because it's an ongoing subject -- should you ever think my tone is less than acceptable on the subject, I invite your correction. I mean that. I can't abide the behaviors that keep people addicted (denial, blame, dishonesty, etc) but I also don't need to be offending the people that love those currently in addiction, much less shaming people who are actually -fighting- the battle and not just staying in the hole.

Because of parents and relatives and friends like you and MetalMama, they actually have a -chance- in this life to get a handle on it and turn it around in time, much more so than people without that kind of unconditional love in their lives, and I have nothing but mad respect for that.

But I don't seem to communicate that well. So shut me the hell up when I'm being a dick, and in return I'll do my conscious, applied best to pre-emptively save you the trouble.

When everybody was raving about Bali Gold I found that it didn't do much for me but I had good success Gold Maeng Da.

I would suggest that you might take a look at the list of vendors who sell sample sizes and order a small amount from a few different vendors and let your son try them and when he finds one he likes you could order a larger quantity.

Thanks! Yeah, Bali gold doesn't do anything for me either. I gave him some of my Socal Red Hulu and he liked that. I have some Socal gold maeng da from a year or so ago. I'll let him try that too.
